  1. Hey Brett, I don't dislike the reel one bit. It was just more of an impulse buy. I already have a few T3s and a Lew's TP. I'm taking a trip to Florida next month, but I didn't want to bring 5 combos with me. I was thinking of bringing maybe 3 of my reels and 2 spare spools so I could switch between braid or other test line if need be. I have one extra spool and was hoping to get another by trade so I don't have to spend anything out of pocket. I like the T3s and TP and think this reel is on par with those, I was just trying to simplify a bit. John
  2. Tell me about it. Catching the biggest littlest fish... seems kind of counter-intuitive.
  3. Well, it's official...
  4. Looking to trade my Daiwa Tatula - 7.3:1 Left Handed Retrieve. Purchased on 10/3, and used on 2 trips. It's a good reel, I just have a few Ballistics already and would like to add another I am willing to trade for any T3 Ballistic, in any gear ratio, and retrive does not matter. Just want it to be in like new condition as well. May also be willing to trade for a regular T3 that may be a little more used. Would also trade for a Lew's Tournament Pro. I'd prefer RIght Hand Retrieve but open to lefts as well.
  5. I was there this morning, looked like they had plenty. I wouldn't worry about missing out on them, but you never know I guess. I'm sure Karma will treat you well for waiting on your fishing buddy. Their rods however looked to be a little picked over on some of the St. Croix, Shimano, Falcon, etc.
  6. Thanks everyone. The fight wasn't much to write home about. Just kind of like pulling in some dead weight that moved every once in a while.
  7. I caught it at Jefferson Lake in Forest Park Took it to the MDC office today to get it witnessed. Official weight was 1.92 pounds.
  8. I was actually trout fishing. It hit a marabou jig. I couldn't believe it at first.
  9. I'm going to submit this for the pole and line state record. I would have rather caught the bass that could eat this shad!
  10. Nice fish.
  11. Sounds fun, I think i'm gonna head to Coffeen. It's a little bit of a shorter drive for me. Thanks for the info.
  12. Thanks for the info Harris. Anyone else on here have a recommendation as to safe wind speeds to launch a boat on Baldwin Lake. I was contemplating making a trip out there for my first time on Sat/Sun, but it looks like the wind is going to be around 10-15 mph. Too much to be safe, or just a little bumpy? Thanks for any help people can provide.
  13. Nice Fish Harris. How were the wind/ waves when you were there saturday?
  14. Just wanted to check on here to see if anyone was going to be fishing the BFL Illini division for the upcoming season. I am a non-boater just trying to see if there are any boaters on here looking for a co-angler to split costs with. Let me know if you would like to pair up. John
  15. Yeah, I'm running into the same issue with the search, at least for the term "Ned rig". Other strings work. The google suggestion is a good one. Just search for "ned rig site:forums.ozarkanglers.com" that will pull up all results from the forum.
  16. I'd be happy to try out any of the white, gray, or olive jigs.
  17. My favorites... White Jig Thomas Buoyant Spoons And this guy... (Casting gear though)
  18. Turtlenecks
  19. Do you do skin mounts only, or replicas as well?
  20. Welcome, where are you from/located?
  21. Went back again yesterday. I'm pretty sure this is the reason for success. Still a little weird though how good it has been working.
  22. I think they put them in at the beginning of November. They obviously have discovered the shad...
  23. Well, I can't say my intentions were to catch trout, but they didn't seem to mind the 14lb test. HA! Caught over a dozen of them both yesterday and today on my lunch break.
  24. Yeah I saw the video of that thing in action. It looks pretty cool.
