  1. Well written Champ. You hit the nail on the head with your information. I do however agree with merc on how well Texas takes care of the lakes under their control. I don't know where the revenue comes from to fund their stocking efforts, but whatever they are doing it works.
  2. Better go buy you some more spin bait's (spy bait) Quill. Hook Line and Sinker had a good selection last time I was in there. Thanks for the report. Fall can't get here soon enough for me. Merc: Appreciate the info about Cow Creek area. What technique were you using for the Senko's?
  3. Good info Fish. This time of year we'll all scratching our heads trying to catch fish on something other than with a drop shot.
  4. I was fishing it on 6 # mono, and have not tried it on any other lb line.
  5. I was fishing off the end of our community dock a few weeks ago after dark around a submersible light, and the glow of the light made the bubbles show up. I thought since there were hundreds of small minnows and shad around the light and mostly perch feeding on them that the feeding fish was causing the bubbles. Does anyone else has an idea of what is causing the bubbles?
  6. I fished them on several outings this spring. I caught about a dozen fish on it, mostly K's. Fished it like a grub, slow rolling it close to the bottom. I haven't been fishing much lately, but check out Pete Wenners fishing report video last week. He reports it's working good in open water on bass close to the surface that won't hit a TW.
  7. Sorry about the bulb problem. I don't know much about matters like that, but hopefully you'll have the Skeeter back on the water soon at very little out of pocket.
  8. Great day for you QB. Sounds like the TW action has picked up some, at least up river. Thanks for the report.
  9. Thumbs: Congrats on the Skeeter/Yamaha purchase. I have been running an 06 Skeeter 225 for a about a year now, and really like it. The ride is awesome, front deck and lay out is really nice. Hope you like it as much as i do mine.
  10. Cooler weather must be helping the TW bite. Haven't fished much, but have caught a few keepers the last few evenings on walking baits on points east of the highway 13 bridge.
  11. Thanks for the feed back guys. May be a tough deal on the Rock, but I agree with bo, it sure is relaxing and amazing to watch the feeding frenzy around the light.
  12. I wonder if the bridge piers of the KC bridge in the boat would be a good location?
  13. The wife and I are on vacation in the KC area. We bought a green glow light yesterday and set it up on the dock last night hoping to catch some fish. Within an hour we had all kinds of bait fish around the light including gills, bass and gar. We tried small swimming minnows, hair jigs, and some other small plastics all on 1/16 and 1/8 jig heads. Bottom line we didn't catch any fish. Is anyone doing this? If so I would appreciate any tips. Thanks
  14. Thanks for posting the pic Danger, and a great idea to put it up there. I assume the pic is of Table Rock Dam? I will also say that getting that secured to the Dam was rather difficult.
  15. Good report. Nice shallow water pattern.
  16. I like the looks of the surface from the highway, but haven't been in the parking lot since they finished the project.
  17. Thanks for posting this information Dennis. I have been wondering why they used pavers on the parking lot instead of asphalt. Great project with great benefits to the lake!
  18. Fished for a short while Sunday morning, threw a walking TW bait for about 30 minutes, didn't even get a look. Dave: Nice that you can turn the boat over to your daughter to guide you around, I'll bet she enjoyed running things as much as the fishing. Good report, I agree about your information on main lake gravel banks, points and secondary points for SM. The Ned down to 20' has been the deal for me lately.
  19. tse90. Sorry for high jacking your post.
  20. No, it's not all about bass. If you read my previous post correctly I mentioned other smaller species, which are included in your list, as being affected by a shortage of forage. Look at Beaver for example, TR is a much better fishery, and I think one of the reasons is that there aren't many if any stripers in TR. IMO
  21. I agree Wrench that Merc in the picture is one ugly mother. The sharp line block style of the new Rudes doesn't look too bad in comparison.
  22. I am a member of the other crowd and do mostly fish for bass. You can either believe the studies that stripers in our lakes don't have an impact on forage populations, and therefore don't effect other species of fish, but I am not buying it. They do consume massive amounts of forage which can impact other smaller game fish abilities to find and catch the same forage.
  23. A little too radical design for my tastes. Might change my mind to see one in person. I have been pleased with the performance and reliability of my 06 Yamaha hpdi, but I haven't had it very long. Hope it last a while as I would hate to have to pony up the $$$$$ for anything new.
  24. You had better watch out champ, although very funny!
  25. Good lookin smallie by the Net Monkey. Sounds like you had a great week with the family Dave, and some good fishing as well.
