  1. Seth...yes and no answer. Yes, same heads, no the slim swimz is not at all the same. It's a fantastic little swimmer, some won't like me saying that, but it's much shorter than the Shadz, with an action tail. Shadz is basically an elaztech gycb shad shape worm. No salt. It's an acquired taste at best. With just the little breeze today, it was nearly unfishable.
  2. Weight room will do that to a feller. Em's girls team won the 5A powerlifting title.
  3. Spent a week now chasing the little buggers. Pretty decent fishing, despite the weather and the low 80 degree water temps. Up front info... haven't seen much of anything that looks like drop shot or other vertical fish. And we've looked. We have found a solid drag bite, main lake or near it. Pretty much requires a sharp drop, wood, deep water access, or better yet all three together. Mostly 18'-25', but if you find a place with a shallower drop, it's worth checking. Guarantee Bo could point to a few on the map. These places may look like flat gravel, but the better ones have stair step ledges, sometimes with 15' less than 50 yards from 100+. Catching a mix of all 4, meanies included, with a good number of solid blacks. Ned is catching them, but so is a tube, and the stupid Finesse Shadz. We've caught a handful of fish on top, all wake baits of various kind. That includes the monstrous Bull Shad wake bait. That's like throwing a live 9" bluegill at them.
  4. Been more than a few times this week that I've had a hard moment expecting to hear and see Beck backing in, or pulling out of, that awesome garage of his. Got used to seeing him every day I was at the lake. Feel for you BB.
  5. We were just in the Thunder tackle shop in Kimberling. They have a pretty comprehensive board of derbies and dates on the wall.
  6. "mistakenly" 🙄

  8. We've been taking up space in the 417 for a week now, will get some fish info up in a bit. First...thank you to everyone who has been kind enough to pray for my wife Heather, and for our family. We cherish your prayers, and are still finding our strength in God. So many times, He was all we had to cling to. Overall, she's doing well, better than before surgery in many ways really, but it's been a rougher road than when I last posted anything. Right after that update, she developed multiple pulmonary embolisms, and we started treating those. That was just after Valentine's Day. Hopefully, that's about to come to a resolution, should know in a few weeks. About mid April her three month MRI came back showing something that still enhances. That's most likely residual tumor. We're in the process of trying to find out what the plan is for dealing with that. Many of you have been through something similar, and know that "unsettling" doesn't come close to describing it. It's been...rough. That covers it pretty well. Knowing it's a long process and being caught up in the process are different things. So jigs...we were almost up to speed on pouring jigs when the clot issue happened. That quite simply changed a lot of things. For now we're on what I would describe as a hiatus with the jigs. Just not going to spend hours over a hot pot when I might regret it later. If things work out well, we will be back at it, because the darn little things work. Girls just headed home this morning. On top of everything, in the middle of this our daughter made an AAU basketball team, and is in the process of applying to the Air Force Academy, and Annapolis. She leaves for an Air Force engineering camp in Colorado Springs in a couple of weeks. Basketball like crazy until then. Busy busy. When I say I love you all like family, please know that I mean it. This is a pic I wasn't sure would ever be taken...
  9. The sport lost Mr. Hibdon yesterday. A genuine man, in every sense. Prayers for his family.
  10. Keep an eye on eBay and BBC.
  11. Lansing students took fake chickens to the Tongie game. Rivalries...
  12. 1/8-3/8 with a 3/0 hook. That's for the 3.8 size, or equivalent like Strike King's swimmers. Oddly, some of the smaller swimbaits fish better with more weight than you would expect. 1/8 or 3/16 for those 2 & 1/2" size baits, #2-1/0 depending on the bait.
  13. How did I miss that? Oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy oh boy.
  14. Maybe if you weren't tying it to that clothesline you fish...
  15. Losing hope for you, I am.
  16. Now I've got Rocky Boots ads. Haven't looked at boots in ages. Starting to miss the underpinnings...
  17. Probably pic size. I had to add a photo resizer app to my phone last year to work around it.
  18. Shhhh.
  19. Most of the time. If you fish every day for a couple of weeks you may notice preferences. Great starting point though, any lake, any water color.
  20. This. At least as far as the plastic and glue. The TRD will simply never fish like the cut stick.
  21. I believe they are also referred to as that. In the finer outlets.
  22. The ladies just prepared for Winter Royalty a couple of weeks ago. And prom. Apparently underpinnings of special design are as necessary as gore tex.
  23. That explains the prom dresses and "underpinnings" mixed with my trailer tire ads. The modern man must look STUN-NING on the water.
