  1. I can't seem to get interested in the PCP guns, not yet anyway. Even though one of the guys I was shooting with yesterday is a fireman and he told me that he could charge cylinders for me anytime I wanted, no problem. Just seems like a huge hassle. So which .22 is gonna get the nod? I got set up for night activity. Works great on the Swarm.
  2. I'm anti-handwarmer or anything that produces heat. IMO the best and safest way to spend time out in the cold is by conditioning yourself to tolerate it. I learned a long time ago that you can be perfectly comfortable in below freezing temps in nothing but a sweatshirt and jersey gloves if you are doing things like splitting wood. And after you've done that a bit you actually increase your tolerance for cold temps quite a bit. Get out there on cold days and exert yourself just enough to stay warm, jog, ride a bike, cut wood, whatever, then when a 20° day comes along and you wanna go fishing you'll be just fine in a couple of light layers and probably won't even need gloves. It's all about conditioning yourself. That's why in the Fall you shiver uncontrollably at 40°, but in the early spring you can run around in 40° weather in your underwear.
  3. Sweetie pie threw a Christmas party yesterday and me and all the guys and older kids spent the whole day out shooting dinosaurs in the back yard. Finally after none of us would come inside someone brought us out a big plate of mini-corndogs. After eating a few one of the guys looks at me and says "You thinking what I'm thinking?" Next thing ya know we are being yelled at from the porch, because they sent those out there for us to EAT ! Mini corndogs are the best exploding targets ever. Orion had fun cleaning up the aftermath.
  4. Oh I understand. The whole river could fish like that if people who matter would stop being stupid.
  5. More fun than Squirrels and way easier to clean. Dinosaurs at 25-35-45 yds.
  6. Looks similar. I like being able to switch between map choices while maintaining the tracking. Often we'll come across old abandoned roads and Viewranger allows you to scroll through map layouts and figure out what the road is and where it leads. Also has gradient maps that are awesome for choosing the best route in or out of an area. Shows Powerline clearings and all kinds of stuff.
  7. If you want something like that then check out Viewranger. That's the one we use when mountain biking so we can keep track of each other. Works awesome and actually has lots of good uses.
  8. If big brother has time to be concerned about where I am and what I'm doing then the country is in really good shape.
  9. Yep, there's another one! Sweet! If pressured to choose the best Smallmouth river in the state I'd have to say the Meramec just because of all these 20+ fish y'all keep catching. It's a shame that I never fish it. Good job fellas. Doesn't all that gear fishing get boring though? I think you should up your game and start fly-fishing for them.
  10. Your phone service provider can tell you exactly where you phone is, only takes them about 20 seconds and they do it for law enforcement all the time. I'm sure they don't want to be bothered by people who have simply misplaced their phones, but if you have a legitimate reason and ask them, and they say they can't then I'd dump them like a hot potato.
  11. Next time I see you I'm gonna hump your leg.
  12. Of course they are fish hooks! What are you, some kinda jackass that refuses to accept the higher learning of qualified anthropologists. Like YOU know more than them about things like that. Pfffft!
  13. It actually does at times, just for a minute. So the muscle is still there (obviously) it just.....I dunno. Deflates? Looses blood flow? Sometimes he lays on his back with all 4 feet up in the air, and when he first gets up from that position his head will look normal for a bit. Some fluid or something is moving around in his head. It worrys me but there's nothing I can do about it. Sounds terrible but I'm not spending thousands of dollars on this peckerwood with no guarantee that it can be fixed, just so he can look normal. If it was hurting him or causing him pain that might be different.
  14. Yep, he's my lop-headed yeller dawg. He doesn't care that his head is crooked. I don't think he even knows.
  15. Did anyone else find it amazing that after 9-11 they were able to recover every key stroke, text message, and dropped call that was made from all of the victims mobile devices? It's all being stored and cataloged.
  16. Have thought about stuff like before. My oldest daughter (who is away to college now) knows all my haunts and habits well and could find me if she needed to, but my wife and others would be clueless if I just... didn't come home. My wife's best friend is with ATT and she can pinpoint my phone anytime/anywhere. So as long as my phone is close to me I can be tracked. Even if the phone is dead or destroyed it will show the last place where it was when it lost all power.
  17. Lots of big ones in the upper Niangua (above Bennett). My daughter trys to fill the canoe with shells everytime we float it. All are bigger than your hand. When I was a kid my dad had one on his gun cabinet that he'd throw spent brass and stuff in. That shell was HUGE and I'm not sure where he picked it up from but I assume it was either from the Salt or Mississippi. I wish I knew what ever happened to that thing because it had to be near record size. I'd say 10" or so long and at least 6-7" wide.
  18. I'd say that the old dead gal from Indo was quite likely a very popular mermaid. https://io9.gizmodo.com/5802301/how-to-have-sex-with-a-mermaid
  19. What does one fish for in Indonesia?
  20. I thought "with skill" that you could be removed too. Didn't work. I'll leave all the grub infested meat picking to you. You're welcome
  21. It's the same for MOST folks, thankfully! Otherwise I'd be poor as a church mouse.
  22. Once again, the Cardinal sniping mission will have to take place when Sugarbritches is not here.
  23. Probably tastes the same as a dove, and their shoulder feathers make for some sexy soft hackles. I do have a retarded woodpecker that keeps hammering on my wood grain textured VINYL SIDING. I'm pretty sure he needs eliminated from the gene pool. There's also a Cardinal that fights with his reflection in our east side living room windows every morning about 8:30. Pretty sick of his crap.
  24. I like having a few squirrels around. I don't wanna kill any of mine. The birds of prey, black snakes, and feral cats keep the squirrel and mouse populations in check around here. About the only "pests" I have are armadillos and a groundhog that keeps burrowing under the concrete floor of my shop..... but I kinda like him, we've given him a name and everything, so I can't kill him. Coons and possums clean up my fish guts so I don't wanna kill them. The armadillos and the birds that eat my mulberries and then poop all over my truck are toast though. A few feral cats might get popped....but if my wife ever saw me shoot a cat she'd lose her freaking mind.
  25. Yep, Orion immediately went to the window. Growling.
