  1. I have used a 7' medium action crankbait rod to throw the small swimmer, but the jig head would need to be at lease 1/4 oz or heavier. Currently using a 7' medium action spinning rod with 10 lb power pro braid with a section of 8 lb fluoro leader. With the zero stretch and feel of this line set up you must wait until the rod loads or you feel the weight of the fish. I prefer the braid due to the fact that you can make supper long cast even into the wind with no back lash, and you can feel is exceptional. I use a 7' medium light spinning rod with 6 or 8 lb fluoro or mono for grub fishing.
  2. This is very yoda like Dave.
  3. Heck of a day. Congrats and thanks for posting your results.
  4. You guys put together a fairly nice day considering the conditions, and other reports. Way to be a trooper Jeb, hope the collar bone gets better soon where you can get after them better. I have been on the sidelines since last Sunday, nearly cut my thumb off launching the boat. Trying to push the bow of the boat off the front roller, and when the bow decided to go down off the trailer my thumb was caught between the roller and the bow. Stitches will be out this Wednesday, and hopefully will be back in action. Bad time to be hurt, and can't fish.
  5. Thanks Heather. I just thought since Dave wasn't posting anything that he just didn't come in off the lake. Fishing was so good that he took a sleeping bag and slept in the boat.
  6. Dave you are right about Roger opening the Corner Drive Inn. He has been trying to sell it, and I didn't know if he was going to open this year. Can't wait for a good old burger.
  7. Really nice work. They are almost too nice to fish with.
  8. Another fine day. I am like Champ, just hate to go to the office when the catching is this good. Thanks for the reports Bill, keep em going.
  9. Excellent video Don. Great job of putting it together. You guys were having too much fun!
  10. Well said Dave. The little rig is not a cover water bait. If you fish it that way you will miss the majority of the fish or not even get bit on it. The beauty of it is you spend time fishing/catching, not running all over the lake burning gas and covering water.
  11. Congrats on the 2nd place Jason. The weight was a good nights work.
  12. Incredible fish catching action. Almost hurts to read the reports coming in everyday. Congrats on another great day.
  13. As a kid I caught many good carp on Wheaties. They nearly pulled us in the lake, those things can tear your tackle up!
  14. You are wearing them out Dave. Good work, and that was a nice bonus crappie.
  15. The Rock is on FIRE and your on FIRE QB. When are you going to start targeting carp and buffalo? You' re catching everything else.
  16. Is this really turnover, murky water coming down stream, or suspending algae? Is it affecting the catching?
  17. I took it that the head Bill was referring to is the Shakey Head.
  18. Good report Fish. Lots of crappie and bass, what a day up the Kings.
  19. Awesome day for you and your better half Topwater,
  20. I ran up to point 9 Saturday afternoon, and the brown water was everywhere. Suppose you had to run down lake to find the clear stuff? Also discovered some of the bigger pockets stayed clear.
  21. Another good day Dave. The Rock is on FIRE, and just starting to crank up!
  22. Appears like your about to stock the freezer. Good catching.
  23. That's funny plug. I am glad you brought the missing post thing up Quill. Several post made this morning are gone. I just though Phil was playing with our minds.
  24. Very nice catching Bill. You have some very happy clients that booked their trips for this time of year!
  25. Nice going, you and Donna certainly had a great day!
