  1. WT 76-77 654.8 5:00-7:00pm A nice breeze in the Theodosia arm last night had the bottom and the bait all stirred up. Small strike king crankbaits I painted, and homemade buzzbaits burned parallel to bluffs put several 10-14" kentuckies in the boat but no big fish. Switched up and found some brush piles in 2-10'. Dunked a blk/blue/ jig and caught 4 lmb 17-18". Wound up with 10 keepers and 10 short bass. All released. Conditions looked good for a spinnerbait but the water temps were not what I like for a mid-shallow blade bite. Spent the last half hour just driving around scanning the bottom looking. The largest concentrations of fish I found were channel related and suspended 12-22' over 22-30'. about 2/3 of the way up. Still need the water temps to drop to 70 and it will change things for the better.
  2. too bad for the beach swimmers, hope they wear shoes
  3. do you know if those Dr. Sonar maps are made using Insight Genesis ? I had a hard time telling by the couple of pics they had to show
  4. just looking for some feedback by other anglers who have used this any pros and cons?
  5. looking for any feedback from other anglers who have used this pros or cons?
  6. I believe you ericangler If you've never caught an 80+ lb cat they ARE as big as a car hood, pushing 60" I use a big stick, 6500 reel, 80-100lb test, 9/0 circle hooks w/ a 1/2lb. of cut bait and/or 10-12" live baits I'd be more leery of the largest loggerhead turtles in the USA , maybe the world, that are living in BS right now.
  7. Dutch thanks for the report man. were those spook fish hitting in the shade or full sun? I was fishing the shaded E, S/E banks before the sun got high, but I didn't try any bluffs.
  8. bass in our local reservoirs act more like salmon than bass, lol would be interesting to know how far some of those brownies travel in a 24hr period, especially during seasonal migrations
  9. how do you get a bass to stay in any areas of the lake ?
  10. WT 76-77 655.3 8-11am Bass fished in Big Creek. Tried some shoreline topwaters first thing for about an hour, caught 1 dink. Just like the last time I found some bass 20-30' on the bottom out in the middle of a cove. Shad were present ,but there was little if any surface activity besides gar. The bass were relating to rock transitions on the bottom, and were not up on the banks. I was "zoomed in" on the fish finder to see the changes in bottom composition. From what I could see it was clay?,pea gravel and chunk rock. Broke out the baby rage craws on a 5/16oz. fb shaky head and caught a fat 16"+ spot on the first cast. Just kept fan casting that area ,and switching craw colors every 15-20 casts to show them something diff. Wound up catching 8 big, fat, football spotted bass there! Long time between bites, but they were big bites
  11. rippin' lips ,cool !
  12. is it work related? If work related what were/are you looking for in those areas of the lake , just curious.
  13. Ham, 76 degree water , I'll keep ya posted DCF, you'll have better luck next time ! CRAPPIE, thanks for the post ,sounds good my "go to" walleye guy gave up on 'em a month ago because it got so slow. Now he's after ol'whiskers and is doing really good with that.
  14. Might want to take it to another shop for a second opinion. All of our certified mechanics say the majority of 4 stroke repairs they do are due to lack of maintenance by the owner/operator.. We have 9 Mercury 4-strokes all bought new in 2006 ranging from 60-115hp. Thre's 900+ hours on each of them, and they still perform flawlessly because they are being well maintained. good luck
  15. any good news?
  16. I don't guide but I can imagine what happens w/ that I said "you" ,not your clients, might be interested in hook stacking. the way I use a spoon on a ds rig it seldom if ever gets tangled in the hook or line because i modify it.
  17. exactly, A rigs are great for really deep suspended fish even when it's hot , but rarely do you see anybody using one while still wearing shorts and a t-shirt Bill why just the one hook bait on the ds rig? you might be interested in "stacking" VMC spin shot hooks and using a jigging spoon for the weight. helps put a few of those "followers" in the boat.
  18. when I hear the word quaratine I think of "isolation to prevent the spread of something bad" did they really say "quarantined" for 30 days? wonder if they are planning on releaseing them somewhere other than TR? Like maybe in a Bass Pro tank
  19. sounds like A rig bite?! anybody still using those things?
  20. Quillback jay bird this may sound weird guys, but sometimes the extra trailer hook causes the fish to not get hooked well and get off. used to have the same problems losing fish w/ trailer hooks on a buzzer. Try the buzz w/o the added hook and you'll be suprised at how many more bass you get in the boat when this problem arises. Some days you need the extra hook, and some days it just get's in the way... I make buzzers w/ long shank hooks and it works for me. If anybody has a buzzbait question I'm your guy. (On spinnerbaits i use one about every time)
  21. there's plenty of big bass in TR . For a long time I've heard the same things about BS. "A-rigs caught all the big one's!" "There's no big bass left in Bull anymore." well they are there, and they are biting. daytime jigging a 1 oz. white spoon on bottom in 70' Guy caught an 8 and a 5 1/2 lmb earlier in the week on Bull. It won't be long before the weights go up. The shad are migrating. I don't fish T's anymore but I follow the scene all year. the night T's on BS are pretty much the same results every other week ,11-13 lbs average.
  22. cool! deep fried catfish nuggets!
  23. sweet! , topwater is my fav too! topwater bites been going on at Bull since early April.. My reports sound like a "broken record" about it. saw a 4-12 and a 5-12 caught on top Tue. eve. Alex, would you mind sharing the "type" of plug you used? Small, big, walker, popper ect.?? Any particular bank features you looked for? thanks
