Yeah there is no doubt the 380 is handicapped by barrel length and even the length of the bullet is a negative in comparison to your 9mm. Shooting a weapon intended for defense is a different animal than for sport. You should be careful about having your fiance do precise shooting with the 380. I would spend more time shooting at combat targets and get her a 22 to plink and target shoot with. It would build a lot of confidence without bringing mixed signals into the equation. A defense situation generally requires quick reaction and little time to decide what technique to apply.

I suppose when you think about AR stocking and Powersite overflow it's easy to imagine a lot of bows entering the lake and finding significant springs to summer in. There's always a population in the Pothole and i moves down to at least Silver creek in good numbers. I caught one in Beaver creek up in the 160 area and that's probably a long way from any entering point.

First Solo: 12 Foot Or 14 Foot?

I think the spring could be of great value if used right. It would not only offer humidity, but heat in a greenhouse. I think the trick would be to get a flow from it into an open tank and then out.

Also. I've hunted coyotes for a lot of years in my younger days and that isn't even the right color. I've seen some variations from very light to almost black, but not that coloring or markings. If I had seen that I don't know that I would have thought wolf, but I know i would have had dog cross my mind. I've had farm dogs come to my call on rare occasions so I know it's possible.

The "pick" play isn't set in stone. If the defense is in a zone it's hard to pick, but not to block. I'm more concerned with the holding and pass interference. It appear they were allowing a DB to use his arms to hold. The pass in the end zone was apparently based on that. I haven't gone back to it, but my impression at the time was that the DB used his arms to effect a hold on the receiver. I don't really care to see a "fight" over the ball. Sherman may be a little over zealous verbally, but his play in the end zone was perfect as far as what one expects.

I still fail to see all hype over it. I don't see where it could be called a pick. Talib was too far back to challenge and Welker hit him eye to eye, so no cheap shot which I think made it an over zealous block. On the other side he was, Talib, questionable and I suspect Denver was going to make him play every down. I think Belichick was just being over protective because of it. I don't really agree with a lot of the hits allowed in football and it would easy to change the rules some. This play is a good example. A good hard shove would have taken away most of the pursuit by Talib. The same thing when you see a ball go over a receivers head so high he has no chance at it and still gets laid out, late.

I have seen people fishing from them. There are also a couple more north of those. You get to them by taking the walkway from the extreme corner of the north parking lot. Before the really cold weather hit they were getting some out of the Empire slough. I'm not sure how abundant or large they were.

When it comes to boat speed and motors on LOZ I would make sure I listened to what Fishnwrench had to say

While I didn't build it we had one in OR. It was built with a 2X4 main frame with 2X2's to added to give support to fiberglass corrugated roof material. Other then a vent at the door and one at the back in the A frame of the trusses it was sealed with foam used to seal the corrugation. If you're wanting to start vegetables I think a cold frame is more practical though.

MITF, you might look into a drag sail or into building something.

I'm fond of aluminum. I worked for several years at Lowe in Lebanon and Oregon. I've seen a lot of different models built form the hull up and have observed some glass boats built from the color in. With the exception of dedicated bass fishing, I think an aluminum model can better fit multi-species. I would be careful about reviews, a person really needs to be careful about some of them. The biggest problem is you can't separate exaggeration, ignorance or inexperience at times. I have a problem with blind negative reviews.

I admire Manning, he is skilled. He's not the only one, there have been many over the years that I just have to admire. I don't necessarily make that reason to root for them. I have to go with Denver if for no other reason than to give the Chiefs more credibility. They play made the playoffs playing in a division that produced two other playoff teams and one may win it all.

Not yet, but even I can tie a respectable YK2. I'm not talking about the beads you steal from your daughters, but real egg flies.
-
I wondered if that was a true pick given the fact the DB was behind the receiver? I'm kind of anti-Seattle because of Carrol. When he got caught cheating at USC and then just walked away and let them suffer the consequences it was the only time I felt bad for the Trojans.

You did it at a great time. It's probably the most crowded river in the state in the summer. IMO in that stretch the trout are very much structure minded. They seem to gravitate toward breaks if they're available. I'm beginning to question whether the egg fly is anymore effective than the YK2? I know the YK2 is hands down the easiest to tie.

