    What's Cooking?

Fall Whites, Jiffy cornbread, and canned Lima's. That's what's cooking at Casa'le wrench tonight. πŸ˜‹
  3. t's nice today, been outside shooting airguns in nothing but a flannel shirt for several hours. I'm perfectly comfortable at 40Β°. It's amazing how much difference 10Β° makes.
  4. My wife bought a taxidermied owl at a yard sale for like 3.00 I pitched it (after scanning it for any usable fly tying material) because.....for ONE it was ugly, and TWO because I wasn't sure it was legal to have.
  5. Good stuff there ! πŸ‘ I don't watch fishing shows much anymore, but year before last I got a call asking if I had time to swap out a sonar unit that day, said his wouldn't power up at all and he had a new unit with him. I said yeah if they could be here before lunch I could do it. Next thing ya know in pulls Mark Zona. As I was preparing to remove the console unit I noticed a loose ground connection, I hooked it up and his original unit powered right up so it turned out to be a quick fix. He's a really cool guy. I had never watched his stuff before then but I do now. His enthusiasm and acceptance when things don't go as planned, and how he can turn a so-so day into something fun to watch is true professionalism. IMO he is the best one going right now.
  6. Strike King Coffee Tubes are my choice. I could care less about the scent, it's the tapered tail that seals the deal. I either shove a 1/8- 3/16 worm weight up into the nose and rig them Texas style. Or on a tube jig head. Either way they skip like a dream and usually get bit on the initial fall.
  7. Oh they might have to be operated on someday, but it won't require re-financing your home and selling your children in order to pay the repair bill.
  8. Yeah well, several years ago they reported that they stocked 15,000 browns into the river. I knew full well that there was No Way In Hell they had done that, and I suspect that's how they cover their losses (or shortcomings). "We produced ALL THESE FISH....then threw them in the river". Nobody can prove otherwise, and NOW we are back in the "superior production" column. πŸ™„
  9. Yeah this cold business is bumming me out, I have no desire to do ANYTHING outdoors if I don't have to. For the first time in my life I am starting to feel "old". I've always been a little bit of a puss in cold weather but my level of tolerance seems to be taking HUGE steps towards the negative lately. Kinda scary 😱 I need to toughen back up !
  10. A tube in itself is "finesse" by most standards. Has Finesse been redefined? Before ya know it everyone will be flickin' midge pupae at reservoir bass.
  11. Hey, please share your peyote connection with the rest of us !!!!
  12. You stay away from me, you ol' nastyass city sewer carp.
  13. I don't take anybody serious. If I'm reincarnated as a fish I hope it's a gar. I have a feeling that it will be an ol' flop-eared porch sitting hound dog though.
  14. It's my ONLY bad habit. If I was perfect then everyone would hate me.
  15. About as likely as the heaven & hell thing. Carry on. πŸ€”
  16. I'd hitch a ride with Brain Baloney but he won't let me smoke in his truck. πŸ™„
  17. I imagine that was a fun trip. Good stuff πŸ‘
  18. Tell me, or I'll stop feeding this dog.
  19. Wrench love Billethead ! πŸ€—
  20. Please tell us why fish do what they do, Mr.T. πŸ€—
  21. "Sesame Workshop addresses the allegation that Elmo referring to himself in the third person will teach children improper English, by stating that this behavior "mimics the behavior of many preschoolers. Like 3-year-olds, he doesn't always have the skills or knowledge to speak proper English."
  22. Nice one! πŸ‘Œ Can you give us a story when you sober up ?
  23. No I didn't read it. And Yes I realize that the GUESS is based on some alleged "scientific study method". It always is. That changes nothing. It's innacurate by a long shot, and should actually be embarrassing to claim that it isn't.
  24. A used fishing boat in that price range? Right around tax return time.
