  1. I always liked Huddlebugs but that Mitch's craw is pretty darn realistic. Where can you purchase them?
  2. People just don't take responsibility for their actions anymore.
  3. I don't think there is such thing as a "perfect" waking action honestly. For instance, my favorite waker is the ms slammer. No 2 baits will run the same no matter how much tinkering you do with them. Some run perfectly straight, others roll on their side a bit, some will dive a few feet if you want, others not. I have several and they all run differently but all get bit. Its kind of like the old school warts (annoying if you're the OCD type but they work) Oh, and has anybody tried the IMA Roumba? It looks kinda cool but I've yet to try one
  4. Definitely a nice looking bait. Was the middle one a little off tune from the others? Just notice the snap vs the rings. The color they call "elegy bone" looks pretty slick
  5. I have a XSS 9" Glide Gizzard and I have to say its about the most realistic finish I have ever seen on a bait. Truly unreal and the dude that makes them is very nice, though he does take a little flak for extended wait times. Sadly, I also had a SS 9" Glide Gizzard, but thats a sad story... I know the 9" might be a little intimidating to some guys here in MO but he also does a 6" version. I'd heard he'll be doing a pre order on these sometime soon if anybody is interested.
  6. I'm sure he's a nice guy, didn't mean to offend. Is this the Morgan's you are referring to? http://www.morgan-custom-lures.com/ I had one of their Glide Gills, ended up selling it but never heard about any drama surrounding them
  7. For $5 more I'd skip the Spro rat for a Mini Slammer or Bettencourt. I'd rather spend the money on a bait hand made in America than one thats machine injected then assembled by 7 year old kids in the Orient. Plus Siementel is kind of a turd
  8. I'm no expert but love Mann's Jelly Worms and the Zoom Ol Monster. Also, been fishing the Upton Customs 13" straight tail the past couple seasons with good success. Nice and soft and they actually smell really good lol
  9. Terrible news. May he rest in peace
  10. I've had various spinning reels over the years and have found the best bang for your buck is the Shimano Sienna. Works well, is dependable, and its inexpensive enough that if you lose or break it then its not a huge deal. Also, I just got this one this Spring from Okuma. So far I'm really digging it. Performs extremely well for its price class: http://www.tacklewarehouse.com/Okuma_Ceymar_Spinning_Reels/descpage-CAY.html Just my 2 cents, and truth be told I'm more of a casting guy when possible

Looks like you had a great time!
  12. This totally made me laugh. I'm glad there are others out there who love razzing on trout fishermen!
  13. Personally, I'm not keeping any black bass now or any time soon. That said, I'd rather see somebody keeping 50 fish that barely qualify as "keepers" than 1 trophy fish.
  14. I wouldn't pay $2 for any bait from ABT
  15. Really enjoyed your report and checking out the photos!
  16. You need TETHERS, TETHERS, and more TETHERS! Easy to make or you can get them on ebay pretty cheap. Make sure everything is either tethered or tied down securely. Any time I am in a yak', float tube, or canoe I check and double check all my connections. I used to not fret over these matters but a couple summers ago I had a Daiwa PX Type R/Phenix M1 combo go overboard and I felt like crap over it for a while
  17. Dear God man! Thoughthere are a few colors you are missing lol. Are most pre-Rap warts? I'm not good at distinguishing between the two
  18. Sounds like a great trip!
  19. Wasn't it in the movie "Father of the Bride" when he has that meltdown about pack sizes of hot dogs vs buns? Steve Martin is hilarious.
  20. Looks nice but I don't see it replacing my Biffle Bugs and Beavers any time soon!
  21. CXX is darn nice stuff. I know of a few guys out west that use it on swimbaits with good results
  22. There was a story on KY3 about it. I'll see if I can find the link
  23. The one with a bill is a "Silent Killer" and without a "Slide Swimmer." There are a lot of Slide Swimmers floating around the secondary market that are in fact modified Silent Killers. I've never fished a modded one, but apparently the 250s work well, modified 175s not so much. I just picked up a new 175 straight from Japan for $55, definitely cheaper than dealing with US retailers unfortunately. You can get them even cheaper in certain colors
  24. Most guys (myself included) do not advocate the use of braid for big swimbaits. When I first got in to swimbaits, I felt more secure using braid but quickly gave up on that. Straight fluoro or mono all the way. I like Big Game but pretty much exclusively use P-Line PF in 15-30# on my setups. Only exception is my frog rod which I sometimes use to throw lunker punkers (some sizes/materials just walk easier with braid) which is usually spooled with 50# PP. For more info I suggest checking out Swimbait Underground and search for threads on line choice, tons of good info