Sights that aren't adjustable just have to be used with "Kentucky windage". They are meant to shoot at the center of the front post which should be level with the top of the rear sight. As far as groups go, that could be a lot of things. Some things that can affect a sight picture are light, weight and balance, the gun itself may bot be capable mechanically, and of course the trigger. I always check out a new pistol or revolver at a bench with a rest if possible, but without at least a two handed hold. The idea is to eliminate the shooter as much as possible in order to establish capability. It's a good idea to candle smoke the sight to eliminate bad light. After you determine what the gun is capable of you can start addressing how to achieve the same thing or ,close, free hand standing. The first thing is to determine how you want to shoot, target or what I call amateur combat. If you spend a lot of time target shooting with a gun meant for defense it can handicap someone who only shoots occasionally. The best way to get into a stance for target shooting is to stand at about 45 degrees to the target. hold the gun arm extended, relax, close your eyes, and let it find the most comfortable spot. It will seem like there is a "notch" where you don't need to apply pressure to move the arm right or left. When you open your eyes shift your feet around so that the gun is now pointing at the target. You will eventually be able to align yourself very close without closing your eyes and able to shift into the right angle. At this point concentrate on the front post, center and squeeze when you're lined up hold when you aren't. Don't push the shot, take it when everything is aligned. The 380 is no match for the 9MM for accuracy and the weight will handicap it against the Beretta. The PK's that I've seen were pretty tight mechanically and will probably do alright to 25 yards.

I agree the refs were too much of a difference. Whether or not it would changed the game is impossible to say, but it sure didn't hurt Seattle. Seattle has been getting by all season with their defense and when you help them you give Seattle an edge. I think the one thing that upset me was the announcers, especially in the AFC game, pointing out they would relax the interference calls. If that's true, and it seemed that it was, it just gives the refs room to make a difference. The players have no way of knowing how far they can go in stretching the rules so the refs can use they "judgement" to alter the game. Fans should demand an exclamation of the remarks and why they appeared to be true. In the SB I have to go with Denver. Denver has the experienced QB, a very reliable defense that isn't that much different than Seattle's and a lot for offense then Wilson and company. Without the right ball bounces and the overlooks the Seahawks would be watching.

Little Bit O Crawdad, Little Bit O Shrimps, Aaah Son!

My wife did a contract in El Dorado AR, near the LA line, and the Walmart there had about 10' of shelf space, top to bottom, of Cajun. They had jars of roux powder in all the shades, canned etoufee, fliet, etc. etc. -
It wasn't the trout park portion of the post that posed a threat, it was area open to keeping that has them stacked up. It';s not about keeping smallmouth or giving away a hotspot. Very few on here give details unless the area is well known. The area detailed isn't well known as a winter hole. It's hard enough to get the MDC to stop people from keeping them in the spring branch, much less telling them where they can have at it. It to each his own, but if you profess to being a guardian of the smallmouth and one of its greatest fans, then you shouldn't throw them to the wolves for some self satisfaction.

I was in the manufacturing side for a few years. The best advice I can give you is to look at Lowe, Ranger, Lund, Tracker and match up preferred layout, motor and price. The differences for the most part aren't that great. It's a very competitive market run by big corporations with about the same eye for quality.

Huh? What are you drinking Chief?

OTF this post was in response to an earlier one when others questioned the self anointed ones reasoning for pointing out a place where smallies were stacked up and easily reached without a boat. So it's not this smart a&&ed post, but the earlier one that wrinkles. He attempted to justify by claiming they were out of season and only stepped in deeper because they weren't out of season. So the fact he doesn't post about any areas close to him, claims the season is closed, so all in all it's somewhat comical that the princess now repeats it all letting everyone know the fish are still there for the taking and still doesn't get it.

Did it go down between River Run and Shadow Rock? I saw one picture of a fire truck that appeared to be at the River Run rip rap. Another was at a rail fence that didn't ring a bell.

Truman's reputation has survived stripers and LOZ hybrids. Texoma is still a destination and stripers were put in there in the 70's. If anything BS will improve eventually. It won't hurt the bank accounts of many who live in the shadow of Table Rock and silver Dollar City if the big fish draws in a few more visitors either. The trout fishing emergency below BS dam will likely pretty much take a chunk of money out Forsyth and the stripers have the potential to put it back several fold.
