  1. This pattern usually holds until Turkey day at least. Water temps of 45° on the flats, or a lake level below 657.5 seems to mark the end of it. But as long as the lake stays near 658 they'll still come in on those flat bank areas on warm days even later than that. But the crappie bite will be so good then that you prolly won't even care
  2. Yep, you're figuring them out sho-nuff. I went out about 1:45 and was still fishless at 3:45 Then all hell broke loose at 4:00 sharp Ended with 5 like this and 6 that were 12-13". Quit after a break off when I decided it was too dark to tie another fly on. I bet they are still out there biting under that big moon.
  3. LOL, I'm just 2 hills west of you near the upper Gravi. (lk-rd 5-14)
  4. Been studying those critters hard for 8 years now. The Fall haunts have a lot to do with bottom composition. I'm 99% sure I know where you're at, and if you idle straight SW from that spot you'll find a channel swing drop (looks like a series of humps on the LCR) with some broken rock along it. About 100'from the bank. It actually gets better as the lake level drops out a bit.
  5. The ones shown, and most of what you'll catch in Indian Cr. are straight Whites. Some of them are big enough to make ya wonder though. Did you go today ? You're a boss if ya did. I bet that bank had 20" waves banging it today.
  6. I sometimes take a weedeater and a chainsaw on camping trips, so I can't bitch to hard about a leaf blower.
  7. That thing would kill on a C-rig.
  8. Plenty. They miss out on well funded quality schools. Athletic coaches that arent just english teachers wanting more hours. Shorter, more reasonable bus rides. The ability to make a friend whose dad wasn't once in a relationship with your Aunt...or some similar disfunctional crap like that. I could go on..... You ever hear/or read about inner-city folks initiating anything to "share what they have" with rural kids in order to draw them to the city? Pimp their resources? I haven't, so I assume they don't. Maybe I'm wrong, Phil. Wouldn't be a first. So touche, ya got me. Hell, why not turn a bunch of quail, pheasant, turkey, and elk loose in the city parks and start handing out shotguns and rifles ? Give those poor unfortunates something to shoot at besides each other!
  9. Wonder why big city folk don't worry about the things rural kids might miss out on ?
  10. On a '08 Tracker rig ? I doubt it.
  11. So true. You can not experience "trout fishing" by catching a trout from a bluegill pond.
  12. Well some folks are just hunters to the heart, and would have to disagree on that one.
  13. The tach should sit at about 1k after shutting the engine off but go to zero when the key is turned to the "on" position. That is normal. You can mark the hub and then run the motor until you suspect it has slipped, then remove and see if your marks are misaligned.
  14. You asking me, specifically ? I'd rather the trout be thrown in the Red, White, and Blues myself, but hey if they wanna haul them across the state and throw them into drainage ditches in a lame attempt to "promote trout fishing"...... WTFever.
  15. If you kill it and feed your family then you did it right. If you kill it and feed the buzzards you did it wrong. If killing it cost you more than a freezer full of meat and veggies bought from the store...... ? That's a tough one there.
  16. Well then, I'm pissed that you're pissed that He's pissed. Now who's gonna get pissed that I got pissed about you being pissed at him for being pissed ?
  17. The lake is getting a transfusion now with Truman unloading and Bagnell alternating between 2500 and 30k cfs , and that is floating some junk out of the cuts and coves and off the bank. The upper ends are free of it.
  18. Better have your voltage regulator tested. And/or the prop hub.
  19. What RPM are you turning @ WOT. ? 30-35mph empty sounds about right. Everyone at BBC adds 5-7mph to their boats and 2-3 inches to their fish.
  20. Confirmation of that right here... http://www.kansascity.com/news/government-politics/article3373299.html
  21. Nice! That starboard side brow tine is impressive.
  22. Orion did good on his first trip. No hooks in paws and no doodles in the boat. Good Boy!
  23. Thanks to all. Hope all of you get a chance to pet him and have your tire pissed on at one point or another.
  24. I rode up on a pair of foxes "locked-up" on a bike trail about this time last Fall. She took off like a bat outa hell and he was squealing his @$$ off. "Not the fence, please baby DON'T jump the FENCE!!!!"
