  1. The only hangup I have with bigger worms is they are hard to shoot into tight spots because the tail invariably catches on something, and they don't "skip" very good. The biggest worm I throw is a 10" and I always bite 1/4" off of it.
  2. Good grief! What the heck have y'all got going on down there? I thought Lake O was the most unruly body of water in the state, but we don't have that kinda crap going on up here. Once in a great while I might have a dock owner come storming out of his house all cranky but I have ways of making sure it doesn't escalate into any kind of violence. I never EVER have issues with other fishermen. It sounds like y'all are constantly having issues with each other down there. What gives?
  3. I remember a tale told by Tom Mann Jr. about catching a big Georgia bass and having it spit a live 2' cottonmouth out in their boat while they were unhooking it. That would wake you up, wouldn't it?
  4. If it has centrifugal beads then you may have one sheared off or just stuck. Tear into it. Had a good day today! Wanted to fish some deeper stuff but the water was just too dang rough out there, plus there was PIRATES afloat... We stuck some nice ones back in the calm shallows and had alot of fun.
  5. I manage to SPEND all mine.
  6. Yeah, a man throwing a 12" worm is just trying to compensate for something.
  7. Guys with little Weiners have the biggest imaginations.
  8. That's what I'm talkin'about! Tell you what...you just send it all this way and I'll promptly get rid of as much of that filthy crap as you can send me.
  9. Oh jeeze, that's an old Detmar cable. You might have to buy a whole system and replace the helm too. How old is the boat, pre-1980 ?
  10. They are there. You gotta remove it from the boat first.
  11. I have 2 or 3 DD-22's I'd like to have done like the pattern on the right. Any chance someone could get them done by late August ?
  12. Take a rake and a rope out there and make yourself some clear spots. Give it a few days and then go have fun!
  13. O'rielly auto parts can get you a Teleflex replacement rack cable. They run 80-130.00 Just get the number off your old one.
  14. Yeah it's very peaceful back there, no waves to brace for all day, zero company. Just me, the bass, and the turtles.
  15. And for good reason....they don't DO ANYTHING except make determinations that are usually inaccurate.
  16. That row of docks back in Indian that you can't get a boat behind drives me crazy. What a sanctuary!
  17. Used to be 18" but currently 15"
  18. I've tinkered with them in the past and I came to the conclusion that even an honest 10" is slightly pushing it. About 9.75" is about perfect for a "big worm" in this state. If I feel I need bigger then I go FATTER, not longer.
  19. Well just so ya know, I 100% flyfish for river Smallies so I haven't used them in moving water but the HDcraw ain't quite big enough for lake O work. I caught a bunch of dinks on them. The jig heads are the bomb for hula grubbin'. I use them all the time and cherish them. I'm down right stingy with them too.
  20. Indian gave up this one and a few 15-16's today, along with about a dozen shorts. The best bite for me was in 2-3' and 88°, couldn't get the deeper brushpile fish to bite at all.
  21. I'll be fishing out of this Tracker for awhile. Chase me down if ya see me. I'll probably go pick on the Indian cr. fish this evening.
  22. I was out yesterday as that storm passed North of us. I really thought the bite would be on, and apparently it was for YOU, but I could barely get bit. I threw a 5xd for awhile and bumped some brush....Nothing, then went back over it with a worm but only picked up a few shorts. I probably could have caught some good ones shallow but it was calm enough to fish mainlake stuff and I didn't want to beat up on my good shallow areas. I was afraid to run very far because that storm looked like it might dip down and hit us.
  23. Nice one ! Just hanging out on points hu?
  24. I go through my periods of poverty but I've always managed to eat pretty good.
