    What's Cooking?

Doctor said I've got five. Five what I said. Doctor said four....three
  2. Doctor and wife have both given me absolutely not for this Jigfest. Dangit. Honestly though Ii can see why. I am very unsteady and as much as I want to attend I want to get well even more.
  3. You guys are so good. People like you give me hope for this world. So much positive here on OAF.
  4. I remain hopeful that I will be able to drive by then. That is the determining factor for me. From what I hear, recovery from THR goes pretty fast so I am hopeful. That said, the literature I got from Mercy says four weeks. I beat the clock by a lot with my knees and sincerely hope it goes that way with this little hiccup.
  5. Two really nice ones. Way to go.
  6. Here around Ozark it was pouring down with thunder a bit after midnight. Nothing now.
  7. The Lew's aluminum pliers have cutters that cut everything and they are the best pliers ever.
  8. Maybe a few paper towels made my list.
  9. I carry a chair, a table and a tarp. And stuff to cook eat and drink and sleep in/under. What else is there? Dawn detergent I guess. Maybe a few paper towels. Forget the rest of that crap, you don't need it.
  10. Jigfest 2017 that was the norm.
  11. If you're the king, I'm the crown prince.
  12. What a river.
  13. Hip replacement 2/8/19. So its likely I will be able to come. Still in for deer steak breakfast or dinner which ever is preferred.
  14. Color me impressed. You're a good man.
  15. I'm only 66 but have crappy genetics when it comes to my framework. I've always been able to get well from previous repairs and plan to again.
  16. I've gone from 100% in to iffy at best. Been having the devil's own time with my back and right leg for the last six months or so. MRI results are not so hot - looking like a new hip and another back surgery too. If I'm not in recovery mode or have actual surgery during jigfest, I'll be there. I'll know more in the next couple of weeks. Wish me luck. Whoever said growing older is not for sissies was way too right.
  17. It's pretty country down here. The mountains aren't that tall,, but the hollers sure are deep. That sunset is a great photo. Thanks Bill. As an aside brag, I live on a hill in Christian County in a house that was built in 1900. It's modern comfortable now on the inside, but looks like it did then. Best thing I did was ground source heat pump -no outside unit humming winter or summer and no propane tank to look at. Love this country.
  18. Floated from Rush to Norfork back in the day. Two things. Take lots of ice. Don't forget the White River goes up and down a lot. For us, it was a five day trip including drive time. Best tan I ever had. Also we took on a little water and lost a frying pan at Clabber. There was probably a reason for that.

    What's Cooking?

I'm just glad everybody still loves me. Wilting flower that I am and all.
  20. I used to have the run of Vernon County. I could duck hunt them too. And quail hunt almost anywhere.
  21. I've caught a lot of fish on Rebels and Rapalas in days gone by. The original jointed floating Rapala seemed like magic when I could fish ten ponds a day.

    What's Cooking?

Your dog won't eat white bass either until it's covered in hot sauce. Cornbread though, that's another matter altogether.

    I suspected as much.

    What's Cooking?

Avocado toast made with a perfectly ripe avocado, harvested today from the basket that hangs by the kitchen window.
