  1. not unless I fall put of the boat. then if I do not get out of that water very fact it will be my last swim. At this temperature you can be a goner in a few minutes. It is really a dangerous time to be out in a boat.
  2. I took the temperature off my dack a few days ago and The gravois here was 35 degrees. we had two windless nights in a row and wake up both mornings with solid sheets of ice covering the whole lake. We also crossed the tole bridge about 9am and as far as you could see up and down the lake it was frozen. When we came back at 12:30 it was clear. At any rate is in one cold body of water.
  3. Very Sorry Al.
  4. there you go what they are.doing down there is illegal simplest thing would be to just mark if off as a no fishing zone it would seem to me.
  5. In think it is. I thin unless the MDC specially authorizes a action then it is not allowed. I read somewhere where the regulation were meant to spell out what you can do not what you cant do.
  6. Well i am honest about that also. I just do not tell anyone other than a very few people i have known for a long time. even then we fish differently and it does not matter.
  7. No I am talking about largemouth wayne. I usually tell him how I did everyday. I did not send many pictures last year that is for sure. Only caught 6 that size. I did catch a 21" SM. in Canada years ago on Eagle Lake Ontario. I do not try to impress him. I just send them as a private message so that he does not think I am pulling his leg. I hope to send him more than just 6 this year. I truly hunt those big bass. It is what I like to do. I am really not that interested in catching a lot of fish. I think i am in the last stage of that old saying about a fisherman's life. It goes like. First he wants to catch fish, then he wants to catch a lot of fish, then he wants to catch certain fish, then the want to catch big certain fish, then he just more or less wants to fish. That is Me. 3 to 4 hrs a day on the water. If I catch them feeding fine if I don't I go on in and set on my deck and look over our large garden.
  8. not in Ark or Mo. we do not ace anything like stand your ground. If you shoot a person that is attacking you with bare hands they will send you up for at least manslaughter.
  9. I feel like a agent should just ne checking and standing around watching it would be a determent. either that or close fishing in the area. I think the later would be the most effective. In. my view it is therefore illegal. amd someone should be pinching them for it. I would be even better if they were to shut the area off.
  10. Sometimes dead fish under the water sre not. I have seen a couple laying on there sides before looking dead and touched them with a rod tip and they swam away real well. One was a darn good sized hybred laying under my weighbors walkway in about 4 ft of water. we was going to look at it so we got a landing net out. It no more went through the surface and he up and scooted away. I do not understand why they do that but evecently they do .
  11. Champ I would be happy with 50,s around here. I was down on the dock 2 days ago and dropped a themometer in the water about a foot and it came up 35 degrees. T.hat night as far as In know the whole Gravois arm almost froze over again. In spite of it all I think the days are getting longer enough that the bass are getting on the move some. I am going to hit the chunk bank in the sunny afternoons in a day or so. About fit to be tied with this weather. I think we got to go baby sit St Louis this weekend as well. So it will be Monday or Sunday afternoon before I can take a shot.
  12. Wayne Where is the conservation agents. Snagging is against the law. There a season for spoonbill but nothing else. It is almost impossible to catch a spoonbill in a sporting manner. I caught one one time tuning a plug. I think a wiggle wart that was not running straight. He must have swam into the line and the line crossed his bill and as I retrieved it slid up to that soft boney spot where it end by his head and hooked him.
  13. i never knew that. Cannot ever remember seeing one. well you learn every day.
  14. The methodist minister at the at the church in Laurie is a hog hunter. he goes out to Okla a couple times a yea. I doubt he would do that if there were many.
  15. On new lure i have bought is a BBZ-1. I have been practicing with that. I think it has some presentation options. I also intend on buying some giant straight worms maybe some creatures. You guys that like the net rig should look at those little 31/2 " sinkos bass pro just started selling recently. I did not see them in the catalog but you get I think 17 or 18 in a bag they would fit right on a 1/8 oz or 1/16 oz jig. might be cheaper that breaking big sinkos in half.
  16. That is why they cannot tolerate LOZ. I understand they were tried onetime.

21.25 if I recall right on Eagle Lake Ontario.
  18. billithead send him pictures. I do it when I het one 21" or longer. except for two in one evening and left the camera at home.
  19. I has seen some dead shad on LOZ but nothing alarming. I do bot think we will know till we get out there for awhile.
  20. I measure also. I think that is a more accurate way. Weight can vary a great deal between fish of a given length.
  21. I see Phil's point clearly as well as some others. I see that it is a rule in some trout parks so it would seem maybe it need to be a rule there. That would seem the simple way to do that. But asking the legislature of Missouri to make a law would be a invitation to trouble. You can bet can bet they get there T's crossed and I's dotted but you can almost bet the words will not be so solid.
  22. I do not see any shame part to it. It seems like a smart way to attract the fish. Unless it does environmental damage are hurts the trout it is fine with me. what about. those of. us who build crappie beds to attract crappie and bass. really the same thing.
  23. The 11 inch ledge worm looks pretty good. I will look around for them at pro bass when I go to springfield in a few weeks. I never buy a plastic bait unless Incan see it in the bag and feel it. even then i sometimes wont like it. all brands of plastic worms are not the same even if they appear the same. some are more buoyant than others, tuffet, etc. I do need some some straight worms this size. I need to work them into my presentation. Like i have said on here before my presentation is always with the lightest possible weight need to get it there. I rarely use more than 1/4 oz and sometimes no weight.
  24. Wayne you sound like me. Watch out for the bones. They are no fun I know that.
  25. Ethics Ness they say.I looked it up MDC does have a list of ethics. Basically it is a practice of attacting fish. something akin to chumming. But it certainly is not against the law. I know people use handfulls of corn to draw carp and buffalo in. Also poeple that chop up shad and chum with them.
