That stuff of restricting anyone from fishing commercial docks sounds like it would make a interesting court case.. It would seem to me that about everyone of those commercial docks would have dock would have a big pile of brush under them placed there by the owners for either the pleasure of there slip rental patrons are for there resort guest. Something about that just does not seem right. I confine most of my dock fishing to the corners. It is really tricky in back of docks. There are so many cables back there I just do not want to deal with them. I had thoughts at times about buying a 12 ft stiff cane pole and hanging a length of 20 lb test line on the end if it so that i could jerk the fish around and out of the cables. But I would not enjoy that. I do alright my way and enjoy it.

They are not suppose to repaur seawalls anymore wrench i was told. That the reason for all the rip rap going on. A neighbor got rip rap last year abd allready has lost a good bit to wash out. Had he poured dyt concrete inbetween thise rocks tgat would have prevented it. He saud your not suppose to do that. I have put dry bsgs of concrete alone the botton of my sea wall in the past with bent rebar sticking out if them then the next year i would add another row of concrete bag connected to the older ones by rebar. I got sections of sea wall the reenforcemant mudt weigh well over a ton.

Acorrding to the paper the annual draw down starts real soon. Nobody likes it but they do it. The paper also said the temperate at the darn ( thats at 6 ft) was 51 degrees. Not bad for this time of year. Maybe we can avoid some ice with a little luck. I sort of feel like we are going to get started on the boulders and chunk bank a little earlier.

O. A. F. Winter Lake Taneycomo Weekend 2014
Old plug replied to Phil Lilley's topic in General Angling Discussion
Terierman---- You have my sympathy. Ive had that plus two knee replacements. Going Jan 8 to see about the other shoulder. It had several minor tears and I pushed thru them to fish. Now its really messed up. -
Mitch------ My son tells me there has been a rash thieving in the Saddle Brook subdivision in your area I believe.

They rarely steel off a dock in daylight hours. Some people are inviting it by leaving rods and everything laying around. I think some of it is picking up something on the side while steeling gas. They have has stealing down to a real art around her. I have neighbor just filled a 75 gal tank in think it was and they drained it dry. To do that you gat to have a pretty good electric pump.

Wrench ------- you repairing inboards ????? I never seen one up there. Got a lady next door with a small cruiser that she mentioned awhile back. Wanting to have it checked out. Warn you now i bet there is a lot engine damage. Her brother in law stared it up about 3 yrs ago ran it awhilek then brought it back and its been setting on the lift ever since.

Stock ranches in the water shed might have something to do with that

There must be some justification because everything is open to fish around here. Being a dock owner and having been stolen from I know where it comes from. My dock and a few around it have a reputaion for crappie. There is someone trying to catch crappie nearly every day even in some awful weather. I neve bothered anyone myself. We had a guy here for awhile had powerful sprinkler on the roof of his dock that he would turn on when you came near. conservation agents paid him a visit and he stopped it. I imagine there is some differance between Mo and Ark about this. The corp also. LOZ is privately owend.

I have seen post on here where people say you cannot fish docks on table rock. what is that all about. Up here you csn catch some awful large bass with a unweighted plastic worm around docks. Is it some kind of law.

12-19-13 James River Arm Table Rock Lake Report
Old plug replied to Bill Babler's topic in Table Rock Lake
Yeah were boys. You caught us. Old boys. There is a good possibility I was fishing before your daddy was born. I fish about 250 days a year or more and have done it here on LOZ for the last 25 yrs. No way he was trying to put down Bill. -
Turn the rod upside own and push the tip against the floor at a45 degree angle You can see the bend in the rod a fast tip will bed mostly from the tip and medium action will bend pretty far down the rod. The power you can judge at that time by the amount of force you need to apply to get the bend. You might want to try this on several rods in the rack. I will help you understand.

I use about anything in the natural vein. Net Bait is a little more sturdy has some scent as well. All of mine are between 11 and 12 inches. Also a bit heavier.

You should pay attention to what he was saying thumbs. Because he knows what he is talking about. -
champ again you boys do not impress me. There is more variables than I am sure your level of experience not lets you understand. So there is no sense discussing it with you.

12-19-13 James River Arm Table Rock Lake Report
Old plug replied to Bill Babler's topic in Table Rock Lake
I can relate a story here that points out just how little the color means in some cases like BO is describing . Many years ago I was fishing on eagle lake ontario with a indian guide. We were fishing for walleye. This guide had a 3/4 ball headed unpainted lead jig on a outfit not much larger than a crappie outfit with about 8 lb test line. This jig had nothing on it it was just a bare hook. He proceeded to boat a lot of walleye just raising that jig off the bottom about 6 inches and banging it back down. I have never forgotten that. And to this day I have times when I fish ledges and such I will bang that a jig( dressed not plain) from one ledge to the next. With a spoon it is stiil drawing fish by sound but the sink rate and flutter play a large role in the attractiveness as well. -
I am either not here to argue either. I know what i can do and not do. I did not say I have not used or owned one. My first casting rod was 5 ft long and made of pure steel. There is a lot more to it than feeling the tick or bump. The thing I was trying to put across is you do not need a rod for each and every type lure you use or application. champ......... I do not have a casting outfit with 15 lb test on it. I do not need anything that heavy on LOZ. I do have one small 5 1/2 ft casting rod though with 10 lb test on that I fish for large fish with.

greasy B--------- Do not make one make 3 or 4 because they do not last very long. What you seen was almost certainly lone nose gar. They have 4 rows of teeth in those bills two rows straight up and down and two rows on the outside pointing at a angle. That nylon rope will get so tangled up in there you will loose a good position of it trying to get it back. Also get your self a glove. It should be heavier than a convention garden glove because the angle teeth will come right through most gloves. Use a short steel leader as well. Try it on light tackle. I call it a poor mans salt water fishing. I started doing it last August. Wonderful way to beat the dog days.

Your welcome to disagree with me. But you will never convince me.

I make no distinction between what is winding, dragging, cranking or a dozen or so other applications they claim (for sales purposes) you need. Heavy or light application and how well its constructed is all. I want is it to feel comfortable in my hands. I will throw whatever I want on the rod. Feel is a developed skill for the most part. If it was not you could not tell the difference between bumping a rock and a hit.

Vicious Pigs On The Loose In Bella Vista!
Old plug replied to Quillback's topic in General Angling Discussion
My next door neighbor has a house in Bella Vista and lief just a short while ago for there. Wild hog problem covers a lot of the country. I think they are about as dangerous as anything out there. -
Stressful isn't it . My wife does not fish, does not eat fish and cant stand the smell of them.

I do not know if i should call it goals. I do like to catch large catfish on spoons and light bait casting tackle with 10 lb test line I only boated one about 15 lbs this year doing this. I have caught then to 48. I would like to get more this year. I would like to catch more bass over 5lbs (21) inches. I usually can muster between 8-10. This past year I only got 6. In the dog days I like to catch Gar.on hot evenings. I catch a lot if them 4 ft and longer. I have seen a few were a lot lot bigger. I would bet there is a state record here. I would like to catch it. And last but by no means least I have a real goal to remember to carry my IPad with me when I go out. I went out last year and had one of my best outing of the year catching two bass measuring right at 22 inches in about 1/2 hour and Had nothing to photograph them with.
