  2. has anyone tried UV mediums? <---- that spook has UV. idk if it catches more of bigger fish but it works. I have a lot of confidence in UV baits when walleye fishing. did a clunn sticker with UV but haven't fished it yet
  3. my 2 cents on A rigs buy titanium , no more broken arms ever i agree casting can be tricky ,try mono or fluorocarbon because if we don't cast properly with heavy braid sometimes it's good bye A rig hello birds nest
  4. punchin', pitching, flipping, my absolute favorite ways to fish for bass is in heavy cover on a short string, the best part is when you pull off all that salad and SURPRISE there's a 16lb bass on your hook ! Those big bass live in the hardest stuff to fish. If your're not in their house the chances of getting bit by one are slim imo. Grigsby is a clown for sure. We know professional tv fisherman, and other pro athletes are required by their contracts with their sponsors to be very friendly, talk to you in seminars and on the water, after the game or wherever. So naturally our first impression when we meet them is "wow he's a really cool dude". Now that he's done his job and we like him we're more willing to buy their sponsored products now. Sure a lot of those guys are really cool , a lot of "pros" are really not as cool as we may think. Jmo I work in recreation and tourism. I have to be polite, friendly, courteous no matter. When you first meet me at work I seem like a really nice guy too. After I clock out well.... I'm not so nice, lol.
  5. I can't stand tweekers think the best way to watch that show is with the mute button on
  6. to me it really seems they thrive in the coldest, clearest water of BS.The upper lake below Powersite , K dock,Beaver creek area, and some places within the Bull Shoals dam area are where I've seen the most. I have yet to see any zebra mussels survive a whole year in the Theodosia arm,Big creek, or Spring creek area. It's like they got a start, and then they disappeared. Some places in the Theodosia arm they were carpeting the bottom in January of 2015 and the lake level was around 655. Come November when the lake was back down to 657. Not even a trace of a zebra mussel. Like they were never even there. If I remember correctly about Feb./March there was a mega algae bloom in these same places in the Theo and Spring creek arms that looked kinda brown, mossy like , really thick and completely covered the bottom and every rock and mussel from the bank out to like 15' where these zebras were trying to establish themselves. The algae didn't last long , just a few weeks then the lake flooded.I wonder if the thick blanket of moss/algae smothered them or killed them some other way ? In some of those other places I mentioned where the numbers are massive when the lake went down there we saw huge numbers of dead mussels.
  7. yep. Norfork for numbers, Bull for size the upper BS lake is where I would start, powersite dam area and down from there I cant recommend a specific time but I think they live up around there so anytime you can go ,,go use big baits, live or artificial, stout gear, and don't expect many bites, but when you get hooked up there it's usually a big one. Some of the stocked stripers are now around 4-5 pounds from what I saw last year. There were some of these little stripers running up the creeks and rivers with the whites when they spawned last spring but not very many
  8. i just couldn't help myself after watching it snow for 30 minutes yesterday, what a disappointment
  9. I'm anxious, winter is just getting started, better keep your fingers crossed for the next 6-8 weeks so things happen they way you want them to. I would like to see a nice snowfall before springtime.
  10. i'm right there with ya Ham, there's some tournaments coming up really soon, should be interesting to see how they do in these conditions. I hope the water stays high for a long long time. Last year largemouth bass fishing was amazing w/ numbers and quality. I'm ready to do it again!
  11. i'll ask around.
  12. honestly idk with the flood and all, but I'll ask around
  13. if only more people stopped to think like Sam did. A lot of people fishing have never heard of zebra mussels yet. They need to be educated by anglers like Sam and the rest of us to get the word out.
  14. my skinny friends really do like the UA though. My current version of under armour is a tshirt that I wore back in 8th grade that's super skin tight and 3" too short now.
  15. probably a member of OAF, jk
  16. that's not so bad I guess, On a guide trip I had a client spill an entire bottle of blue dip -n -glo dye . His efforts to resolve the problem by wiping it up with my gore tex rain jacket made it even worse. The same guy the following year broke my passenger side windshield by using it for leverage to stand up .
  17. stupid people do stupid things like dressing head to toe in lethal weapons and using them to kill carp while skiing/boarding spiked body armor, spiked ball bats, machetes, swords, Freddy Krueger fingers, boomerangs and the list goes on js what if.. I can already see the headlines.. "Man impales himself with katana sword while skarping" "In a desperate attempt to kill every silver carp in the river a local man has been fatally injured. Police say he was unable to be rescued from the water in time for proper medical attention because he was wearing homemade, heavily spiked body armor which hampered the recovery efforts by rescuers." "He was pronounced dead at the scene."

  19. wow, has this ever happened to you....? I've broken a couple bills casting too close to the rocks but,
  20. Haven't heard or seen a boat out in days.... launch ramps being underwater probably has something to do with this
  21. Abu garcia stx round. I've got one for sale here in the buy sell trade section
  22. hmmm..How good are your eyes Champ? when viewed from a distance the middle finger might look like a thumb's up , jk
  23. " profanity on broadcast TV increases 69 percent in five years" - EW 2005 I'm not an Ike fan...jmo but Ike is probably one of the worst anglers on the trail when it comes to dealing with highs and lows of professional bass.
