    What's Cooking?

Back when I was a kid one of my favorite suppers was hot biscuits, buttered and then drizzled with sorghum molasses. Add a glass of cold milk and then you are set. Looks like all you needed is the molasses. Beautiful biscuits Marty.

Ball park was all I had. Submerged in the seasoned beans - which BTW I was able to add some green chile's to the program, they were actually pretty good. Hebrew > Nathan's if you ask me. But both beat Ball Park.

    What's Cooking?

Beanie Weenie Deluxe tonight. Deluxe means there's onion, BBQ sauce, honey mustard and a dash of Worcestershire in the beans. Sadly, the weenies are Ball Park, not Hebrew National.
  6. We called him uncle twoshot.
  7. Well my uncle said he screwed a thousand women before dinner.
  8. Remember all the 911 conspiracy theories? How about Sandy Hook? And on and on. There will be/is so much noise around this it will be hard to detect the correct signal.
  9. Until you've met him, seen what he does and has done... well, then you'll know. Proud to call him my friend.
  10. probably one of those new fangled micro eye dealie bobs
  11. Yore fishin pole is upside down.
  12. I haven't carried a sidearm since 1972 when I was USMC armorer and went about armed when I had the keys on me. Lately, at times, I do. P.S. I have two tattoos. So watch it buster.
  13. It's not even close to where regular people start trying to take other people's stuff. This is as close of a scenario for that to start happening in a few weeks as I have ever imagined.
  14. It can, right up to tightest.
  15. Not for a while, but hopefully eventually, I'd like to be able to travel again, eat out, see friends and so on. Chief's game? Not for a while until after everything is copacetic - which could be years.
  16. Don't ask me how but I'm still losing weight. Digging riding the bike again. If the weather is not favorable, I walk. Comfortably again and thankful for that. Miss seeing friends and going out to eat. Miss going to baseball games (grandkids mostly, but also Springfield Cardinals) Miss watching sports on TV Hate wearing a mask but do it anyway when appropriate. Worried about our little water and sewer company as it's in Branson and lots of rental units sitting empty. Digging baking bread again. Digging having 1/4 beef set for pickup early next week. Don't miss going to Wal-Mart at all Digging having a little garden spot ready to go Don't like worrying so much about the future. Not normally the worrying kind but lately - yeah I worry Don't like wasting - it feels that way - so much valuable time just killing time But. Surviving and being thankful for health, neighbors, family and you guys. It helps to vent. Edit: Ness, you'll never know the misspelled word I corrected because I can keep a secret.

    What's Cooking?

A little bowl of chili and sourdough Texas toast.
  18. 3 dozen eggs cost $7.92 here this morning. Fine by me, do not want to ever be out of eggs.
  19. I've been hungry before. Didn't like it. 😎
  20. Marines will eat anything. Even a coot.
  21. The place I frequented did buffalo ribs, french fries and sweet/sour cole slaw. And cold beer.
  22. Buffalo ribs are terrific! That one had some real ribs too.
  23. Nutria are more like muskrats than anything. Southern and a NW thing too. They're aquatic like a muskrat. Big teeth. My terrier people back in the day hunted them.
  24. You're in a very good area. That's a big part of being lucky.

    What's Cooking?

A bone in thick pork chop done correctly is hard to beat. Back in a former life I spent time in Iowa in winter hunting raccoons. There was an absolutely incredible local steakhouse that did every last thing on the menu and salad bar from scratch in house. Including pickled herring, pickled beets, best pea salad you have ever had deviled eggs, you name it. And some great - truly great steaks - most everyone ordered ribeyes and I've had one and they really were great. But. My usual was the Iowa Chop. A 2 inch thick bone in pork chop. Grilled just right. Freaking incredible. Wish I could do it again! But alas, those days are gone. Edit - it was a supper club, with good cocktails. Dang it! I miss that time and those guys.
