  1. What's a buff? I'm guessing not a bison.

    What's Cooking?

No wonder. You're too busy cooking! That chicken dish sounds real good, plus it looks very nice the way you have it plated. I'd have added cilantro too. Love that stuff.
  3. I was having some discomfort with a really small grip on a St. Croix last time I was out with Ham. I've since put some bike handlebar wrap on it to make it a larger diameter. Would something like that maybe help your issues?
  4. Been down that road, have the scars to prove it. My experience: Walking for exercise helps a lot. Don't know if you struggle with weight or not but either way, getting to and keeping a healthy weight also helps a lot. Core strengthening too. A good physical therapist can help you learn how to strengthen where you need it and also improve flexibility which is also important. Hope you get to feeling better soon. None of the previous are easy, but are worth it to live without that constant burning pain.

Finley was bank full Friday afternoon. It was dark when I crossed it this morning so I really can't say yet what shape it is in right now. But I'm sure it's cleared up a lot but is still running high.
  7. Nano is picky about knots. Learn to tie leader on with Crazy Alberto. Then use a palomar or improved clinch or loop for whatever you're fishing with. No further problems. Palomar is not the right knot for tying directly to nano. It will cut itself. Mono is definitely simpler.
  8. Two grandsons are ate up with it. Youngest brother isn't. Two others aren't to the age yet but I will try my best to give them the bug too.
  9. I've fixed a lot of leaks from the outside of aluminum boats with nothing fancier than JB Weld. Not fixed as in forever, but for as long as it takes to hit that spot again on something. Fill the boat with water, mark the leaking spot or spots, drain, let dry and then go to town. Worth a try if its not a fitting and it's leaky rivets or a small rip in the hull.
  10. We got way more than an inch in Christian County. Every place that water could stand or water could collect and run off was full this morning. Gravel washed into the road, leaves up on the road. Just a LOT of water fell. We had three rounds of storms that woke me up. Don't have an actual measured amount, my gauge isn't out yet. But it was more than an inch for certain. I do know one person in Galena who had a measured three inches in his gauge.
  11. I was at Kissee yesterday. Water was good, Bull Shoals is still coming up. The bite was very spotty. Lots of whites are there but spawning and acting stupid instead of a hard bite. The fish that were being caught were on little jigs with the guys fly fishing, purple swimming minnows, live minnows extremely slow trolled with one size BB split shot, really small rebels and guess what, sliders in various colors. I saw a couple of guys throwing A rigs that were doing OK too. Be prepared to try everything you know
  12. Have fun and post pictures. You're fortunate indeed to be able to fish with your dad. The good part is you're also smart enough to know it.
  13. It was in great shape Saturday. Emerald green and a little high, just right for a really fun float.
  14. Quality fish. Nice.
  15. Yeah, right. But you ARE an accumulator. How many are there if I may ask?
  16. All you guys going on about American Sniper - 100% agreement. It was a LOT better movie than I expected. Really got to the hard parts about what war does to people that fight them and their families. Great movie.

    Ned Rig

Everybody should always fish with what they want to fish with. If you're not asking for advice and don't want it or need it I see no need to dump on people who are answering other people's questions about any particular bait or method or to dump on a method you don't use or care for. It's a low class way of doing business if you ask me.

    What's Cooking?

Tough life. Especially for an eggplant addict like me. Eggplant had salt, pepper, champagne balsamic vinegar and basil EVOO. Salad had in addition to the greens a couple of grapes, a strawberry, roasted red pepper and a few peanuts. Vinegar and oil dressing. Simple, Good.

    What's Cooking?

Here's an amazingly easy and good more or less light dessert cake: Box of angel food cake mix. Can of crushed pineapple. Mix them together - standby for foam. Bake in a 9x12 at 375 until brown on top about 40 minutes. Poor man's pineapple upside down cake. It really is good.
