  1. WOW smallmouth is bad enough I hope you guys do not try to figure out the results of breeding habits of Horney Crappie.
  2. Is it really all that important ?????? Go out and enjoy yourself and if you feel it is this or that you can just say that is what it looked like. But without some tested proof such as DNA you would never know for sure. I have grown Hosta plants for many years. I am not a Hosta collector with only around 100 species. I know though in the world of Hosta plants you can see two plants look the same and they are two different species. If i have something like that i am not going to worry about it I am just going to enjoy them. Same applies to the fish. ,
  3. I will ask her if she knows or heard of you. She had not lived there for several years she became a executive for a international food company and lived up in Minneapolis for several years. Her last name was Swingle.
  4. CHIEF------There are some. Send a note to MDC I bet they gat a DNA profile for everything in the state. Finding out would be an expensive proposition even for them. I do know that there are DNA profiles on just about everything including plants.
  5. Your all guessing and it does not matter. SUISALUKI with a masters in this stuff you should know their is no positive way to tell without a DNA.
  6. Welcome my next door neighbor is from Carthage. Her sister and bother in law still live there. Her first name is Tony-
  7. You will never sell me on a plug that cost s much as those things. I can do just as well with a Popper R.
  8. DNA is all that is all that is beyond reasonable doubt to me. I think that is why the biologist say that. That is the way it is with everything.
  9. I imagine on LOZ now you need to start looking deep ledges.
  10. Well i kind of like BO. But I have been fishing about 65 yrs and I will test it well and if I have questions or suggestions I will discuss them with him thru MSG system. I have never used one like this before.
  11. Wayne the way i ubnderstand it these coming through missouri are younger males that wonder sll over the place. They tagged or inserted a chip or something and a few months later he was located in michigans upper pennisula. There have wlso been reports of jaguar as far north as Arkansas boarder. I do not know if those have been confirmed. The cars do not really scqre me unless tgey start running down my road. Now we are having black bears as well. My neighbor has a house in Bella Vista and he has had trouble wuth them. the most dangerous snimal we have are the Hogs but there is none in my area.
  12. That is plain ridiculous. It looks like a popper R to me.
  13. I am going to be test Nutech jigs if I can get out sometime soon. They are unlike anything I amused to. I look forward to trying them. I have always had luck with jigs when I have a good balance between of the entire tackle setup from jig and trailer to rod its fished on. You can adjust some jigs by bending the weed guards various ways.
  14. I usually go broke on my to granddaughters for our christmas gift.
  15. 100 percent sure they will catch white bass. If they are around and biting.
  16. I did not spend long. One borderline keeper crappie and one small white bass. Wind is to cold for me and it looks like they dropped water bit. I will about bet i will not see them for while now.
  17. Well i am ging down there now LAKER. Its 2 pm you might have been a bit early
  18. I do not know about those crows they are on to something also. Most of nature us way ahead of us. These crappie though usually move down bank and hang around under my dock in late november and stay thru the first cold snap in december. Then you will see these big balls of fish suspended off the last dock in my cove out in 30 to 40 ft of water. I figured with the cold we have been having they may have done that already. That is why i was surprised. Now I got a notion they willbe gone by the end of this week warm weather or not. I am going to give it a try tomorrow. The point dock sets in real deep water and they can be found rising down there all winter at times. I have seen a guy here about one or two times snagging them. All I seen him get was a catfish. I had the down troller on a couple yrs back and tried to catch some trolling crappie stuff through that mess. They were so thick the ball and cable would bump off them. That is the reason maybe I did not catch anything. Its nit just crappie down there it is all kinds of fish.
  19. Winter storm electra is suppose to make your float even more fun.
  20. Hairis----- They are up there my son sees road kill all the time in far west st louis County. They can be hard to trap. I have shot about 10 in the last year. I use a 410 slug. But if your careful you can walk right up to them and whack them on the head with something. Don't handle them they are known to carry a lot of disease. As too cougars i have nev seen one but ey seem to have more reports along hwy 135 around here.
  21. Admit it Bill you just getting old. Sooooon you will be joining the club called old farts
  22. BO as soon as I get that jig i am going to put a paddle worm on it and 1st chance I get I will try to see what it does down on the deep ledges. Thats why I was comfortable with. 3/8. When it gets down there about 20 to 25 ft on my mono line and that plastic worm it has a gentle drop. But still holds contact.
  23. Fins ----- I never bother anyone on my dock getting a lure unhooked etc. But your rules do not apply to LOZ. This lake is privately owned.
  24. Well mitch if the health continues to slide you can buy this house
  25. You and the injun have convinced me Mitch. With all your talk and pictures. I. Am going to check around in St Louis and see what is what and maybe if your out there and you come upon a old guy who does not respond to any questions, who is fishing with tackle from yeaseryear. It might be me. Of course if you keep going on about the lower Meramec on this public forum it may be to full of boats to fish.
