  1. Go shallow , put on your work boots and flip the bushes . Might not get a ton of bites but they are there . That is where you can win at , and why not fish to win right ! I would fish from mutton to cc . If that's not your style hook up a wacky rigged senko and fish the dam area . You should be able to sight fish the Dam area .
  2. Put in at the state park around 9:00am.got off the water around 5:00pm. Fished really close to the ramp for a bit . I think I seen Bill Bab first thing this morning, gave him the thumbs up or thumbs down . Seemed like he had a good day started. We had an absalute blast today. Caught well over 40 fish, with 11 keeps. And some really nice gogs too. All of our fish came out of 20 ft all the way to 5ft Pretty crazy that you can find bed fish in twenty feet of water, and sight fish them. Small drop shot worm was the bait today,'fished on 30lb power pro braid, attached with the uni to uni and 8lb floro. Texas rigged it on a size one gamagtzu Ewg. Seen a ton of bed fish today. A lot of spots , a couple of smallies and several large mouth . Seen some really big fish today on beds. My brother picked up a cruiser that was 20ft down as it was swimming under the boat . some of the most fun fishing I have ever had. And I fish a ton!!! At one point in the back of a pocket . I seen all three species of fish on beds , huge shad , or skip jack running around . A school of 10 huge carp . And a school of 10-15 large mouth all about 2lbs . It was like the bass pro aquarium! I would say that 1/3 of our fish were on beds. Pretty much every thing we caught was post spawn with the exception of a smallmouth and a couple spots. Best five would have went 14lbs or so. Just an exceptionally fun day . The rock is pretty much on fire right now from what I seen today.
  3. You can buy them at sportsmans warehouse and academy in Springfield . I suggest the new BB1. There are several different gear ratios and two different models. One has anti reverse and one has a limited slip. I suggest the one with true anti reverse , unless your fishing strictly crank baits and jerk baits. They are a very nice smooth reel. I will never buy another reel if its not from lews.
  4. The power pole is about 1500 bucks , 3000 With two of em. iit extends a pole at a max of 8ft down. To anchor your boat. I would say around here if your not fishing Truman , the thing is useless. In my opinion. Just another tool people want .
  5. They bit really well last weekend while in my tournament on Stockton , threw them all back but had one over twenty inches. My buddy duplicated it with several more the next day , he realsed his aswell. They were all grouped up on this one under water bluff. I had never caught a walleye on a Texas rig senko before , but they wanted it . Kinda strange usually get them on crank and jerk baits
  6. Power drive do you fish stockton? For walleye
  7. The power pole / talon deal is hilarious though
  8. I kinda thought it was a joke but it is very hard to tell on the net . Sorry for jumpin you .
  9. Yes sir , help anyone I see on the water to catch more fish . Never have had a problem with people catching and keeping bass. I'm lucky if I catch a walleye and they are always cleaned and fryed . In fact my last post was made the day after my Bfl tournament on table rock with my exact pattern . Some appreciate it others lump every one in to the bass hole category . And I have been on the forum for many years just took a break because of this exact reason . Last year I had a battle with you fins on the a rig . But it was respectful
  10. The moderator would be wise to delete this
  11. When Springfield Lake is rolling mud, the fishing is extremely good. I would go up river past the 65 bridge and fish the backwater areas above that. What happens is the lake flushes mud in from the James River, but these backwater areas stay clean. The fish will pull back into these areas, not only for the clear water, but the baitfish will seek these areas out to get out of the current. Plus the fish are surely making beds in the backwater areas by now. I would have a senko rigged up wackey style, a horeny toad, and a spinner bait. You should crush on them. A few years back I seen a bed in one of these mentioned backwaters that was huge. A real monster must have been on it at one time. GOOD LUCK!!!
  12. Believe it not I caught six while bass fishing on saturday. Every fish in about three feet of water right on the bank. 14'' females ready to explode.
  13. I wasn't targeting crappie last week end but caught about 5 when bass fishing. I'm sure there were more than just those around. They were big ones too. Full of eggs ready to pop here really soon. These were on gravel banks in about 3 feet of water. This was around the 9mm though. If they are that shallow in the clear water. They should be the same in the dirty.
  14. Its either a color or cadence issue. I woud start by switching the cadence with the water temps on the rise the subtle twitches should turn into hard snaps and very short pauses. If that doesn't help change colors. It could be time to change the style of bait to if your throwing a rouge or a husky jerk switch to a x-rap or vision 110 as the water warms the more erratic the better most of the time.
  15. Why would the fisherman have to seen any return for this? Set up check stations just like deer, close to the rivers where the paddle fish run. When the fish is brought in the roe is removed. On you go.
  16. The fish I've caught up there recently have been shallow 10 ft and in jigs and jerkbaits. Transitions of rock and the presence of a channel close to spawning bays are key. I haven't been getting alot of bites in a day but some nice fish.
  17. Totally agree!!! as long has the owner group and the the front office stays together we will win a cup in the next 5 years. Ken Hitchcock is just too good
  18. Sweet!!! They played a solid first period and Allen had to stand on his head for the next two, but we will take the W any way we can get it. Hope Oshie is not hurt too bad
  19. I fished this tournament, I finished 26th, w/ 12.06. 3 oz from a check. I went into this thing with the intent to catch a limit. I didn't care what size the limit was just as long as I held my own and got some points in the first one. I had been practicing down there every weekend for ever. I never got on the A-rig bite. Hence why I only had twelve pounds. Only two of my fish came on the rig, they were both late in the day. One smallmouth about three, the other a nice fatty spotty that would have gone 2.5. The rig bite is something I have zero confidence in, and I wasn't about to hang my whole day on it. I took what the lake gave me and only picked it up after I had my limit. There is a good bite going down by the dam with the brown fish on a rouge. And a random bait I stumbled on last weekend. A Texas rigged Senko. The brown fish are loving it. My father had one on it last weekend that was darn near five. So for all you peeps out there like me, who don't like fishing the rig, there is hope. You just have to put your head down and fish hard, good things will happen. Feel free to ask any question's that arise. It is a pretty solid pattern, just not a lot of size. I probably won't fish the rock until May. I'm looking really forward to Lake of the Ozarks. I did well up there last year in the BFL's. Hopefully she will be good to me again. Good Fishin, Cody
  20. Wouldn't care one bit, I've caught smallmouth on the Huzzah in the summertime when there are 500 canoes. BTW to think your not going to have company on any stream in the state on a nice saturday is crazy. If anyone ever asks me for advice on any lake or river i will give them detailed info. I've fished bass tournaments for years now. And I win on occasion, after the tournament when they are questioning you for an article, I give them the full out truth. Karma brah. Me and you guys are in a total diffrent boat. I like to see people catch fish. Hell I have given people tackle right out of my box. just to make sure they catch a couple. It makes me feel good, and it helps them out also. Plus if you have ever managed a small lake you know you have to keep alot of fish to make them grow big.
  21. Fishing report, I went to an un-named body of water, caught an un-disclosed amount of fish, on an un-named lure. Boy wish I could give more info, but if i did it would destroy the smallmouth population....
  22. Upper bull is good, swan creek, beaver creek. Pomme de terre river, the finley, the upper james, Flat creek, long creek, Kings river. ........ If there is enough water in it to hold a fish, there is good fishing. We might as well take this forum down, since it is broken down by stream or river. This is unreal how some of you people think. Chances are when you think your river has crappy fishing, you are just bad at catching fish.
