9/17/16 shell knob and friends
Codywskeeter1521 replied to Codywskeeter1521's topic in Table Rock Lake
Thanks magic looking forward to our time on the water soon. -
Me and cooper launched at shell knob bridge around 830 am. Yeah alittle bit of a late start. Started by throwing a whopper popper on long gravel run outs with little success. Made switch to channel swing banks with the whooper plopper. Finally started to catch some. That lasted till around 10. Went out and graphed some fish on the same gravel run outs picked up a couple more on a drop shot. My boy made the decision at around 12 it was lunch time. Made the run back to pizza hut ate some good ol pizza. Pulling out fixing to go under the bridge sure enough ran into Champ188 and his wonderful wife Donna floating around in his beautiful ranger boat. It sure was a pleasure to meet the both of you. Ran to viney and finally found the drop shot bite. Had to WORK for them but we did manage a solid limit and 16 shorts. All and all it was pretty Peace full out there and a couple wave pushers out.

need some info to help high school fisherman
Codywskeeter1521 replied to nitro's topic in Table Rock Lake
i'm probably the youngest here or close too it. I never had the opportunity to fish in school. Learned everything from my grandpa. Fish Derby's often not in dept and pay my bills and happy married with 2 great kids. I did play college baseball not every kid will have that opportunity. Most won't to be honest. Here's my point fishing young ,old ,ugly ,heavy set it doesn't matter you can compete at fishing and feel you have a chance. Now can you say that about baseball football ect. No usually the kid with the god giving talent plays. Fishing you work hard and practice you never know you could win yourself a opportunity to fish in college. You can't say that about other sports. Working hard will only get you so fair.. As to the sport I think high school fishing teaches the kids responsibility it's more then 50k boats and trucks. I'm here to tell you that our sport as we know it wasn't looking good till this came along. ( God knows alittle compitaion with youth today isn't a bad thing) On top of that teaching our youth C&R and livewell care ect.. just giving the kids a opportunity to compete in something. I know personally this will last a lifetime for these kids playing high school football ect. No just aces and pains later in life. I think we get so caught up on the look what he has or look what she has ect. We forget the point. These kids are spending time outdoors not in front of a TV or phone. Learning the love and respect that we have now. Folks seenin young men and women on our lakes fishing should make us all happy. If it's a weekend with my kids on the water or these high schoolers or college kids fishing Derby's. Let's not loose sight of the love we have and how we gained that love if it was spending every chance in a 16 foot v bottom with my grandpa fishing wolley or in a 50k bass boat we all love this sport and these kids are the future ansThese kids will have that same love that probably wouldn't of without the opportunity to fish in school. Nitro I'll be on the water tomorrow feel free to message me I'll give u any info I gather to help these kids have a awesome weekend on the water and the opportunity to win some scholarship money.. Thanks Cody. -
Thank you sir. Great looking plastics can't wait to share this weekend.

Awesome job and great job making adjustments to what the fish wanted. I'm guilty of fishing how I think they want it and not making those slight adjustments that u did to catch'em.

I've spent most of my summer up the james. They have really been tight lipped last couple days. But could turn around anyday. For shell knob couldn't tell you. Hopefully someone will come along.

Anyone fished Cape fair area lately?
Codywskeeter1521 replied to Sore Thumbs's topic in Table Rock Lake
Was up there early this week. Caught fish schooling late on a buzz bait. When the sun was high mid day shade was the key docks and a jig. Fishing was pretty tough 4 keepers and 15 shorts.. Going to be out of there early tomorrow morning little club tournament so I'll post more after. Good luck hope this helped. -
Awesome job Bo. U make it look and sound easy. Which we all know isn't the case. Hats off to u sir

Hey champ, I fish a local tournament out of cape fair on Sunday mornings. When it gets hot we all agree to drop the limit to 3 fish. The survival rate increases dramatically. Some of these guys are good sticks. But we as a group wanted to look at the life of the fish. But I agree that most top tournament guys wouldn't go for this. I agree 100 percent the MLF format will never work on the local tournament level. I mean unless you want your tournament fees to be outrageous The only way you'll get people to sit in a boat and watch me fish will be to pay them. Another good point I've read islivewells. I also use ice water bottles and rejuvenate plus added a additional pump in my well for these times of year. Proper livewell care is one of the most important part of keeping your fish alive.
