That's a list of studs right there.

Animals that are too heavily populated almost always succumb to disease, and scientist/biologists have known that for 100 years. In my county there isn't a lawn anywhere that doesn't have deer tracks and piles of poop on it. And there are 25-30 new piles of meat on the highway every day in this county alone. So why haven't seasons and limits been extended? Aren't they supposed to be keeping track of stuff like that and regulating to maintain a healthy population? If so they have failed. More venison is being fed to buzzards, coyotes, and blowfly's than is being put into freezers, that's for sure.

I spent some time in Indiana back in the 1980's 4-wheelin' and fishing strip pits. Had a great time and made a few friends that I still talk to from time to time. There were lots of places to go goof-off in the woods, and tons of good fishing. If it is still like that then you're gonna love it. Have fun and post up some reports here once you get settled.

Gotcha. But the results never change. Throwing tax money towards projects when it's obvious that you're wasting your time, and the taxpayers money, is not "being nice" no matter how you spin it. I'm fully capable of convincing my wife that I need a different boat worse than we need to pay forward on the mortgage, but that doesn't make it the smartest choice and in the best interest of the family. Regardless of where CWD happens to turn up.....what are they gonna do about it? Set off a bomb? Nothing. For a couple hundred thousand bucks they'll know where a few positive CWD cases are, that's all. Am I wrong by thinking that?

Their ongoing work doing what, is keeping what at a minimum? You sound like a politician when you talk like that.

Oh I know. I wasn't inviting an argument about any of it, but every once in awhile I have to vent what, to me, is just common sense. Fairly recently there has been didymo, zebra mussels, Asian carp, ect. And before that there was always SOMETHING. And all those something's are still with us in the same degree, they've just been accepted as not the horrific threat that they were initially touted to be. It's just something to keep a group of people busy for awhile, and those people all got paid well. Nothing was accomplished....and WE footed the bill for it. That's all. The things that actually matter, and that they COULD do something about, always gets tabled. It's frustrating to sit back and watch it, and just keep our mouths shut.

That is the "Alternative Methods" record. I'm pretty sure the pole and line record is over 20#

Pardon me for saying so, but they are always coming up with these THINGS that are impossible to control....but yet require vast amounts of study and attempts. And they don't stop propagandizing it until they come up with a NEW THING to convince everyone they should worry about it. Then the OLD THING just goes away, without any action ever being taken. Reminds me of a group that exists only because they excel at creating perfect little "milk the goose" projects for themselves. "Ok, We will pay you to milk the geese, because you've convinced enough people that the geese should be milked, but let's postpone the sampling of potentially toxic dandelion's until at least 2018". I know it frustrates alot of you that you can't shoot feral hogs.... but dammit there are people on the payroll that need stuff like "Trapping Hogs" to keep them out of the bars. So it's important for you to believe how utterly intelligent those critters are, and that you need to leave the hog killing to the REAL professionals. ? Now a person capable of independent thought knows that if we shoot every feral hog we see, then pretty soon we won't see them anymore. Problem solved. But No, we allow the hog biologists to convince us otherwise, so we can pay to have hogs eradicated and miss out on all the fun that could be had hunting hogs.

Both. I have a shop and it is right next to my house. I have converted alot of Black Max's and early EFI Mercs to mixers after oil pump drive gear failures, so I have a bunch of warning modules. The modules are removed when the oil injection system is terminated so I know they are all good.
-
I don't think any of our Missouri lakes will experience a hard turnover this year. A slow mixing has been going on, but unless we get a wicked cold front that blows in suddenly and stays for several days I believe it will gradually mix with no major effects.

I'll take Marcus and his Squeaky Dolphin in a November tournament on LO. That Yuppie dude is probably a beast on the golf course too. ☺ I considered Maloney but he shoots the whole course with a 5 iron.

If a deer tests positive then what will they do ?
-
Hope you didn't pay retail for a new replacement warning module. I have a dozen of those things in a box here.

Either you or Phil is fine with me. -
If this is so important then why is it only mandatory during the firearms season? Inquiring minds.....

What the hell does Golf have to do with anything? Not even Dry Fly Fishermen, as yuppie as they are, would combine fishing and golf into the same event. How about Steve Austin's Broken Skull challenge ? Now that would be worth watching. Fish all day, then kick each other's @$$ in a log dragging race uphill in 110° desert heat.

I know that Smallies in small to medium sized creeks don't all migrate downstream to deep pools or the lakes they might dump into. I have witnessed them swimming across sections of bedrock miles away from any water waist deep and settling into little crevices during the coldest part of Winter. Just like a crawdad crawls under a rock, a smallmouth will slither into a little crack just big enough for him to fit into. There might be some spring seepage in those crevices or something but they seem to know they are safe and can survive the winter there.

11/5/16 fishing/National Geographic-like experience

In one of the coves I fish for White bass almost every evening there are 6 deer and 2 foxes that literally play with each other every night. The foxes run between the deers legs and nip at their knees, the deer jump up and start kicking like bronco's and chase the foxes back into the woods. A few minutes later they do it again. It's fun to watch and happens every single evening I am in there. -

Well I don't see how anyone can claim that the media is full of lies and exaggeration, and in the same breath announce who they favor, or refuse to vote for, in the election. Since you don't know or interact with any of those people ever, the only window of intel you have is the one you claim is wrong/false/corrupt yet you use the info gathered from that source to form your opinion. You must either believe that you are telepathic, or that you have some god given lie detector built into your brain. (It's ok if you lie to me because I know the real deal automatically......Right!). I'm not too sure that the voting process exists only so that when everything goes to hell you'll only have yourself to blame. Personally I don't trust the info I have enough to form an opinion, and giving me a deadline to form one is not going to change that. -
Well if you want to chase Whites you'd better get here ASAP because I can't imagine it getting any better than it is right now.

Yeah ya know, telling someone how you are catching your fish, or having someone tell you how they are catching theirs never does work out like you'd want. The giving and receiving of "fishing reports" is possibly more harmful than helpful. Knowing that somebody is tearing them up while you just can't seem to put their info into action is frustrating as all get-out, and probably just makes matters worse. Heck you can be in the same boat and practically get skunked while your partner (front or back) literally loads the boat. I took a guy out yesterday that I really wanted (and expected) to show a good time. I almost effortlessly put 11 good fish in the boat, but he only caught 2 all day. I couldn't recognize a single thing that he was doing "wrong", he just simply was not getting the bites. Even though we all hear/read about how mental attitude and expecting a bite on every cast is important I don't think any of us realize the true importance of that. And only a few (myself definitely not included) can adjust and fix it.

Not bad! And hey I'm a short shorts guy too. Stuck in the 80's so says my oldest kid. Who the hell wants to wear shorts that go past their knees (Capri's)? I ain't no basketball player. Please don't give the Ned credit though, that hurt. Those fatties would have eaten a slider worm and you know it. ☺
