  1. Great report and very nice fish!!!
  2. I really want to say “Thank You” to Dutch publicly for the great donation of lures that he handed over to the local High school fishing team. It was very generous and very much appreciated!! There will be lots of kids that will benefit from your generosity. Thanks again.
  3. That is for sure a great day. Congrats!! The jerk bait is what is working for me too.
  4. That’s very much appreciated. I am in the Springfield area almost daily.
  5. Sorry to hear about your buddy. No worries about the lures.
  6. Are you wanting to sell or donate it? I have a friend that is part of a high school fishing team that I am sure the kids would like to divide up if possible.
  7. Heck - I would even come get’em !!😀😃
  8. Sell them - or send them to Cheesemaster!!!
  9. Great looking smallmouth!! Definitely a good number day. Did you notice what the water temp was? Curious to see if this big cold front drops it more than a degree Or two.... pushes the girls back at all....
  10. Congrats on a good day of jerk bait fishing!! How did your weights end up in your tournament?
  11. Yep. And you know which one I throw too. I am going to hit the top water lures next time out.!! Of course I will start with the jerker first.
  12. 32 fish is a pretty good day for sure. I like to hear that you got one on a buzz bait. Hard to beat the buzz bite!
  13. I could really get use to this fishing thing on a daily basis. Too bad vacation time runs out. Same story as yesterday- jerk bait - jerk bait - jerk bait. They keep eating it so I keep throwing it. Had some nice keepers this morning. If I get a chance I will go back out this afternoon- but the wife has chores for me first. Here are 3 of the 5 keepers. The other 2 were just 15”. Is that little fish I am holding a mean mouth?
  14. Well done. I hope the wife heals up soon.
  15. It sure does!! That’s about all I throw from January to May. With some top water starting very soon.
  16. Taking a few days of vacation and spending more time on the water this week. I went out at 3:30 this afternoon and was back on the trailer at 6:30. Fishing was good. Had some nice keepers that were not just touching the 15” mark this time. The biggest was about 3.5 maybe pushing 4. The jerk bait was the only thing that I used. I caught these 3 on a single transition area that turns into a flat area. I probably had 15 total today in the boat. I had probably 4 or 5 pull off. Water temp was 62.6 and I was in 12 - 15’ of water and the fish were on the bank and out to the boat. I took a page out of Quilbacks and took pictures with the fish on the ruler. 👍
  17. Great - thank you!!
  18. Here is a picture of the net - I am guessing the nose of the fish was at the 20” mark on the net. So maybe it was 26 to 28” total. Any ideas?
  19. I didn’t measure it. When I get time I can measure my net that it is laying on.
  20. I got out for a while today. Pretty good fishing - had 4 keepers that all were just at or over 15”. Total caught was around 18 fish. I only threw the lure you see in the pictures the whole time. I caught a 12” black crappie, spots, largemouth and catfish. I am guessing that the flathead went about #6 but I didn’t have a scale that was working. I guess the channel cat was around #2.5 lbs. I am being a little conservative I think but I am not sure. Any guesses?
  21. It was great!! Thanks to everyone that helped bring food and drinks and setting up everything!!! I am already looking forward to seeing you all again next year!!! Tight lines all!!
  22. Maybe Quillback or MM can post some. I know they were taking pictures.
  23. Yes. Not sure how much further but I am guessing past point 14 easy.
  24. I found out my split ring plies are TERRIBLE!! I need to buy a pair for small split rings. What do you recommend?
  25. Magicworman and I put in at 7:00 this morning. We caught 32 total in 4 hours but limited to 3 keepers is all. Jerk bait was the ticket but Magic caught a few on the A-rig too. It was great to get out there with you spooney - can’t wait to do it again. You are fun to fish with and can teach me a lot more than I know. Water temp was 46.4 and warmed up to almost 50. Fished from virgin bluff to Bridgeport bridge and back.
