The tach should sit at about 1k after shutting the engine off but go to zero when the key is turned to the "on" position. That is normal. You can mark the hub and then run the motor until you suspect it has slipped, then remove and see if your marks are misaligned.

The lake is getting a transfusion now with Truman unloading and Bagnell alternating between 2500 and 30k cfs , and that is floating some junk out of the cuts and coves and off the bank. The upper ends are free of it.
