  1. I was out yesterday in KC area also. Had four bites in 4 hrs fishing. All bites at first light, really slow later. Tried ned, wart, spoon, swim bait and jerk bait. Tough bite.
  2. Can't get bit on the ned in the KC area. Caught a few Friday morning on a small swimbait and jerk bait. Based on having a few hours fishing this part of the lake, it's a lot better up river. Good report and pics as always.
  3. Well said Danger. Merry Christmas!
  4. Thanks guys. Champ, let me know where y'all will be fishing Saturday. May try and hook up with you. Pardon the pun.
  5. Very nice thumbs. As mentioned in a previous post. I have 4 boxes displaying my wife's grandfathers old lures and one large box of lures that were my Dad's. Both are deceased, so the boxes give me fond memories of these great men.
  6. Thanks for the report. Good to hear the sticker bite is holding up.
  7. Should be good catching Donna and Champ. The wife and I are heading to Lampe this afternoon. I will be out fishing just about everyday thru Sunday. Hope everyone has a Great CHRISTMAS!
  8. Good report Bo and QB. Look forward to seeing the video! I am heading to the Rock this afternoon. Will give it a go for the next few days in the Kimberling City to Baxter areas. Hope Everyone has a great CHRISTMAS!
  9. Not a bad day indeed. I will take 15 any day of the week! Haven't fished in a while, so many demands this time of year, but I do enjoy the Christmas Holidays. Good to hear some good reports.
  10. Agree. Gremax radial is a good trailer tire for the money. Had a set of these on another boat trailer and was very pleased with them. Ball & Prier in Golden carries them.
  11. Surprises me that the fish are this deep, with the low sky and no sun we have been having lately. I suppose they are following the forage?
  12. No one is going to blame you for playing hooky with these kind of results. You are surely on them!
  13. Do they make maps for that part of the lake?
  14. I am good with either the 14th or 21st out of Big M or Eagle Rock. I can also help with anything you need done Quill, just PM me and let me know. This will be a great opportunity to meet other members and have some fun fishing.
  15. Good read Bill. You are correct, fishing boats have come a long way since the 80's. I have known this ever since I bought my first big bass boat 2 years ago. The 20' 225 Skeeter is fast, dry, stable and has great storage for all my gear. My previous boats were smaller, some tin and some glass, but they don't even come close to comparing to the Skeeter.
  16. Great idea Jim and very timely for this time of year. This is just a good reminder for all of us to know there are kids who would love to get outdoors and fish, but just don't have the support nor the means at home. Hope you find the right person or high school bass team for your wonderful gift. I like Fishrman's suggestion. My son in law coaches football and baseball at Cassville, so he sees many young men who don't have the family support or financial means to do much of anything other than going to school and playing sports. If I can help find the right person or group in Cassville just let me know.
  17. The way I see this deal is like all other mergers and buy outs of large Companies. The bottom line is all about the all mighty $$$$$$. The stock holders of Fish Holdings LLC just made a crap load of money for selling their Company. A lot more money than they could make in a lifetime of normal operations. There will be changes that will effect both Fish Holdings and Bass Pro. Time will tell what those changes will be. I just hope they are positive, but have my doubts that they will be beneficial for Ranger, Stratos and Triton.
  18. You are correct abkeenan. There is nothing quiet like or as exciting as the take on the jerk bait. Concentration at all times is a must as most will take it on the pause. I am always watching my line as it enters the surface of the water so that I can detect the slightest hits. I don't consider myself an expert by any means and still learn things every time I fish it. The way to learn with any new technique is to commit to throwing it, sometimes that means leaving your other favorite techniques/rods in the rod box or take them out of the boat.
  19. Very good day of fishing. That is a good one Donna! Thanks for the report.
  20. Very nice fish and a good outing for such a short time fishing.
  21. Good day to pick to go fishing. I am with you on the Ned bite, hard to beat the action on the lite tackle.
  22. Nice report and utilization of your equipment. Good looking stringer.
  23. Hope everyone has a wonderful Thanksgiving holiday. I will be out chunking and winding in the Kimberling City area Friday and Saturday. If anyone is in this area of the lake and see a red, white, and black Skeeter stop by and say hello.
  24. I don't have many pre rapala warts and the colors aren't good, but I don't have any trouble catching them on the new ones including Brads wigglers. As far as my small to medium size crank rod, I use a 7' med action Abu Veritas winch series and Lews 5.4:1 reel. Very light set up, cast very long, soft tip but with some backbone. This combo is perfect for square bills also. I hope your right about the HOGS winning denjac cause I would hate for you to loose your war eagles. WPS!
