  1. We have been catching a few smallmouth in Beaver. Mostly swimbait drug slow across rocks in 10-20 foot of water I have tomorrow off work and wondering if Table Rock was messed up with the water dump from Beaver? Any advice is welcome
  2. Would like to get out Saturday morning if the water isn't too trashed up or a very muddy? Any thoughts are welcome.
  3. From a podcast I listened too... they have to continue the Cup events because of sponsorship deals....I am sure there are other reasons... for continuing the cup events while introducing the BPT tour events. It will make more sense as time goes on... I love the format... I would personally rather catch 50 under two pounds as to catch 5 five big ones in one day. I feel I might learn something more from this format... but to each his own.
  4. I wonder if it was Dave Lefebre that was talking to Bill and his clients.... he has a lime green boat... and from what I have watched.. sounds like something he might do...
  5. Templefork makes some great rods for 100$ I also like Falcon.. they have been great to stand behind the rods. I love my Tatula... but also like my lews reels as well. Some of the bass pro reels are good.. the white ones /carbonlite are not as good as the cheaper... pro qualifer.. I got some of those for about 70$ and they work very good.
  6. I have the regular Panoptix and like it. Learning curve is still going on. But the ability to see brush piles and schools of fish is helpful. I wish I had the livescope.
  7. Nice job..
  8. I fished two Bass opens as a co angler. Really enjoyed the experience overall. Learned from all 4 boaters. Two of them knew quite a bit more, one had been on the elite series before an illness. They were all great to spend the day with, and truly enjoyed it when I caught fish. Cost was about 450$ per tournament plus they encourage helping with fuel, about 40$ per day. I agree with Bill, that many are everyday guys, that have had some success somewhere, but are not not necessarily way better than many locals. But this event also had some truly top notch talent, Elam, McClelland, Clouse, Even the elite guy at the end of the day asked me if I had a spot and we went and each caught a keeper. It was great fun, and did offer the possibility of winning some money, although that was not my motivation to enter the event. I hope to do it again, it make me realize how hard the pros and guides work to fish everyday. The days are very long.
  9. Fished Eagle rock to point 23 Friday... caught more fish at Eagle Rock than we did down lake.... could have been the time of day... was at Eagle Rock at dusk to after dark. Caught some on drop shot, and spro rock crawler... and a spook...nothing of any real size .. one was 16 inches... I don't think it ruined the fishing there.
  10. Rick Brouwer in Rogers does a great job. Charges 10$.
  11. temple fork rods... can buy off amazon for 100$ delivered... For the money I think they are great.
  12. Got to go with my oldest son and future son in law. Top water off main lake points was on. Had a great time. Finished with 24 for the day. Bomber wake bait in bone color worked best. Plopper caught some as well. Later caught some on swim bait and under spin. And a couple on the Ned. Had lower unit issues but fortunately on the way back . It seemed to kick out of gear while running down the lake was able to idle back the last mile or so. When trying to get n plane it would go fo a bit then kick out of gear. Still had a great day. I am very blessed Boat is in the shop and I will probably only miss one morning of fishing time. Because of wedding and other commitments. . Wacky worm pic is from previous trip with future son in law. have a great weekend.

  14. Bill thanks for the report. I still laugh from your post when you offered to be blindfolded and have Alex take you to his honey hole. Enjoy reading and learning from you.
  15. sold... sorry to be so slow responding
  16. Look at Templefork rods.. love mine... have them on Amazon as well
  17. Thanks for the feedback... I also need to get a NU-Tech... I like the jigs..so the blade bait might be good as well.
  18. I have Falcon, G loomis, Lews... and Templefork. Have liked all of them. The falcons are lowriders and have worked great. The customer support has been excellent. Lews has also been great support. Take a look at Templefork...love the rods... but don't know about support.. I got a couple for 99 each online including shipping. Gary Loomis is involved with this company. May try the Jason Christie, rod.. like the American made, and I like to support Falcon.
  19. I am a sucker and know I have addiction issues with buying fishing lure etc. I see the reviews for the Jackhammer chatterbait... and wonder if anyone here likes them over other blade baits
  20. Caught 10 in two hours and 20 minutes. One barely 15, the rest 14 or so. All on Spro rock crawler... in two spots. Got 4 in 6 casts. Casting up shallow and bouncing off brush etc. I have seldom stayed with any crank bait longer than 10 minutes. Trying to expand my comfort zone. Looking forward to visiting Saturday. and having an excuse to fish all day.
  21. I plan on being there... I will bring friendship bread, bbq pork and chips.
  22. Got hold of the Garmin rep. Think have the issues figured out. They are sending new parts
  23. Big m was open
  24. Went to Big M this morning. Didn't get a bite. Jerk bait ,jig, drop shot,Ned and spoon. Just bought 4 Garmin graphs and Panoptix. Bought and had installed in the Branson area. And can't get sonar to work at console. Or Panoptix to work Had issues with the install. They broke the hinges on the battery compartment, acknowledged they saw it and sent it back to me broken. I guess hoping i wouldn't notice. Upon returning they did not fix correctly, and damaged the boat further. and didn't address the issue i had with the graphs not working. By not working it includes software updates not done. Shorts in the wiring. So it goes off and on. Randomly. Even then the sonar does not read. On plane don't get depth readings. i need suggestions for a shop you would trust and may have experience with a Garmin Thanks for any help
  25. Count me in as well, will put it on the calendar.
