  1. I still have a bit of the guide mentality. If I know where the fish are and how they are biting then I wanna take someone. But if I've been suffering through a dry spell and know that I'm going to have to spend some time and effort figuring out the bite then I prefer to do the struggling solo.
  2. 22--38 Might as well be life. Not like he's gonna get out and have a life afterwards.
  3. Just under 1k P&L
  4. "Worried it MIGHT be reeds" ? ...... so is it or not? All it takes is a piece of paper (Post-it notes work great) over the intakes to see if it's sucking or blowing. Sucking only=Good / Sucking AND blowing = Bad. Not to be a jerk or anything but just ask him to go ahead and complete the troubleshooting and hit you with a ballpark estimate. Sounds like it would be worth a set of head gaskets to take a good look at the cylinders, but honestly, with those readings it sounds more like his compression guage might just be "tired". Maybe request that he do a cylinder leakdown test. And as I mentioned above, the overly rich condition is more than likely a flooded vapor separator dumping raw fuel into the crank case. And there's a really good chance that is ALL that is truly wrong. Maybe he checked that and found it ok, I dunno ....just going by what you've mentioned so far.
  5. Hans  He forgot to say "cheers".
  6. Elder rd. Spokane, Mo. 417-443-2277
  7. Good lord that's obnoxious! Is there a particular buff you we're given for Christmas that you're trying to compliment.....or WHAT?
  8. I told the boy in a previous thread that I could load him up come April. But I'm pretty sure that unless he wants to head South before then he's SOL.
  9. I'm guessing that we up here are safe. Too cold for much buildup on the lines here.
  10. Exactly. And whoever in the biology department ordered TD to go out and find them some gar in February was probably either "not too hip on biology" or was playing a practical joke on him. LOL If that's not the case then maybe they'll send him on a paid vacation to Louisiana for a week or two. Have fun/ take pics!
  11. Commercial fishing has been banned on the Mo. river for 20 years or so. May be some comm.fishing still being done on the Illinois side of the Miss. But I doubt they are getting many gar right now.
  12. "A dealer" LOL I take it that you're not there on a scholarship. J/K Wait, did you say that you "teach" ? Yikes! I think you're gonna hafta wait til it warms up a bit, Professor.
  13. You're mounted down low (by the bilge plug and livewell intakes) , correct ? Not up high directly below the motor mount?
  14. Lucky !!! You owe that adjuster a beer or three. I have seen a bunch of regulator fires and most insurance polices won't cover them. They can be almost completely avoided by keeping a fresh battery maintained with terminals clean and tight, and keeping an eye on the voltmeter for spikes over 14v or a suddenly inconsistent tach reading.
  15. Doesn't hurt to have a few loudmouth mud-slingers looking over the shoulders of a state agency, just in case. I believe that his intentions are good. Cool thing about LD is that he isn't costing us anything, and if he steps over the line with untrue or unjustified slander I'm sure he'll be taken to task for it.

Only one over 20" for me, but I caught it topwater on the fly (red-faced deer hair frog) which I wouldn't trade for a dozen on gear and plastic. Seems to me that once they get over 16-17" they quit jumping and making hard runs. Big ol'bulldogging fish are cool to see every so often but I think I enjoy the slightly less obese ones with more explosive energy.
  17. A "RIGHT" can be taken away the same as a "privilege", can it not? So what's the difference?
  18. How would any regulation like that effect inheritances ?
  19. Thumbs up on all of the Okuma reels I have owned (5). They are very sturdy and never an issue on any of them.
  20. The only issues I am aware of are not issues specific to that year/model. They don't like to set long periods of time without being run. And the charging system (voltage regulators and stator) will overheat and fail if you try to get too much time out of a battery, or if you use a battery that does not meet the required specs.
  21. Last one I had in with those symptoms had some debris in the needle valve of the vapor separator which was flooding the vent lines with raw fuel during low consumption (idle) throttle settings. But there are a dozen other situations that can cause a rough or unstable idle. I recommend that you get it checked out by someone that knows their beans cuz it ain't gonna fix itself, and it's only gonna get worse until you do.
  22. Well even.though nobody has ever been beat to death with a fishing rod you still can't use 8' rods in a bass tournament..... I got over it. Can't fish past the yellow line at Bagnell. CAN'T WEAR FELT BOOTS ON A TROUT STREAM! Can't run top fuel dragsters on the highway. Can't drive a tractor or a combine on the interstate. Can't ride go carts on the sidewalk. All sports and activities come with their ever changing regulations and rules. If by chance this proposal becomes a law then you'll just have to get over it. But for now you're all worked up over s#it that isn't even gonna happen.
  23. He probably needs to define "all". Because the lawdawgs ain't giving them up.
  24. I had always figured the weir for a Summer/Fall area.
