I think I'll just call Sara tomorrow and cut out all of the middlemen.

OMG this has turned into a deal. She is taking the t-shirt in the envelope it came in to the post office tomorrow. To see what postage should have been. You do not want to mess with Lovey.

I have trouble with pictures. On the front it has a pic of a spoonie and text that says I caught a Missouri paddlefish. On the back it has MDC logo and says Discover Nature. It's heather gray and really is a good quality t-shirt.

Uh. Oh. She is on the e-mail machine.

I have never had an issue with any St. Croix rod. They remain my favorite. Got grandsons two Temple Fork spinning rods. They like them a lot, and they are both good fishermen. I have two Lightnin' Rods that still get used now and again. One is a darn good crappie jig rod.

Ok. So I caught a spoonbill that had a tag in the jaw. Me being a good citizen and all, I called it in. They told me I could have a free T-shirt and they would send me a letter with the details about the fish. Size, where tagged and released, when, all that cool stuff. Gave them the address and T-shirt size and pretty much forgot about it. Yesterday there was an envelope in the mailbox that said we got something with $2.05 postage due. Neither Lovey or I had a clue. So she went to the post office today. Got a T-shirt from MDC mailed with $2.05 postage due. So. Should she send them a bill for mileage and the $2.05? I mean free should mean free, right? Come on man....

It's been COLD. Probably late in May this year. Potatoes have been in the ground nearly a month and they're not up. Peas same same. Everything else is doing OK. Still no asparagus showing but it will.

Yeah. The birds are doing it for a living. One of nature's pretty reliable tells.

There was a big group of cormorants fishing hard on the James just east of the 65 bridge today. Would have loved to hit that spot. Birds know. Seems to have worked for you.

It's probably just a superstition, but I use red hooks whenever I fish with minnows for crappie and wind up catching a few whites and maybe a walleye or two. I also use 2 lb maxima whenever I'm fishing minnows. Night fishing it's a split shot or two and then freelined. Crappie on the bank or getting close I use a slip bobber and split shot. That's what works for me anyway to the point I'm settled.

I agree. And the solution is easy but messes up the fun at the big weigh in. Poor excuse if you ask me.

Do you suppose they cheat on their taxes, golf score and their wives every chance they get too? Lifetime ban if caught.

I hate to say it this way but its the way I see it. You're more about tournaments than the fishery.

Only if you think tournament bass fishermen would stoop so low as to cheat. I believe in the strength and honesty of the human spirit and do not think anyone that is a true sportsman would ever do anything like that. Especially if there is a lifetime ban if you are ever caught cheating.

Catch, photo, weigh, release. Except that it's too hard. And it's no fun back at the big weigh in.

I occasionally put sour cream in scrambled eggs if there's some in the fridge. Lately been adding some ricotta that was left over from an earlier cook. They will both give you some creamy goodness in your eggs.

Avocado toast with a perfect over easy egg on it. Runny yolk, set white, no crispy edges.

I'd have one medium spinning rig with 6 lb. Maxima or your other favorite mono.
