  1. I put a floor in mine and it was really easy. It's 1/2" CCA plywood cut to fit painted to match with non-skid porch paint and then screwed to the floor rails. My boat is a 48" wide model with 4 rails. No rail on the outsides so I also screwed a strip of 1"x2" CCA to the plywood before I laid it in the boat so it wouldn't be flexing when anyone walked on close to the gunwales on the boat. The plywood has enough flex to allow for the rocker these boats have, just had a buddy stand on it while I screwed it down. I figure there is about a sheet and a half of plywood in the boat. Sure it added a little weight but those boats are not light to begin with and I'm pretty sure that amount of plywood weighs less than what the solid fiberglass floors weigh. Water will still run under the floor but my boat stays pretty dry and if water does get in, my theory is what doesn't drain on the drive home will evaporate. And it won't hurt the CCA to be wet. I'm really glad I put the floor in, really improved walking comfort in the boat and stuff on the floor stays dry too. Here's what it looks like:
  2. I think ticks must be allergic to me. After two or three days, they swell up and turn grayish purple and fall off.
  3. I guess you can tell I don't spend a lot of time on the lakes.
  4. Your tacklebox is a mess. But everything else is pretty awesome.
  5. The one I hate the worst: "I'll be honest with you". When that one comes out the first thing that pops into my head is spare me.
  6. Looks like the makings of another good fish fry at Grandma's!
  7. You never know when you might need to shoot a hole in the bottom of the boat. Better safe than sorry is my motto.

You really CAN say whatever the heck you want (pretty much) and you're not going to go to jail for it. That's where the free country part comes in. You may well suffer other consequences though, as people are starting to learn.
  9. Sorry I missed you. You have a voice mail on your phone now.
  10. Check out Temple Fork rods. Fin and Feather in Springfield is where I bought mine. Shimano Chronarch on it and I think it's a pretty sweet set up for the same thing you are wanting.
  11. Relatively heavy frost at my place 5 miles NE of Ozark. Glad I covered everything tender up and took hanging baskets indoors.
  12. It will be murky not muddy. I'm partial to chartreuse and blue or chartreuse and orange spinner baits with single gold Colorado blade this time of year in that kind of water.
  13. It will be perfect unless it rains more.
  14. The real problem is there are too many people for not enough planet to allow it to stay unspoiled and wild. I'd like to have more solitude and fewer people on the river too. But as much as I'd like that, I can't see where shutting people out of being able to get on the rivers is going to happen. I will say that there are other states that do a better job of managing their river resources that people want to love to death too. Ever been on the Snake River around Jackson Hole?
  15. Congratulations Phil, it's been a good run for you.
  16. I think we have a new drunken poster! At least I hope he's drunk and doesn't always use as many exclamation points!
  17. I guess it could have been worse.
  18. Get that fish back in the water STAT!
  19. Stockton's not going to run out of LMB cause this cat fed a mess to his family any more than it is mushrooms cause a bunch of you guys kill them by the hundreds.
  20. I don't much care for pits, rottweilers or pinschers, I've seen all three go off kilter too much to suit me. We've got a big dog that I am getting to like though, he is half Great Pyrenees and half Australian Shepherd. Big boy bark for sure very alert and he is very athletic, thus far the temperament is superb. Takes no crap from the other dogs but doesn't offer any up on his own. Coat might be an issue, he's as hairy of a dog as I've ever had and that's for certain. I'm old school about problem dogs. Sometimes dogs just run off or something and don't come back.

It's hard for me to believe the SEC defensive player of the year won't make it in the NFL. Desire and heart make players nearly as much as raw physical talent. It'll be an interesting story to watch unfold. Haters wanting him to fail notwithstanding. I wish the young man the best.
  22. No you do not. It's great grilled. I spritz with a little EVO, a little Balsamic Vinegar and sea salt and that's it for heavenly good Asparagus
