  1. Pretty fish and a good report.
  2. I know the megaworm is not for everybody. But I also know that it catches some big fish each year. I tied some up in white, cream and pink to try in a couple of weeks. For those that do fish it, how do you fish it? Also anyone tried it for anything other than trout? thanks in advance, travis
  3. look at the belly on that bad boy.....that's where all the little trout down river are going Andy
  4. Couple pictures from the last couple days off Facebook. Credit lilleys page and Eric prey. Pretty easy to see the hot spot. Crazy how these 2 pictures are lined up almost perfectly in the same spot. They both have stubby noses but they sure aren't the same fish. Trout Hollow had a nice rainbow on their page this morning as well. The lake is exploding with quality fish this week no doubt.
  5. That is pretty freaking awesome and darned exciting. Goodness your Facebook the last 2 days have had some amazing rainbows this week!
  6. Are some of those fish brood stock released down by the MDC ramp below the landing? I know they do that at certain times.
  7. I just saw this on your Facebook page. Goodness gracious a bunch of really really nice ones and several big jumbos! Looks like they whacked some big ones in practice Friday as well. I can't wait to get down in a couple weeks!
  8. Marty thank you for taking us along on this adventure. Great writing, wonderful photography and it really made us feel like we were there and part of you and Pat's adventure! You are awesome my friend!
  9. I will sure do that phil. what brand are they? i will be done in a couple weeks actually
  10. looking for a couple of used 5wt fly reels. Nothing really fancy or expensive, preference would be Redington Crosswaters or something of that sort of quality. If it has line on it already all the better.
  11. Posted in the for sale forum but though I would ask here as well. Looking for a couple of used 5wt fly reels. Nothing really fancy or expensive, preference would be Redington Crosswaters or something of that sort of quality. If it has line on it already all the better. Got a deal on a couple of 5wt rods so I'm just looking for a couple more reels to put on them. Thank you for looking, I appreciate it.
  12. have you asked on Tackle Underground by chance? it's a lure building forum page and they are a TON of help. there are some big time bait builders on there that may very well be able to help you out. I use the "wire baits" forum for jig questions. if you haven't then give them a shot and see if that can be of any help to you.
  13. Well I'll be fishing from a boat 100% of the time. I should of prefaced my questions that way. I'll make sure to bring plenty of minnows and worms then.
  14. so what would a guy throw on a fly rod in a boat with say 2 or 3 units running? I see guides and people doing that in the trophy area around ramp using fly rods as they drift along. a lot of times it seems with an indicator. What is good in that scenario for a fly rod?
  15. thanks for the info!
  16. i got the spinning rod goodies but trying to get some fly goodies ready for next month. sounds like i need to look at hackles huh?
  17. I posted this on the Taney section but I also wanted to ask here as well since people don't visit both places all the time. any answers are appreciated. When midge fishing, are these always fished as a dropper off a jig? Or you guys fish a double midge pattern or even just a single midge pattern? When scud fishing, do you fish the scud on the bottom or really close to the bottom? Is this fished solo or do you double it up with another scud or midge or something of the sort up above it? Besides a scud and a midge what are other flies that are good for fishing with an indictor or used as a jig dropper? Trying to get a Trout fly fishing kit put together. How and when do you fish egg flies, san juan worms and mega worms? I'm assuming water flowing and with weight added, maybe even a drift rig of sorts for the egg flies?

  19. The whole thing is bothering me badly. The fact that there are 2 operators on the boat with cell phones, there is communication with the home base. They were on top of a giant mountain that you can see for miles and miles not 10 minutes before they got in the water. Last but not least the cell phone video from inside the duck that made it to shore showed them by the Belle and it shows 4 people in the video and none with life jackets on. I'm just broken hearted today.
  20. my new 8wt rod should be delivered today so there will be some poppers being thrown this weekend for sure!
  21. a friend on here shared some of his poppers with me and I'm blown away with them and can't wait to try them out. I am one however that also likes to build and fish my own stuff if I can. I make almost all my own regular bass gear and trout jigs and fish the stuff I make about 80% of the time I'm guessing. Just a lot of satisfaction in doing that as I'm sure you are all aware also. I have ventured into trying to make my own poppers as well now, I got some of the surface seducer double barrel heads in the mail last night and started making a few. Not near as good as what you guys make on here but I'm pretty sure they will catch fish and I can't wait to find out.
  22. thanks so much, I appreciate it.
  23. do you have a guide on here for how you tie them/create them by chance?
