All I did was correct someone who made up completely false information. Ive never claimed to be smarter than anyone, but a statement that was made that was 100% wrong, so i corrected that statement, providing the rational reasoning (and science) behind it. You gave me the title of "smartest guy in the room" and you gave yourself the title of "knuckle dragging idiot" Hog wally called me a "fencepost" I think IDK, but i have yet to call people names, just simply stating undisputed facts. The problem is that when certain undisputed facts dont align with certain agendas/beliefs, than the people relaying the facts are dismissed. Not very many people "willingly" hang out with me though, so your correct. Im def not a very likeable person. -

Im glad that i dont know anybody like you in real life. Its like your a weird caricature of something/someone that i just cant quite put my finger on. Please please tell me that your ultra religious? That would seal the deal. -
4" baits for crappie? holy cow! NIce catch!!

I agree with this, but replacement hooks are super cheap...and I have 100% confidence that it makes a difference in certain situations. I used to have lots of walleyes shake free at the boat, now every flicker shad i use has #4 daiichis or gammies, and its a pretty rare occurrence anymore with me. Obviously operator error will cause em to come unbuttoned, but much less so with good trebles.

Nice Haul! Pretty impressive for the end of january.

I deleted this cuz i didnt want to upset anyone....but ive tried just about every aftermarket treble hook, and i just simply dont have the results with anything else....people say triple grips are the best, but i think they suck! I longline for walleye alot, as well as fish topwaters and jerkbaits all the time. All of these techniques require the best hooks you can get your hands on IMO. Walleye are gentle shakers with bony mouths, so they create alot of slack. Topwaters and jerkbaits are usually siting still when a fish eats it. These situations require hooks grab and not let go, and ive been burned too many times to go any other route.

Sweet new bait and ten bucks is a steal for a crank bait nowadays! Speaking of rapala baits....I bought a few ripping raps that were on sale. Anybody have any reviews? The only lip less baits I've ever used were xr50s and redeye shads, they kinda have a different look. I have a box full of shad raps that were my grandads but I've found that flicker shads work better for me. I do like xraps however I think they are great jerkbaits. Gotta replace hooks on em, and I like to feather my own treble hooks.

Of course, but I am more fortunate than most in that my wife and son also enjoy outdoors. I'm also fortunate that I have the means to be able to have a boat and lots of fishing gear in addition to living costs. Many folks (most in fact) that I know do not have that same luxury. My friends that fish have one or two rod not reel combos from walmart. Until I saw this forum I had no idea that boats we're 50 grand and rod and reel combos were a thousand bucks. I never realized people had that much money to spend on that stuff lol.

I like the looks of them. I wanna try the deeper running jerkbait. And the lip less crank has a unique look. If any of them work half as well as flicker shad for trolling then I'm in! I am curious of the difference between the bad shad and the flicker shad.

I like this thread. It's nice to hear folks talking about getting the Job done with cheaper gear.

New regs on Spotted bass for Truman Lake

This crappie guy loves 12 inch bass! They do eat very very well IMO. I agree with you that nothing will change. -
lol and gross at where this thread is headed.....while on the topic of finesse stuff, I had a blast this year with split shots and crawlers using a 6ft 6inch fenwick river runner. Its a light power, fast action, only rated for 4-8# line. Spooled with 4# mono and a 16th oz split shot it was super fun times. Its a great little rod for only 100 bucks. The beauty of the finnesse stuff at table rock is that with all that wide open water you can play the fish and really enjoy the battle. I use the same setup for crappie in the swamp that i fish normally and if you hook a nice bass your pretty much toast, you need the big stuff for 2# of bass and 5# of milfoil (or whatever that stuff is)

Fortunately or unfortunately, there is no such thing as settled science...every discovery opens the door to more and more questions, but i dont think that is justification for discounting what has been learned. Is gravity "settled science"? IDK, but I make the assumption it will work for me all the time. Nobody really understands quantum mechanics, but almost all technology is completely reliant on quantum mechanical principles which we dont question at all with no understanding. For some reason, though, some people pick and choose what science we care to rely on. Imagine the first person to ever eat a microwave cooked meal? What a gamble! In regards to god, my mother is quite religious, there is nothing wrong with being faithful...Its just not for me, i dont see any evidence of an afterlife. What Ive found that its very easy for one to accept another persons mythology for just that, but its very difficult to admit to ones self. For example...polytheistic beliefs are not taken seriously by anyone anymore. -

Acid rain is primarily from sulfur, nitrogen, and phosphorus emissions. All have been dramatically decreased since the 1970's. It was a great cooperative environmental effort actually. So...it still is a problem...as any oxide of a nonmetal will react with water for form an acid, so a local concentration that somehow is leaked can cause problems in an area just down wind...but globally the problem has been decreased. -

Another thing worth nothing is that we desperately need our carbon reserves for our growing needs for plastics. Plastics, coatings, additives, chemicals computers and everything else we think of is dependant on carbon sources. It's all oil every piece of plastic. Once it's burned up its gone forever. Don't you think future humans would like some plastic too? This stuff needs to be recycled and treated like the valuable resource it is because in the future it willing not be nearly as abundant. -

Right...won't effect us so who cares...I'll be in my long sleep when the real problems happen. I actually did post something educational. Unlike you and others who point to the mythical "sketchy science" argument without actually explaining what science is sketchy? How its flawed? You can berate me for being a know it all or whatever but it's meaningless if you can't defend your own argument with anything. I'm not against ford excursions by the way. I loved my old f150. It's just that at some point taking all the carbon in the ground and burning it all in the sky just doesn't seem all that sustainable. How bout we focus on solar energy? Check out dye sensitized solar cells. Super cool stuff. Sustainable, cheap, and best of all unlimited. -

Bro? what are you wearing a super tight pink shirt? Cmon man...Im an adult, not a weird trendy hipster guy. Yes, though, I am mad. People can and do blatantly lie about things they clearly dont understand. Maybe its cuz im not old and nearing the end of my life, maybe its cuz i have a small son at home, and am worried about his future, idk, but i just wish that people would look and see the obvious...but, as was mentioned its highly politicized...so it doesnt matter what the actual experts have to say anymore, cuz clearly ted cruz and hillary knows better. Would you tell a fishing guide a better spot to go? Or would you tell your DR what tests to run? -

You wasted your time and money then, cuz you have interpreted very simple data incorrectly. Also...there is nothing to interpret anyway, do you have to interpret that water is wet? So what is there to interpret about CO2 absorbing IR light? its not narcassistic at all....you as 1 person cant do jack...but 8 billion of us can. When people believe a certain thing to be true, the resist all data, and cant look objectively. Conservative voices have pounded in your brain that its all hogwash, cuz there is still lots of money to be made. The same voices said cigarettes dont cause cancer. They have not looked at data objectively cuz their livelyhood depends on carbon reserves.
