  1. Those systems have not proven to last any longer than packed hubs, and they are a PIA to repair when they fail. It's way better to have something that you can fix on the roadside with readily available parts.
  2. Yessir it will. Back in the day, before they started drawing the lake down so soon after Labor day, and not letting it fill up again until right before Memorial day.... It was alot better. 4-6 foot of water makes a big difference up there. At the current "guide curve" wintering holes are few and far between once you get above the Buffalo's, and most good spawning areas are high and dry when spawning time happens. The new crew at Ameren has pretty much killed it IMO.
  3. ๐Ÿ˜ฅ Ya know, I was thinking about you when going through that ordeal. It made a split but never bled. I swished with peroxide about 5 times anyway just in case, mainly because Sugarbritches didn't wash her hands (or the Bobbie pin) before operating. It's already healed though thankfully.
  4. This one smoked a spinnerbait in the bath-water, depleted oxygen shallows today.
  5. Cookies don't last long enough around here to even cool off....much less go stale. Tonight we have these... Oreos dipped in pancake batter, then deep fried and sprinkled with powdered sugar. Yeah, Yum! ๐Ÿ˜‹
  6. Nice work, man. That's 95.00 worth of labor. ๐Ÿ˜‰
  7. My wife puts saltine crackers in the cookie jar. Freakin' idiot! Moisture doesn't give a crap whether it's in a cookie or a cracker.....but you can't tell HER that.
  8. Agree! Me either, and I've been fishing this lake hard since 1987
  9. If they suck my flats dry again during the first part of October, like they did last year..... I don't know what I'll do ๐Ÿค” That crap they pulled last year was totally uncalled for and hosed up the entire Fall bite.
  10. Oddly enough, as long as it doesn't bring you to a stop, hitting something while going fast does less damage than hitting it slower. The more straight-forward momentum you have working for you the better.
  11. I'll stand by my punctuation. Regardless of what is right I BELIEVE my way is correct.
  12. No talent here. Just a troublemaker. ๐Ÿ˜Š
  13. Ness's pic was way prettier. Didn't cost us a single cent either.
  14. A strong case for the phenomenon of "It ain't what you know, it's what you believe". If it had anything to do with current and oxygen then the busiest (high traffic) area of the lake should get the nod. But because there is a belief that the upper Osage is positively effected by those little squirts of stagnant water from Truman then the guys that believe it, will stay up there and fish it better. Truth is that no matter what section of the lake you're on, if you stay there and keep at it you will figure out a good bite. A reason to believe you should stay there and keep trying is all you truly need. Nobody from the weekday evening hog fights is running to the upper Osage, and they'll be catching 20+# sacks in 4 hours this September. You aren't gonna do that with any consistency above Proctor. So save your gas and stay where you're at.
  15. The thought that a crankbait can cost more than that Co2 revolver is a bit disturbing.
  16. The Story of Stuff. ๐Ÿ˜„
  17. If you're thinking that you can toss a wet bass jig in a box with other jigs and the gel pack (or 5) would dry it out...... I'm betting not.
  18. I'm gonna say No. Probably about as effective as a tablespoon of minute rice. Actually they "adsorb" water molecules.
  19. Dang, is it really that unanimous around here? ๐Ÿ˜„ Alright I'll pipe down for awhile. โœŒ๏ธ
  20. Rainy day, not much gonna happen today and all of the 11 rods in my bass boat are due for fresh line so I get out all the stuff and start ripping, tying, and reeling. I use backing on all my reels to conserve line and I'm going at it like I'm chopping wood, you'd have thought I was in some kinda speed line changing competition. Ok, now that you're with me here.... I'm on number 5 and have just switched the spool to 12# and am drawing a double surgeons knot tight IN MY MOUTH when WOOPS, HOLY CRAP MY TOUNGE! Yep I cinched down a little side piece of tongue meat into the knot. I'm pulling and biting at it but I can't get it off!!!! I cut the line loose from spool and rod and go into the house, my wife is on the phone with the orthodontist office (ironic, I know), so I'm dancing around with 4 ends of 12# P-line hanging out of my mouth looking all distressed. She finally gets off the phone and I start sticking my tounge out at her while trying to explain WTF is going on (video would have been priceless). She's all "What the โ‚ฌโˆšยขยฅ were you doing that caused THIS to happen?" Thangin' Yine!!! Han you hit it off?!! So first she start picking at it with her fingernail....that ain't working. So she gets a Bobbie pin, bends it into a special tool like McGuyver and manages to squeeze it under the knot. This hurts like hell and I am beginning to get light-headed. Relax your tongue, she says about 5 times, and I'm like "How the huck do you do HAT?" Well I eventually taught myself the art of tongue relaxation and she was able to pull on the Bobbie pin and shove the section of tongue meat back out of the knot. Absolutely hilarious NOW, but at the time things were getting a bit tense. Has this ever happened to ANYBODY else before? So by all means be careful with your knot licking because this CAN happen. ๐Ÿ˜ฒ
  21. The world is full of treacherous places that routinely take lives. Odds are that you drove through a few today.
  22. Code: Blue collar
  23. Human wildlife is pretty interesting, somebody should market it and bring millions to THAT community.
