I know most maps suck for LOZ. Fishing nodes ridges and humps are really my thing. Many are tiny things that only rise are fall a few feet. Most maps you see of LOZ are based on a 20 ft contour topos that were made in the 1930s when they built the dam and did not show even then. But the natural bottom erosion of the lake has changed it even more. those kind of bottom structures or devils to find.

Falling Overboard - Life Jackets Are A Must

I myself am very careful in water under 55 degrees. At my age. (74) with a questionable heart and other things I know I would would not last long. When the body temperature drops so will the heart. Only experience I have ever had with this was in the late 50s 500 miles north of the arctic circle we had two S2F anti submarine aircraft collide and both went down. I remember the crews had what they then called poopy suits that were suppose to protect them if they went in. It took a chopper about 15 minutes to go to them but all six were dead. I think one or two from injury and the rest from exposure. I realize that is extreme cold but I still think it is less than 10 minutes in the 30s. It is a wonder more people do not drown from this. -
that would ne flooding. I know its been tried on this site but I think Phil got that fixed.

I know nothing about these paddle craft canoes what happens to the paddles if you hit a shoal

champ do you see any brown ons over there i think they come in the spring if i remember correctly.

That is what I am hoping for Jerry. there has been some breakdown late this evening but no cracks as of yet around here. I think a lot of the cracking has to do with the wind. Thats the scary part for me. We have been real calm here on the gravois nearly all day. Maybe they caught that wind down there. Jerry have you ever fished In Brunswick lake down there by you. I have done that oneBut do not recognize the name Killarney. There used to be a lake was owned by the Lead company down near 67 ever fish in that.

i been watching the nice all day. thru the window. i have not seen one crack appear. i turned off my de icer yesterday about noon. i had a place cleared out into the lake about 30ft in front of my dock. it froze right back by about midnight. That was a surprise since the temperature in the air was still higher than freezing. By morning it was better than 1/2 " This ice must be very very cold and hard. Right now it looks like there a tiny amount of melt on top of it. Normally I would expect to see some cracking by now.

I have seen shad that size in Winfield dam tailwaters

I know your joking Mitch but the attitude of people out fishing is one of the things that is about to drive me away from the sport. I remember when everyone was out to have a good time. I do not feel it is like that anymore and I miss those times.

i would have never believed that was possible.but there it is.

I know about lake 33 its been that way for many years. I lived a couple of miles from there.

I see were suppose to have thunder storms thirsday. would be nice of we got a good warm rain on top of this ice. I think that would thin it enough to reduce a lot of the threat to dock damage.

there are brow. pelicans also i think we had a few of them last yr also

I do not read all this stuff But if some of them are who I think I know who some of them are and I would never make a put down remark about them I have only fished 5 to 7 very small tournaments in my life. And yes I won a tiny bit. I jut did not like doing it. It is not my idea of the sport at all. I do not really think it promotes bass fishing. I think it promotes tournament fishing and the resulting commercialization that has led to nothing but higher and higher prices. I do not believe the sport was meant to be competitive. As far as I can see the whole world of fishing has turned into a hustle. As far as the calling you a hustler that was told to me when I ask someone who was bassin bob. After looking at your site I still think your not doing this stuff out of the goodness of your heart. No business man does.

Do any of you get the swans Great big beautiful Trumpeters. I seen 6 here the other day in a small open spot that never never froze. The are really something. A few years ago the neighbors were feeding about 4 of them bread. After a few days they came back at daylight every day wanting to be fed. I cannot hear them but it must be some racket when they start in. My wife said it will wake you out of a dead sleep and we are a good 60 ft away in the other end of the house.

There is freedom of speech on Ozark Anglers but the site administrators do have a right to edit things. I agree with that. Lilly is paying for it. It is his.

Ask Bob he should know that. You can yac all you want but I do not agree with giving out everything. and i am surprised really that some of your lakes best fisherman will do that. finding the fish and the pattern is a big part of fishing. And Im am sorry Bob but this looks like a business venture to me. That is all I will have to say about it.
-
Mitch I agree with you 1000 %. I feel it is part of the fishing to establish the pattern and find the fish. You can bet if people get specifics they are going to jump right on it.I have had it happen with my crappie bed here at the house. There are not many days that there is not at least one or two boats coming by fishing it. And it has severely hurt the crappie fishing. The idea that you cannot catch the other guys fish is a big maybe. It depends on a shift in the bite pattern. I hate tot see maps and what have you marking exactly where to go and what to use. It to me is only !/2 of catching the fish. I do not like to be told I want to do it all myself. I do not feel like I really have caught something if I am told what and where. I do not even think it is good conservation practice either. I am also not to thrilled about tournaments I think they kill a more fish than they know. If you tell someone where to go and what to use then nothing happens I would feel a little responsible. I do not need that either.

goose they sure do. It is a Ipad. I have no control some of it. I have made post and checked them and posted them and they come back with things like paragraphs devised sentences. I can wave my hand over this screen without touching it and i can get a reaction. I hope this is the last time for this thing My wife got a new 15" apple for our 50th wedding aniv

I really dont give a darn. I was told your a tournament sponsor. Your making plenty off this I bet. i have never been to your site do bot care to got there. I was told you are a enterpriser. Lets just call it that. i do not really care for people telling every pone on the internet where to go when to go and what to use. Most of us had to learn that. and at 100 bucks membership. It seems pretty outrageous.

I am a little surprised nome of you river fishermen ever mention fishing the root wads. I know its hard but there is a lot of big fish lay under the the holes they form. its a hard cat to get a smaller jig down in there right -
they come thru LOZ every year but this year it is still frozen they migrate a but like ducks

the only thing I can say about these winter floats is be real careful to stay out of the water. I spent 2 months 5oo miles north of the arctic circle on the flight deck of a aircraft carrier in the late 50s proving we could track soviet subs in there back yard and several months in the north atlantic in the winter time. I realize it was colder than you will find around here but we had a course in cold water danger. I think in the 30s you only have minutes. I believe it is a dangerous undertaking. That goes for lakes as well. I think the older you get it is even more the worse it gets. When I go out even with water around 50 I do not forget even at that temperature it can kill you. you can bundle up it a lot of clothes but then you might not be able to swim.
