  1. I am not a lawyer or even have any formal legal training. But boy for many years I was involved with the Lawyers. From VA , ARMY and. A few others. I certainly learned that little and interpretations of them can make a big differance in what the law says versus what it is interpreted to mean. I will not go into details but I know one instance where the word OF has been through the legal mill and even the Supreme Court on several occasions. This is why I do worry about that word taken. It seems very clear to me just exactly what the writers of the code intended. Truly it is about the only isonly choice to cancer all the bases. But this proscutor is perverting that meaning. found. He has his reason and I got to question them. i would like to see the words kill or harm worked into some place in the code. I have not seen anything in there. They need to make a clear determination and definition of that TAKEN as used in the code means to kill are harm and publish it in the code
  2. Hot Wally ----- your agent is correct and do is your prosecuting attorney. I believe the problem is with th law. The key word being TAKEN. Never did like the they use that word in the wildlife code in phases. I. Suppose it can be interpreted different ways. i believe though if the prosecutor wanted to he could go back and cite the intent of the law and that is to protect wildlife. That should make it simpler to prosecute. Maybe just has a lazy a---. Lots of them do.
  3. I fished a fly rod religiously for a few years on the Meramec river. I used you coil the the line on my fingers by wrapping the the. Line through the middle of my fingers in a figure 8. Then I would just put my thumb on the line turn my hand towards the next cast it as the line went out for. Next cast. Keep in mind there is a limit about how much you can store between your fingers. But it is as smooth as casting off a reel and no line all over in the boat.
  4. They would not do that with me. They been told already. It is. Just a matter of what.
  5. Thereyou go billethead---- kind of like me catching something the way your not suppose to. I get outside the box a lot. The thing I got in my mind now is using sinkos in February when the bass. Start on stuff like Rouges around here. They are suppose to be rising very slowly. Jigs also work then and they are on the bottom. a sinko can be bottom fished. I done it just a few weeks ago picking it up and letting it drop back. Sooooooo something to play with.
  6. a /16 oz hair jig is a hell of a crappie bait Mitch in the winter. Years ago I had a few I tied out of real polar bear fur. They would just about suspend. Took them a long time to fall. While they were doing that I would give them tiny slow lifts. Retrieve could litterly last 3-4 minutes on a fairly short cast.
  7. Geeeeeee is there really a dark side and a light side?. I'm in a fog most the time anymore.
  8. i use 10 lb braid to fish crappie Jigs, sinkos and several other smaller baits. Have never used a leader. I can cast, flip, pitch and shoot docks with vertlually no effort. Like the tiny diameter of the 10lb thread and do not think the fish care one way or the other. Only thing I do not like is I cannot feel any abrasion on the line as it wears. I think it would make fine leader material.
  9. I stopped using them because my bones do not let me cast and reel the heavy stuff anymore. I am still able to use the. Smaller plastic ones 6 to 7 inches long. I am sure they will work every bit as well as th larger ones. I just have not taken the time to find out the where ,when and how of it as it applies to my area. I have been a jig or worm fisherman most of my life. I doubt I will ever change at this late date. But swim baits can be fish busters by those who will take the time to really understand and use them that's for sure.
  10. I got stuff to do the whole rest of the week. But if I get home early enough to I am going to hit it tomorrow afternoon. Think I will run behind the docks and try a couple things with mostly Mitch' s sinkos and craw. Mostly channel banks on the north shore. I am 3 miles down from wrench wrench and it might be different down here. Big spinner baits would send me home with.a sore shoulder pretty fast. So I m kind of forced to fish out of the box and look for another way. Always have been kind of knot headed anyway about following good advice.
  11. Never met Richy611 but I can guarantee you he know swim baits backwards and forward just by his post. He specizes and that is 1000 times better that a box full of lures.
  12. Well wrench it often comes from California. Hmmmmm. Maybe someone maxed out your charge card on shoes and purses.
  13. iNlike tackle warehouse they got some things that I do not see otherwise like big bite baits. You keep sassing my favorite outlet wrench and I a going to turn that flock of Pelicans loose on you.
  14. I want to wish everyone a happy Thanksgiving. It's a good time to be with family. I Will be in Herman Mo at my daughters home on a hilltop overlooking Herman. We will be celebrating with our a family and my daughter in laws family. We have a closer relationship than most in laws.
  15. Been thinking about this baby coming. If you do not know the sex already we will pray for a boy. I know from experience you can justify a lot of what might be considered misbehavior in some circles with one of those.

Thanks, we found out it's a girl! We are happy! Now my whole house will be girls, including the dog?

  16. Hmmmmm time sort of dragging along huh Mark
  17. You know wrench I do wonder about that. There is darn sure something wrong in the Gravois. I kind of think it is wake related. The kind of wakes going on round here the last couple years can wash things out including spawning beds. I was down on the dock yeasterday morning and got hit by a darn cruiser wake. About knocked me down. There just does not seem to be a end to this season.
  18. Smalliebigs------- Answering the door with guns on them on these dark lonely roads out here is very much to be expected. I never actually seen the weapon but think there's one on his backside for sure. I thought I had a corner on that big drop shot down here. Nobody I knew used it and some people gave me funny looks when they seen me use it. After the article was published on here about Deon Hibdon using it on LOZ I gave up hiding it. I imagine he figured it out for himself but we have a mutual friend that I told about it. And I sort of wonder at times. Using it can be effective and it can be real frustrating when that line tangles around he fish in ways you would never believe. The experience with the guys must have had a positive effect on me. I bowled Monday afternoon and bowed a 575 series or 191 ave. Something I thought I was never hoping to see again. I still do not expect to see it with the regularity I did at one time, but it was nice anyway.
  19. They can live very deep. And they can tolerate extreme cold. But they do not do well in heat. You need to google them up and read about them we had them on LOZ and they were all over the place. Then. There was a massive die off. It happened during a very hot summer. I cannot prove it but I think the hot summer was part of the cause. When they died the many of them would turn upside down and floated up. Looked like punkin seed floating buy the dock.
  20. was a pleasure to meet all of you. Your thE good fellas Glen said you were. hOpe you catch some crappie on those crappie baits. I have found thEy do not spiral down as much as most other stuff like tubes do. i would wait until the end of spawn next year to try those drop shot. the summer has always been the best with them.

Harry I couldn't agree more!! It was awesome to meet you in person. We thoroughly enjoyed it. I've added those crappie baits to my box and will hopefully throw them quite a bit over Thanksgiving when I'll be back down. And the drop shot's will also get a workout next summer. Thank you again for going through all the trouble to find us the other night. I'm glad we were able to get to know each other a little bit.

      Take Care,
      Paul

  21. Was very happy to meet you. Your one of the good guys. I took the sinko down to the dock to observe it. It looks fine t me. I like its strength as well. If I get a little break in the weather this week I am going to try everything out. I expect it might b a bit late right now for th sinko and fluke but it is neve to late . For anything like the craw.

  23. WOW billithead nice to see squirrels in the trees instead of chewing on deck railings, steps, house overhangs and actually eating through the walls of a house.
  24. I agree with that as far as mountain loins go. But then there are squirrels and a few others.
  25. I was going to mention that about the code. Lo of people do not understand that the code tells you what you can do and if it does not day you can do you cannot do it.
