  1. Really? a special rod for a wiggle wart.
  2. well in the case Of the Busch area the strict limits are because there are so 'any fisherman. and the boat deal you rent the boat but you can put a electric trolling motor on it. That is all you ned to properly fish those lakes in Busch.
  3. well at my age a loose stitch might be plenty check I my buy it.
  4. Does it have a hole in it
  5. I had high hopes of the dillos getting cut down too. After all they are not suppose to be able to adapt to the cold. but I was up at my Daughters this weekend in Hermann Mo this past weekend. She tells me her neighbor killed one in her Yard about a week and a half ago.
  6. while it is true bass will eat any fish they have a very big preferance for Shad. As the populations of shad demish on the lakes other type come become more popular. A heavy population of shad can affect fishing at. times. In spite of what some people think you are never really fooling a fish that some lure is a shad. The smell and everything else about them makes them unique. At times I will use small fresh caught shad a couple inches long in conjunction with spoons. That is just about as sure a thing for catching anything down there as you can get. Then again if you have a high concentration of shad as we have had last year the bass fishing with a artificial lure is effected.
  7. how far back from the lake are those golf courses. i am no big supporter of PBS bussiness practices. They tend to make the people of Missouri pay for there expansion then charge them to use the thing like the national museum in PBS in Springfield.
  8. I do not know if its planet warming or what. i think thought that over the last few uears there has been some fundamental weather pattern change sneaking up on is. I have noticed things like where the wind is has been coming from during the seasonal changes for one thing. It also seems to me that tornado alle is making a shift to the east. There seems to be more extremes and partly because of my age and a sun stroke in The Suez Canal the sun is more of something to be careful of. Then there are the Armadillos now all the way past st Louis.
  9. tuat is for sure. But after at least 65 year fishing. I do not take all the recommendation to heart and run out and buy something I think its the in thing ot do.
  10. I have seen braid lines fray and the same is true fireline. I prefer to be able to check my line to see if it has frayed. this is done by running myfinger down the last 5 or 6 ft. somebody on here was saying he had was using 65 lb test braid with a 15 lb test leader and he had to cut the line because it was hung up and he could not get it loose and was afraid of breaking his rod. Well what do you expect. expect. Why do you have to use 65 lb test anyway. Ham mentioned he uses a leader because it is cheaper to to replace lures than a lot of line. Well when I see people on here paying lures that cost $ 15 bucks and up it does not look cheap to me to loose those things. I am in the same boat with blasabee and champ. I buy the Pro bass shop mono they do and I fish about 250+ days a year and it works fine. It might not be cool but it works very well. I have caught fish to 49 lbs on 10 or 12 lb test. Iforget what it was.
  11. Well thanks Jerry. IT was right side up when i seen it in the photo library
  12. Im with you Champ.
  13. How did my photo get on your posting Jerry.
  14. Jerry it should have turned already. But that sure looks what its like
  15. If your real smart stay off the reservoirs. LOZ was froze solid yeasterday and my area had been frozen solid for 2 days. it was nearly zero here last night and it has not gotten out of the teens here yet today. In the picture you will see a number of open. Spots that appeared last night and today. I was talking to wrench and he thinks there is a current or something forcing the warm water up from the bottom of the lake in places. Can you imagine being way out there and one of these things develope right under your feet. You could go through the ice and never realize it was weakening. my safety advice is stay off the reserviors.
  16. Wacky worms are not a new concept. People started doing that about the time creme came out.with the red rubber ones. Anything will work in the hands of somebody who understands it and is using it at the right time and right place. Thats the secret of sccess . Not what it looks like. It could be a perfect plug and if you can not use it when where your suppose to its not going to be any good.
  17. forget the last post I misinterpreted the picture. I still do not think it will be a good hooker with only one hook in the center. go try it but if they want 15 bucks for it they are not going to hook me. There is just to many things that will work as well.
  18. Spinners on both ends and the hook in the middle. HAM I would not be surprised if it spun when you tried that.
  19. bet that plow had chains. there is little you can do with ice. If he was spreading salt that will not work either under 18 degrees I think.
  20. Its a vertical fished lure. thats its type. I doubt it will catch anymore fish than a any other lure of that type. with the set up on the hook it looks to me like you might miss a lot of them.
  21. a couple uears ago 14 and 15 iinch crappie were pretty common up here at LOZ. I remember the hay days of Kentucky Lake. there was a lot of monsters in there. Its been years since I fished the Mississippi. It ised to have a lot of big crappie below clarksville and winfield dams. It was the best crappie fishing in Mo may still be for all I know.
  22. big crappie are a sucker for a rogue
  23. For any of you guys down there who have not really experienced a St Louis ice storm( looks like that is whats about to happen there. Let me tell you your in for it. the rain will sink into the tops of the plowed snow piles. If you hit one of them it is like hitting a wall. Far worse than snow cover
  24. Well I can guarantee you it will catch fish. Like I was told when I was young "In the right hands a fisherman can catch fish on his false teeth" matter of fact I have caught a few Bass that took nothing more than a gold crappie hook rigged behind a weight Carolina rig fashion while searching for brush piles. This was in the days before electronics. Like I said in a recent post I fished with a Indian guide in Canada and watched him catch several Walleye on nothing more than a naked Jig head with nothing on it. Every now and then something revolutionary comes along. But generally speaking it is a long time between now and then. I will use what I know works. I bet this thing will price out at about $15 bucks.
  25. Wonderful commercial.
