Had this little guy come right by the house (tornado).......

Sorry you had to go through that!!! Good thing is you are still here to tell about it though; and that is truly what matters! Stuff can be replaced as it is just stuff; you and your loved ones on the other hand are irreplaceable. -

Nope we are in Nebraska! Kansas is only about 5 miles south of us though. LOL Boat was hiding in the garage safe and sound counting the days until we head south to TR. I will have to remember that about putting the Talons down for next time. LOL -

Yep I hate tornados! We lived in Springfield, MO back when Stockton and Battlefield got hit. Those and some others that year were some bad ones!! -
Had this tornado come within 1/4 mile of the house last night. The cloud it came out of was actually pretty much right over top of us but it roped down to the north. Thankfully it wasn't a real strong one. If it had been a stronger one I would have been cowering in the basement like a baby I am sure! This is it just starting........... At it's closest point.........

Have that happen as well sometimes. I think it is just part of it. When ever I get enough twist in my line that it is bothersome; I just cut the lure off and let all the line out while the boat is moving so it is dragging straight behind the boat. Reel it back in and the twist will be gone.

If we were staying in the house instead of our camper you would have been welcome to stay with us. If you find a place; make sure to let me know so we all can meet up again.
-
That is too bad. Was hoping you had decided to stay another week afterall so we all could get together again.
-
I think we are safe to have steaks since Dave is going to be back home by the time we are there. Unless he has changed his plans. It was brutal watching that poor piece of meat being burned unmercifully!!
-
I was just giving James a hard time. LOL I do want to get how you make it though when we all meet up while we are at TR in a couple weeks.
-
I see how Ya are; we give you guys a recipe for some really good cream corn and you hold out on us about this??!!!

I have two great seats (section 134, row-H, seats 1&2) plus a premium parking pass for sale for this Sunday. $200 total for both tickets and parking pass.Shoot me a PM if you want them.
-
Sounds like my day except you caught a keeper fish. At least we didn't tear anything up so at least we had that going for us.
-
Good luck to everyone too. As for me; luck ain't gonna help. Pre-fishing today was horrible to say the least.
-
LOL pretty much.

All the guides I have been with have always said they had no problem with us going back to spots while we were there. We mostly just do our own thing and try to find other places like we were shown and then expand on that and even try some stuff/techniques we were not shown. We don't have big lakes up here so we enjoying running the boat all over and fishing different areas of the lake. While we are there for 2 weeks you can bet we will be anywhere from Shell Knob, up the white and all the way down to long creek. Probably just sent Dave into convulsions thinking about the gas and oil we use. LOL Heck we even had one guide after our trip was over; out of the blue offered to load all his waypoints on my graph! That really caught me by surprise to say the least. He was obviously confident enough he could find fish even if we did happen to be on one of his spots.
-
Well keep on contemplating until after the wife and I's trip down. Don't want Ya thinking I have to pay you if we fish together! If Ya want help deciding on wether to do it or not; I can always treat it like a guide trip and DEMAND that you put me on a LOT of BIG fish. That might sway you one way or the other!
-
We are looking forward to it as well Champ!

I know nothing was personal. Even if it was I am pretty thick skinned.
-
I didn't say anyone had to like it. I just saw something I had not seen before and posted it. Like anything; iffin Ya don't like it don't buy it and if you like it then buy it. Me personally; I seriously doubt I ever buy one of these.
-
Probably not a lot of use for it on TR though.

3-2-16 Looking for Position Forcasting the Weather
Hunter53 replied to Bill Babler's topic in Table Rock Lake
Looking forward to what anyone finds out from MO biologists. Here is the response I got from the biologist up here...... "Are the largemouth bass in Florida the same as the largemouth bass in Nebraska?I am not referring to northern-strain versus Florida-strain bass. Are the bass in Oklahoma or Kansas the same as the bass in Nebraska?Largemouth bass from each geographic region can and usually do have their "own genetics". Those bass in Florida, Kansas, Oklahoma, or Nebraska are best-adapted for survival in that area and part of that adaptation is that they spawn at the time when they are most likely to be successful. Obviously, southern-most largemouth bass spawn first each year and the progression of spawning activity then moves north as the year passes. There are a number of cues that can influence spawning activity. For many of our freshwater fish, I believe that the amount of daylight or photoperiod is one of the most important cues. Because of that, spawning will tend to occur about the same time each year with some variability based on weather conditions, temperatures and maybe a host of other factors. In most years there is a lot less variability in the timing than many folks think.I should point out that there is a progression of spawning times for largemouth bass and other warm-water fish across Nebraska. Small waters in southeast Nebraska will have spawning activity first and then it progresses across the state to the north and west over a period of weeks. There may be bass spawning in northwest Nebraska a full month after they started in southeast Nebraska. While we are on this topic, let me make a few other comments about spawning behavior. For most species of fish, the males come early and stay late. You may see male largemouth bass exhibiting spawning behavior like territoriality, nest-building, trying to "herd" females, etc. a couple of weeks before any real spawning takes place. Every spring there are pronouncements that the bass are spawning that are often at least a couple of weeks ahead of any real spawning behavior.Never forget early spring is a seasonal peak for big bass, one of the best times of the year to catch big bass, because those females do quite a bit of feeding before the actual spawn." -

I got one response (on a the forum up here) so far about my question on why southern bass spawn earlier. It was not from the biologist; still waiting on his response. Here is the response I got..... "Time zones are set by longitude boundaries. Length of days/nights are more due to latitude boundaries. The length of day in the central time zone at summer solstice will be different at different latitudes even though all are in the central time zone. In the summer Winnipeg's day will be longer than Dallas's day, the reverse is true in winter. Thus the land of the midnight sun phenomena or the winter dark phenomena in the arctic regions." That may explain why bass spawn earlier in the south if in fact the photo-day is the main factor. The southern days are longer than up here in the winter.
