  1. According to google earth shell knob is only around 14 miles from the ramp. I would think a person could easily fish anywhere in the white river arm at least.
  2. This link has the ramps listed...... http://www.branson.com/fishing/boat-ramps/
  3. I have 2 butt seats and 2 fold down seats for our boat. I use the fold down when crappie or walleye fishing but still like the butt seat for bassin.
  4. Really good to see Stacey back fishing and doing well to boot!! Don't know him or ever met him but he sure seems to come across as one of the good guys when he is on TV.
  5. Totally understand!! Please don't think I was complaining as that was not my intent at all! I was just throwing out suggestions for next year is all. I was hoping I could make it this year also but it just didn't work out. I think you have done a fantastic job with this!!!
  6. If it is mid-lake (Kimberling City area preferably) next year I would come. Also a little later in the year would be great as there would be less of a chance of snow and ice on the roads (at least for me up here in NE. LOL) How about a late April one next year?
  7. The river2sea s-waver is a popular glide bait The River2sea S-Waver is a good one. Here is a video of it and how to fish it..........
  8. There is definitely a lot of crap on bbc for sure. It can be good entertainment though sometimes. LOL I have found some really good deals on rods and reels there though so it is good for some thing at least.
  9. Dang it; just got done making a tackle warehouse order last night and now I got to order some of these. Wonder what one of these would look like on a scrounger head. You all need to quit posting up about new stuff; it is costing me too much money.
  10. Which did you decide to go with Bill?
  11. Justin; if you have the time/extra money hire Bill to take you out for a day or half a day. It will be the best money you ever spent!
  12. After doing a bunch of searching and reading I went with the Talons. My biggest reasons were...... 1: I wanted the most depth I could get and Talons have a 12 foot model. I would recommend getting the 12's if you go with talons. 2: I also did not want to add all the weight of the hydraulics. 3: It seems the power poles all end up getting sloppy and needing bushings replaced if you use them much at all. 4: Another thing is that if the poles get stuck down you have to get in the water with the power poles and pull them loose; with the talons there is a bolt head you use a wrench on to manually turn them up if they get stuck down so you don't have to get in the water like power poles. You probably don't have to worry about this with all the hard bottom of the lakes. Up here we have mud bottoms so I was concerned about them getting stuck. 5: I liked the option on the talons for the settings for 'soft bottom' and the 'wave' setting where it automatically bumps them down every few seconds. That helps in the wind for sure! I am sure in your research you will read about people having problems with them not going down; what is happening is they are getting mud and stuff up in them when they retract them and then it hardens up after use. All a person needs to do is flush them with water after using them if you get mud up in them when retracting them. Again something you won't need to worry about with the rock bottoms on your lakes.
  13. I have to admit that is a sharp looking boat.
  14. I prefer to fish with my wife or someone else; it is just more fun than being alone in the boat. With that said I probably do better when by myself; as I am focused on catching fish myself instead of trying to make sure others are catching fish or at least having a good time.
  15. This is very true!! Wife and I always hire a guide on TR for the first day we are there to get us pointed in the right direction for the rest of our trip. It is the best money we will ever spend each time!! We have been with Pete and Bill and they were both fantastic! We have Phil Stone booked for this year. Our thinking is that for the first few years we will hire a different guide each year so we learn different ideas/techniques for TR. We will then probably stick with one or two after that and then just alternate each year between them. Anyone who is coming to TR with little or no experience with the lake; do yourself a HUGE favor and hire one of the guides!! Congrats Codywskeeter1521 on winning a trip. Hope ( I know you will) you have a great time!!
  16. Congrats!!!
  17. I will try and get some taken in the next few days.
  18. Nice thing about charger is you can buy direct from the factory if you want. Not that far to Richland, MO from NW Arkansas.
  19. Crestliner is what my brother had. He actually went through 3 different models over the years trying to find one that road good(dealer was close so that is why he went with them). Finally gave up and listened to me and got a Charger!! My buddy has a 20ft lund and it is a nice boat for sure and rides much better than the crestliner but still doesn't compare to the charger.
  20. Man you don't know how bad I wish that were true; then I could actually post pictures of fish!! LOL
  21. That multi-species (called the SUV) is a great all around boat. If a person does a lot of walleye fishing it is a great rig. My brother actually just bought a 210 SUV last year. That baby REALLY rides nice!!
  22. I think they are not more well known as they just have not really ever sponsored people or pay people for placing in tournaments. They also don't seem to run ads or commercials. Seems they rely more on word of mouth to promote their boats. Must work as they made it through all the tough financial times that a lot of other boat companies didn't so I am not gonna question them. They do have the Fishing University guys using Charger 797's this year. On the February 10th show they will feature Charger boats so make sure to check it out. It is on the outdoor channel. West Central marine supposedly had a couple at the Kansas City show this last weekend.
  23. Yes it is fiberglass. 100% fiberglass(composite); there is no wood in the hull at all. Life time warranty on the hull! They do need to update their site for sure. There is a ton of storage in this boat. If you want I can get some pictures the next time I un-tarp it and PM them to you.
  24. We did not do very good but with that said we didn't really fish that much. I posted a report of the first day in the other thread. The second day we caught one spot and only fished for about an hour or so and the wife got cold so we quit. Can't wait until we are back down for the last 2 weeks of April.
  25. Thanks. I had it up to 71 but there is definitely more in it. After playing with the setup I am guessing it should run around 75 loaded up pretty heavy. The Chargers are by far the best rough water boat I have ever been in. That is the reason we went with one as the wind is always blowing up here. If you ever want a ride when I am down that way just let me know so you can check them out for yourself.
