How did the float and fly work out? I've had some luck there within roll casting range, but it's rare.

For a long time I used one of the white topped folding tables and kept my supplies, still do, in plastic containers the size of shoe boxes. It made a good surface to tie on because is was white and just rough enough to prevent things from rolling. I would hang a 4' fluorescent strip over it for light.

We had a touch of sleet this morning, but if we got any snow during the night you couldn't prove it now. Just unusually cold.

Wow, I've thought about it, but I don't think I could handle the backcast space.

We put a little smoke on them and then canned them, very tasty. We used to get into a lot of them at times on the Deschutes in OR. I believe they are in the char family, if I remember right. I don't know about Montana, but they were real fond of the carrot fly in OR.

ll smallie to me. The hybrids I've caught have spot lines mixed with the smallie pattern.

We didn't have big concrete dams and trout, ever, so if the environment can stand that it should be able to withstand the reintroduction of a native species.

Same here. They and the cardinals, 4 pair, are year around visitors at my feeders. I also have some ladderbacks and flickers that are dependable.

Interesting. I spent 4 years in the old OP in another century, but while Tomahawk sound familiar it ends there. I did spend a lot of time on Indian, both in KS and MO.

It is tough to buy, but mostly because there were two. I could see maybe some one transporting one to the Finley from Fellows, but for two? Veery interesting.

Nice setup. It does appear you have a lot of cool weather stuff going and you should be fine.

Quick storms don't generally dictate big changes in temperatures. Warm daytime temps coupled with wind and some color will make the fastest changes.

You might want too get an idea of the watersheds and compare that with the NWS radar showing storm amounts. It's not unusual here to see storms vary in intensity as the pass over the state. The upper reaches would be a good plan for the Missouri rivers. You don't have many options for the lower Buffalo. The people at Riley's Station, on the White, are good sources for shuttles and information. Their resort is directly across from the mouth of the Buffalo and offers a secure place to leave a vehicle for 2 or 3 nights. As you probably know there is no there is no escape hatch on the lower Buffalo. Once you leave Rush you're committed.

Sandy aside, a lot homes on the big rivers here were safe except for historical floods. The COE has built enough levees to change all that. The levees have raised the flood levels in unprotected areas quite a bit and it's hard to say that a town, even only 5 or 6 decades old, was built in an area prone to flooding now was a mistake.

Eric I don't see how the New Madrid can be compared to a sand spit or island where people build huge houses for the view. The noise that I see that is the loudest is coming from people who lived on the beach, and they should know the danger to their property and either insure, or if that isn't possible, eat the loss. If more hurricanes are going to be the norm, then they should probably tell people who live in areas guaranteed to have damage and life threatening that they are on thir own. They owe it to the greater population that is living where they must and will also need help. The rebuilding of the inland damages will take time, whether people like it or not. The infrastructure should have a different priority. Personal property should be on a realistic need basis.
