    One of our high school anglers is hosting a tourney as his senior project for school. $50 entry with 50% payback proceeds go to the Republic High School Fishing Team. $10 optional big bass pot with 100% payback. Anyone interested is welcome to fish. Would love to see a bunch of people come out and support high school fishing and one of our fine students.

    On Saturday I was reading 34 around the Mile Long Bridge and 36 at Cedar Ridge.

    The single day record was broken on Saturday by Paul Mueller 32.02. Not sure what the record for the biggest final day weight is. 29 lbs. has to be up there though.

    I saw you all in there crappie fishing today. I also went the entire day without catching a bass. Glad our club tourney up there today was cancelled haha.

    Supposed to have a club tourney out of old state park on Saturday. Haven't been up that way in weeks. Do you all think the ice will gone by then? Guessing the back ends of some of the creeks and coves will still be iced over.

    I really like using braid with a fluoro leader. I do not crank with that set up though. I primarily crank with baitcasting gear but for certain applications i will crank with a spinning rod/reel. But always with fluorocarbon. Feel like the braid with fluoro leader is going to cost you a little depth on your crankbait.

    That's nice to know about the shad in the Cape Fair area. I fished around the KC yesterday and there were dead shad all over the place.

    Fished the KC area today and saw a big flock of them. They were in heaven with all the dead and dying shad.

    I use two different set ups for my A-Rig 1. 8' XXH Fast Action Rod and 6.4:1 reel 2. 7'6'' H Fast Action Rod and 7.1:1 reel Both spooled with 50 lb. braid Sufix 832 has worked great for me
