  1. Yet he turned KU around big time. This was after he was offensive coordinator for a Nationa Champoinship team. Personaly I think KU blew it out of proportion to justify to the fans his firing, while the real reason was because of one players daddy. That one player still didn't get anywhere. I hope ISU doesn't run up the score if they get the chance.
  2. I've heard good things about this place. It's too close to home for me to have stayed there however and I have no personal information. http://www.tmrbullshoals.net/lodging/
  3. I think you need to clarify whether you are talking about the James river arm of Table Rock or the James river. Very close to one another, but different animals. If you are at Cape Fair you won't be too far from Lake Taneycomo or Roaring River state park, both of which offer trout fishing. They are also different, while both are put and take, RR is small stream bank fishing. Lake Taneycomo can be boat or wading.
  4. Boomer Sooner!
  5. Yeah at this point I think it's the obvious choice to replace the 1854 dual. The only thing I think it lacks is a neutral field and I can't think of any options there.
  6. I think the AR and it's cousins would be a poor choice for home protection. Precision is probly the most important aspect in order to avoid a mishap, and the AR isn't suited for that in close quarters. I would quetion it's use in hog hunting also. 50 and 63 grain bullets don't generate a lot of penetration and a well fed hog has plenty of fat to get through. We killed hogs with 22's, but it was between the eyes. I'm not knocking anyone for owning an assault rifle, if it's what you ike to shoot that's fine, but you can't make it something it isn't..
  7. Well it wouldn't be far from it Ham.
  8. I agree, but I leave the head, but a lot of people clean trout that way.
  9. I would think the bedrock would be a deal breaker. I don't remember any channel in it and a lot of rocks. It's wide enough that I would think it would take a lot of water to make it passable with a motor. The rapids at Elephant Head was pretty shallow when we went through and tough with a loaded canoe, we went left, but there wasn't much there.
  10. When I was a kid it was looked down on to hunt squirrels with anything but a 22 and head shots were mandatory. As far as home invasion goes walls don't offer much substance and firing a gun in side is akin to shotting through leaves, you never know what will stop the round. A shotgun offers the safest method because it's killing power diminishes pretty quick. I just lock my doors and rely on my early warning system, which is solid and dependable. If they get past that I have a 9mm and a lifetime of training that will allow me to make an intelligent choice if it comes to that.
  11. I like mine. I put what I want on it. Make a crust I like and while they may not be better, they're just as good as 90% of the Pizza I've had from shops.
  12. When we put in at Rush there is/was a large bar about 1/2 mile down that had a motor in camp. I know they surely couldn't have been going down with it and the camp looked somewhat long term. I suspect they were catfishing and using it in the long pool at Rush. You can come up the Buffalo 1/4 mile of more I believe and there were several motor boats there when we went out.
  13. Generally drifting something away from the apron will work if it's running deep enough. FYI that's the Apron Hole.
  14. Great!
  15. Nice.
  16. It's hard to be top water when it's working. It has always seemed to me that LM like a lot of action and noise, but SM tend to like the more subtle offer. Not written in stone though.
  17. There should be some small bass, goggle eye and gills moving into the shallows pretty soon. I would throw a small grub, or the like, in something dark like pumpkin, watermelon/red or the like on a jig head.
  18. It's been an aluminum boat manufacturing since the Lowe's started Lowe's. Dianna Lowe's dad strated Richline boats in Richland which is NE of Lebanon. Carl lowe worked for him and he a Dianna opened their own plant in Lebanon where there was a larger work force. I'm not sure when Landau came in, but It was before Tracker and it has had a rocky exisistance. Tracker built there because of the established workforce familiar with the industry and eventually G-3 followed. There is some familiarity with the equipment, welding and overall process that makes it handy to have people who have some understanding. Landau and Lowe's have changed hands a couple of times, but Lowe's remains a major builder.
  19. Don't overlook the access points on the James and the Finley.
  20. The Niangua is always a good candidate. The rainbow and smallie are easy, but the brown and LM not so much.
  21. I suppose everyone had a different reaction to Jerry's post. I thought he was pointing out that while the teen noticed the flag status, neither had gotton the answer, even though one was curious. Accepting that it was for someone named Joan Rivers, who was probably a mystery to them, without wanting more information is probably one point. The main point though is that the biggest attack on US soil didn't come into the picture. I know some will say it's impossible, but I was only 2 1/2 when Pearl Harbor was attacked and that is my oldest memory of an event. The feeling transfered from the adults, the fear or whatever it was stuck with me, even though it was years before I knew anything about the reality.
  22. Lot's of truth there. I might say that you could extend that back to the 50's. The big increse isn't necessarily in people commiting more crimes, but more crimes being created. The governmnet is convinced, the government being those in charge, is convinced that the more control they can apply the more people that will benefit from their superior knowledge.
  23. There had to somebody, otherwise we would never know the "truth" about it.
  24. When I was in USAF munitions school one of our exercises was splitting onto 6 on each side of a "T" stem, which was the walkway. After everyone set their charge the outside 2 would light off and if succcesful would walk away following the path, then the next and so on. If you didn't get it lit the instructor would give you another igniter and you would do it again. during this the number "6"s would wait at the stem of the "T". The whole idea was do it right the first time and you never run from explosives, no matter how little time is left.
  25. Which decade are you talking about Ness?
