I grew up in a town of 5K 2 blocks from a cattle farm and spent most of my time on the farms around and foxes were considered mousers. When I lived in the out back of Laclede county I never lost a chicken to any predators, but they were smart chickens, they knew to come in to the hen house before sundown. I did lose 2 guineas, lavender isn't a good color for them in great horned owl country, my mistake, not the owls.
