  1. By the way, what rod, reel, line is everyone using? I sense there maybe some ill fated equipment choices.
  2. I do catch one over 5lbs on occasion, but usually I'll go out catch several fish from 2-4.5lbs on either 6 or 8 inch baits. Not so much about spending alot of time on the water, but just learn how to fish the bait (YouTube can help get you started) and fish your favorite areas. Most of the time, in this clear water, the bait only needs to be under the surface to 5 ft down and the fish come to the bait. They are great for sight fishing
  3. My S-waver 200 retails for $35, and some people pay more than that for a custom painted Megabass 110's. ..lol They just don't realize the potential...
  4. Party Crasher is the color, a black back shad with a gold cheek. either floating or slow sink, I've caught fish will both. I see your putting that Ayu pattern to work Bluebasser86 if anyone wants to know, he's throwing a Deps 175 slide swimmer. But its not always about the bait but where and when to throw them. Finding a ambush points and how to fish them at different casting angles. If you watch any of the BBZ1 videos, Bill Semential will talk about "plus values" on a spot. Where i caught this fish, there was warmer water baitfish nearby (i saw a school of minnows) 45 degree, step ledges with random boulders (ambush spots) a small current flow from rain water runoff over the ledges and boulders. higher oxygen content and lowered visibility because off runoff ( 4-5ft instead of 20plus like in the main lake), makes it easier for the fish to hide and ambush. I got clued to the details from the first keeper K i caught, and then i started targeting similar spots. In which the next spot i went to yielded the 8.5 There's several factors I consider in trying to locate and then pattern fish
  5. I've caught loads of bass from State Park Marina (campground side), Dewey Short, Observation Loop, Long Creek Marina, Old 86 campground, Indian Point Marina area. You can get yourself in a Kayak for an affordable price, no gas, insurance or licenses. I have fished many areas of Table Rock in mine with great success (I'm that Swimbait guy).
  6. The keeper K i caught definitely let me know his intentions, but the big girl was a very soft bite. I do have to say, of all the Kentucky's I've caught throwing the bigger baits, every one of them intended to kill it. Always it hitting hard, sometimes missing the bait.
  7. Mixed timber, didn't catch anything off of the wood. Gotta check for prices but yes a replica may be in order. I did fish the timbers both pole and cedars, with jigs and 5 inch Megabass spark shad rigged weedless on a weightless ewg, didn't get bit on anything. I do use the S-waver (168's or 200) as a search bait because the bass will "follow" them, but i ended up fishing more ledges, boulders and chunk rock banks with it. And thats the areas i got bit.
  8. A 15.5 inch Kentucky and missed another little dink on it. stopped fishing after i caught the big one.
  9. The S-waver 200 is an 8inch
  10. Haha that's a good one gitnby.lol I didn't bother fishing table rock this time last year because of the shad kill. I'm glad to be throwing these baits this time of year now. caught her in less than 10ft on some ledges with boulders, just slow rolling that S-waver ( just fast enough to get it to glide back and forth). It was an odd strike too, just a little tap and dead weight, then she ran for deep water.
  11. I'm sorry I missed the OAF Big Bass event on Saturday. I was paddling around the dam area throwing the River2sea s-waver 200 and caught a 8.5lbs largemouth and a keeper size K. I weighed it on 2 different scales with the same result. With this fish, i finally knocked off the 8.0 i caught 13 years ago as my personal best Largemouth

  13. Someday I'll wonder other there and hook another behemoth 50lbs striper like i did from Bull Shoals last year.
  14. As long as there's a handful of us throwing big baits on Table Rock, this is relevant.lol swimbaits, but not the destruction of one.lol it was neat to see how those baits are built at someone else's expense
  15. Seth, I recommend a 6inch BBZ1Jr in Lavender Shad or Blue Herring. It doesn't have a bill on it and moves with just the slightest tug, even the line uncoiling will make it move. I mentioned no diving bill/lip, because with baits this size I've seen so many fish hit the front or head of the bait. Baits like a Mikey, M.S. Slammer, or a Strike King "King Kong", that have a lip, tend to flip when a fish headshots the lure and the hooks swing out of the way=missed fish, so give a floating BBZ1Jr 6inch a try. Slow and steady, and hold on for explosive hits
  16. The action/swim pattern of the S-waver 200 is similar to the Negotiator, but there's about $60 difference between them. I've caught plenty of bass so far on it, in the "Party Crasher" shad pattern. I did get to talk to brandon a little bit while he was here fishing the Elite event. Really nice guy
  17. That's the area where I caught my Saturday 9am hour winning bass during the Oakley big bass last year, on a S-waver 168. We went back the next weekend and caught a 5.9lbs largemouth less than 50 yards from where I got the Oakley bass. Yeah there's some good fish there
  18. Be careful with the Deps.lol what color?
  19. I fished the river run side of the dam from 3 to 7 pm. I was 100ft down from the tower and was nearly crowded out of the spot and moved further down the bank to the flatter area where I saw some trout sipping bugs, and threw trout colored swimbaits to see if there was anything lurking nearby. I threw the same baits I had caught the walleye on a couple of weeks ago earlier that afternoon with no bites. And all the people that came down were throwing rogues and nobody got bit while I was there.
  20. Now threw March, the bite always seems better with water running
  21. If I dont have a kayak bass tournament that weekend, count a buddy and I in.
  22. Yeah I couldn't imagine doing that to a $100 plus bait. Luckily the 168 is about $15 a piece. (Freakin cheaper than a darn Megabass 110)
  23. Its the area below powersite dam, you'll usually find the fish in eddies when generating water and around the rock pile
  24. I'm sure bone is good, just haven't bought that color
  25. Did you file the points on the joint a little? I fish mine out the box, but I do change the hooks out for 2x gamukatsu #2 on the 168 and 2/0 on the 200
