  1. thank you for the compliments, she really thumped it as it was sinking.I really like the way the blade helicopters on the fall. I have some with willow leaf blades and a few other colors also.
  2. Revo S 30 has the best drag i have seen in that class spinning reel, lightweight, holds more than enough line ,30 size gear ratio is just what I needed or Lew's tournament speed spin would be a close second less expensive option
  3. wt 39-40 654.2 overcast, calm, light rain 4-6pm deep docks adjacent to shallower spawning areas 3/8 oz. homemade underspinners for sale here's the biggest one, 4-11
  4. I use a mh spinning rod for trds...and fish them on a tighter string to feel the take , the split second. when you have zero slack in your line and a fish picks up a dead sticked trd , that split second
  5. yes, and have your gray line set high to follow the ritual routes of a bass
  6. have had too many micro guides fall off, slip out, pull out, break off, ect on baitcasting rods, whether it was a $100 or $400 rod it was the micro guides would have issues during casting or hook setting no issues with micro guides on spinning gear to report
  7. bluff, if you want to do a "striclty ned" trip or something hit me up when you go!
  8. thanks for the report, and good luck in the near future
  9. the bass will do their "spring ritual" regardless of Wt. Best be looking at staging areas adjacent to spawning banks right now.
  10. micro guides work great for micro lines, 3,4,5 lb braids on longer m/ml spinning rods w/o leaders on small 10-20 sized reels. not a fan of anything micro on baitcasting rods really
  11. Empire park is very clean w/ clean toilets, flat parking lot w/ a short ramp and courtesy dock. Last time i was there was a couple years ago. All that stuff helps make my trip much easier by myself. ..about rockaway , don't think I've ever launched/been there.
  12. that's a good jig, nothing like catching a fish on a lure "you" made!
  13. doubtful, that white crud is still falling
  14. feathered trebles are your friends, they add to the realistic look and it helps hide the hooks some I plan on swapping out for a red feathered treble in the front and dye the rear one chartreuse try a small feather treble on the back of a susp. shad colored wart sometime
  15. don't kiss that bait if you catch a big fish on it, you could get lead poisoning it looks like a real fish catcher, I have to try it glad we have video demos now so we can actually see a bait in action before we buy or not
  16. fished Wed. from 12:30-3:30 in Big Creek, caught 6 bass , 4 were keeper largemouth in the 3lb class. All released. Weather conditions were perfect imo. Could sit perfectly still and deadstick. Fished a perfect ten rogue on gravel transition banks in the coves in 15-20fow. Boat sitting in 30ish.. Bite was super slow, 20-25 second pauses between twitches. Heard several boats running around but never saw any. Wt 41-43 ,653.04
  17. scale them first, leave the skin on try marinating the whites overnight in italian dressing ,and dipped in melted lemon/pepper butter when finished smoking or a few hours bath in a little bourbon ,a dash of curry powder, brown sugar, worcestershire, and soy sauce is not bad pat it dry , let it air out a little bit then smoke with your fav. woods we smoke a lot of fish, always looking for a diff way to do it whites taste pretty good, kentuckies are delicious that way thanks for the tips

  19. I might part with some of mine Trophy. Pm sent
  20. wonder how long before that gets upped another 50hp ? 300's are common on the walleye tours I'm surprised FLW has not raised the max already.
  21. that was not the original "game plan" btw I was just going out to try for a deep jig bite that had produced some big ones back in january, but then I saw those darn diving gulls !
  22. tungsten is just one of the many alternatives to lead btw do you want to spend a little more to help conservation matters, or buy lead and save some dough? the costs will eventually go down as more and more manufacturers switch to lead free alternatives (i'm not trying to start another debate over lead, so guys( you know who you are) just let it go )
