Why do you need to catch 3 fish at a time??????
-
I know nearly nothing about Trout fishing. And it certainly is not my cup of tea. But yeasterday I was down on Lake taneycomo with my family to take My grandkids to Silver Dollar City. Because my son picked up food poisons and that very expensive place he was sick part of our intended fishing day so we stayed on the bank at the house we rented. I used a spinning outfit with 8lb test line. I tied a 1/2 oz bell sinker on a dropper 6" below the line. Then put the hook or fly about 2 ft in back of that. I cast this out and let it bounce over the bottom. I found out by mistake that when it caught momentarly caught on a rock if I let it set there in the current for while a trout would get it. I used a black fly that resembled a helgranote part of the time and also pink trout worms the other part of the time. Both caught fish on the 8lb line. we caught mostly small fish but two were between 13 and14 inches. It really surprised me. Remeinded me of catfish fishing in a river. I guess we caught about 7 or 8 fish.

I am not going to vote for any of those constitional amendments. They has some dozies in there.

I can fly radio control but it has been many ters since I did so. I. would have many questions about this camera thing. I seen something somewhere where they have to each be approved for and licences by FAA. I do not know if that is true or not. I wondef about the range I have seen people loose RC planes that got out of range. Other thing that bothers me is what if you shoot something that is a invasion of privacy.

What water patrol?????? I have only seen one since the Ellison thing.

FLYSMALLIE-------Thank you for the suggestion. But i have sort of decided on the name BS. Sort of seems appropiate for my new dynamic lure.

I made something for a test of The ned type bait. I put a a cunk of Z-man on a 1/4 oz jig head like they use with the Ned Rig. It is a good bit larger than the Ned Rig and I tried it out. Maybe different head weight ( I was thinking 1/8 might help it out) etc might make a differance but over all it did not keep up with my 5/16 oz hair jig with brush hog trailer. I caught two shorts on it and 5 on the hair jig. I credit that to the flutter of the brush hog and the sink rate of the hair jig. Of course you understand it is not a Ned Rig it is something NEW.

Looking for Lake Home - Good Area Suggestions

If you do not find one in a year or so. This one of mine might be on the market if my health continues to fo down. 3 br 2 baths great room and a fully framed and inclosed florida type room. Two car garage W/ attched room gentle lot. Blacktop all the way. Lot has an award winning garden covering a lot of it. The house itself is only about 1600 sq ft. A ideal retirement home. But it will not be cheap. I would guess somewhere over $250k at the least. It is located in Mill Creek on the Gravois Arm. Just off Cedar Point. Easy to see from water. There is a white Lighthouse in the yard. -
Well thanks I will more than likely be be using bass type baits. of various colors. How much I fish depends on what chasing around with my 5 and 3 yr old gand daughters take out of me. They will start on mimi and Papa even before their parents are out of bed.

How muddy might that be for the next few days that is what I want to know. I am not a trout fisherman and will be going at it pretty much with my moving water bass tactics.

I never condemned you. Not going to argue with you either.

Very nice catfish Connor. I have not fished or even been over in North Buck creek for several years. I used to fish there a lot. It is a real good Bass cove. White bass and everything used to run up in there. Just got to old I guess. That trolling with a wiggle wart or other crank bait is something they do here on the Gravois all summer long with a lot of success. You would think I would do it because I have two down rigger I can attach to the boat. Only thing I have done though is use them drifting with bait. That kind of bores me so I stopped.

Deep hooking can happen. I had a problem with it a day or so ago using flukes and wacky worms. The thing that was causing it was I was dead sticking with 10 lb test braid that is very tiny and I could not see the line. The fault was mine. Most deep hooking can be layed at the feet of the angler. WALTCRABASS----- Your problem sounds like lack of positive connection between you and your bait. Again that is your fault not the baits fault.

West Side is more small town flavor. People are better. Iut of the Laurie area is nice. What do they want to pay???? -
I love that wart hog. It is one fine attact aircraft. they buzz around here all the time get very low over the lake. I have had them come sight in on a pontoon during the week. They are solow I can spell the burnt JP fuel. Great for nostagia from my Carrier days.

I do not go anywhere. I am satisfied to stay right in the gravois 24 - 7 except for next week when I GOT to go to Taneycomo with the kids and grandkids. I will not be doing much fishing. What little I will do is vumping some small rabbit strip jigs I made over the bottom. bumping some small rabbit fur jigs over the bottom. But I hope to get in some more bass fishing around here before then. We rented a house for us up at falls creek. Cost $750 for those 4 days.

Wrench------- There you go. A chance to make you second million bucks.

I am not complaining. Just stating a fact. I also sid dave did a great job promoting it. And he did for sure. It is just after 70 years fishing I just do not buy it.
-
Remember to be sure and get it properly set up. It absolutly necessary to have the right jig head( they say) and the right brand of stretch worm to cut off so on and so forth.

I think the new thing about the Ned Rig is the marketing approach. Dave did awhale of a job. A lot of frustration and hard work I bet Dave. But it is nothing new and the whole thing is like the rage over the Big O many years ago. The whole thing is catching fisherman. Like most everything else on the market now days.

I went back out after the storm came through and caught 2 more keepers and wome small ones caught the last 2 keepers on a hair jig with a brush hog trailer moving it down channel banks and other rather steep banks. I think ledges are the key for the jig. I think part of the bass have spawn and there are more doing it now in other places other than the truditional places people tend to think of as spawning grounds.

96 Champ---- missedthat day. I was up in Jeff city having some heart test done. Took beter part of the day. After reading your post I went out about 3 pm with a Sara spook puppie. I caught several fish but only twp keepers before I got scared off the water about 4:30. It was not much fun down here today. About every other cast the spook would pick up some slop off the trees. I did not get one fish off a fravel flat they were all in back of docks on medium dropping banks. I got some spawning activity trying to get started in back of my dock. That fish is clearing a spot between flat rocks that has a bit of gravel in it. the bed must be down there 5 ft at least. I usually have one liek the every year.

I do not know kuch about up at Gravois Mills but other than that most of the gravois is crystal clearcto about 6 ft.

X 2 Yeah iseen that at our Walky World here and bought three. Those are real god topwaters. A few years. ago I started turning my own cedar top waters out on and used the same basic I remebered from the crazy shad such as balance and single hook. They are round shape but still walk and sputter. i think they would be evn better for walkinhg if changed the 1 1/4 inch props to something smaller. I do hot worry a whole lot agout color. Mine are all whateve color the cedar was I made them from with a few coats of some type clear sealer.

Ned and other finesse baits causing deep hooking?
Old plug replied to Jim Elam's topic in Table Rock Lake
I must confess this moring and again this afternoon I was using a outfit that transmitted the maxium touch to me. I was using a 7 ft Cherrywood HD spinning rod with 10lb test braid on it. It was equal to 2 lbs test Dia. That was so senitive I could feel the jig drag on rock as it dropped from ledge to ledge sometimes 25 ft or better away. The main reason that tiny dia keeps you in contact with your line. I do not use braid much. But I do like it on this outfit. I can go bass fishing then turn around and put a small crappie jig on there and fish that real easy. And I may just do that after we get back from Wally World.
