  1. I believe when you breed a characteristic into a animal it becomes a part of their mental makeup in their genes. Therefore you can suppress it thru training but it will still be there and can arise at anytime. It happens all the time with people who take in wild animals and "TAME THEM".
  2. If they charged up to him in a group I am betting he will get off because he will have self defense on his side. Smalliebig...... It is his property they just have right to passage more or less. It is a very complicated thing thats for sure. It might well go all the way to the Mo supreme court before we maybe here a final decision. And it could go further with national results. I think waterway property owners are going to band together over this. I would hate to see it go to the feds.
  3. I have never seen such a thing as you describe. I guess it is possible though. Could be the owner never even put it there.
  4. Ness even I am shocked at that 5$3. I know I seen the when I posted. I have a lot less problems on the computer. But my wife is on it all day. I am trying to figure out how I done that. Well hell with it. I am getting tired of struggling with posting anyway. Main reason I got on here was to share fishing talk with Wrench.
  5. Wrench was 5$3 St Bernard as scary as the Pelican that attempted to remove your family jewel when he attact you a couple months ago.
  6. I just talked to the owner of the big black dog. He is a giant schnauzer weighs 115 lbs. they had to destroy the pit bull he ripped him real good. If I seen that big black thing coming at me I would have run. I like him and we have a pleasant relationship but I got a lot of respect for him
  7. We have a. neighbor that his son was threatened by a pit bull. I never seen it but know there is some summer person has one or did. The neighbors dog tore into that pit bull and tore him up pretty good. I do not know what breed he is. He something not to common. He weighs well over 100 lbs and he is slender. Tremendous musclier legs. He is jet black and has a head like a scotty terrier. He told me the name but I forgot it.All I can remember is him saying they originated in WW1 and they were German war dogs. I love hime he has a lot of deer around here scared to death about coming out on the point I live on. I have never seen another one but him.
  8. It sounds to me like he has refused to surrender the dog. Animals will reflect there owners. Has he threatened you with a baseball bat or anything Mitch. He sounds like a whole neighborhood problem.
  9. How large is lake springfield
  10. Thing that gets me is according to Mitch's post this fool is not co-operating with the police. That electric fence should have stopped that dog. there must have been something wrong in the system. I had a friend once that had the biggest Rottwellers that were the biggest dogs by far that I ever seen. They would not dare go over that shock line. The thing is they get over about 15 ft to the other side some models of collars stop working collar. I have heard of dogs that learned that and would go through very fast to stop the collar. It is clearly a case I think of some sort of negligence on the part of the owner. He is going to pay and pay more and then he will move hopefully. Because I sure would not want him living there after this is over.
  11. I got a CHLOE as well and in O Fallon o boots. She is a good little 4 yr old human girl. She was here last week. for 5 days. good little girl or not she can make old arthritic PaPa feel like he has been attact by a pit bull.
  12. Mitch i sent a msg to wrench about your jigs. i cannot get through to you. you might have more there than you realize. ever make them in 3/16 and 5/16 that would be nice.
  13. all I want is. a lot of rain on LOZ these fish are acting a bit like summer stagnation in the water.
  14. There is not much you can really do about the passing of people. This might seem strange. Be happy your father did not have to go through a lot of suffering and sitting there waiting for it to come. I have seen friends go through some real nasty periods before they died. My father was 47 when he died. I was a young sailor at the time off the coast of Lebanon playing some dangerous games with the Russians. By the time I got home he was buried. You know I am thankful I never seen him in the casket. I know I would remember that the rest of my days. Phil. Dying young is not so bad but living to long can sure be. I am getting closer every year to that point. One of my old fishing friends currently has terminal cancer. He has refused all treatment and has between 4 and 6 months left. That is what I will do myself.
  15. First off I would like to know the definition of suspending perfectly. Sometime you want them to rise slowly other times to sink. This is adjusted by those tiny stick on lead strips. Most people I have fished with go for the slow rise. I still think $25 for a jerk bait is ridiculous. that type lure has a awful lot more to do with the anglers ability than the lure.
  16. i would say at $25 a shot they are a rip off.
  17. i expend a loy of my bass fishing effort in catching big bass. I target Lunkers. It is not a daily thing but when you catch them it makes it all worth it. in the process I catch many every year over three. I find it hard to believe that almost all bass 3 lbs and larger would just inhale that net rig all the way into there gullet before you could blink your eye. I do not use anything that small in my quest anyway. But I am sure it would be a problem if I did
  18. I had my share of crappie fishermen by the dock area. All here at the wrong time fishing in the wrong spot. they tend to put the bow of their boat into the stall so they can flip jigs down the side of the lift. Not a good practice. Someone got his bow in the to close to the motor and a large wake caught him and he hit the motor tearing up the prop. I am going to put a sign down there to bot fish close to the motor. I never bother anyone fishing. I have a 2 stall dock and the other one is blocked with a 2x10 across it. A lot of people think I am trying to block access to a crappie bed. WRONG there are crappie there but the real stuff is not there. The reason for the 2x10 is to give added support to the frame because there is no lift in there to do that." The strange thing in my area is the lack of bluegills around the dock. I take that as a sign the fish level of activities. They certainly were late this year. They were around before the cold snap for only about a day or so. But since then I have not seen one. It seems like they should have been back by now.
  19. Every picture I see of this bed rig it is stuck in their throat. How often does this happen????? I rarely fail to lip hook a bass.
  20. I have seen that bamk line in that cove but cannot place where it was. I rarely leave the gravois anymore. Have been a PAW PAW for last 4 days. nd ave only been out on the water one time. And that was to take get for a boat ride. We are catching some real nice crappie in the evening and again in the morning at pink up time. The gin clear water will about foul things up for most boat fishermen right now during the day. It makes crappie and bass both spooky.
  21. thing about that guy is he spent all his time in the woods. They say there was no better the real indians would have admired him. They walked right by him a couple times trying to catch him. someone who know him say he used to catch deer with his bare hands. He gave them a real merry chase for some time.
  22. To be real truthful with you I hope LOZ stays there. Because In know better.
  23. that isthe way to do it right now. i will enjoy those same deep fish in the last hour or so of daylight when the big mamas that are sitting out there in a pre spawn mode rise to feed. provided the darn boat traffic calms down more.
  24. that is the thing being able to fish.
