Was able to make a trip to the river and since I got a new camera I thought I'd share a little of the trip. It was a cloudy overcast day but finally cool enough that I could paddle up and not melt. The river is down and the water is really clear right now. The bite was tough but it was a quite peaceful day. It was nice to get away from it all and any day fishing is better than a day working. Fall is really starting to make an appearance so I'm not sure how many more times Ill get to go. I took a few pictures and released them all for another day.

Yaknar looks like a good trip except the crash at the end. I still get out but dont post anymore. I caught 3 walleye in the same section of river on my last trip. First ones I've caught up in there. I need to get out a few more times before the year is up. As always thanks for taking us along on your trips.✌🎣

Galena to Kerr is around 3 miles and could be done pretty quickly if you dont fish it super hard around 3 to 5 hours so you may want to add blinks. Mudbank to Kerr is a pretty good haul and can eat 10 + hours. Delaware to Shelvin and Shelvin to Hooten are around 7 miles and would eat that 5 to 8 hours nicely. Water is moving kinda slow right now but we will see as week progresses with rain fall. Had luck as of late with watermelon jigs, dark crankbaits and a few morning largemouth hits on topwater. Hope this helps. Tight lines and best of luck to ya.

Wanted to share a few pics from some recent adventures. The bite for me as of late has been tough, I've had to really work to catch the fish that I have caught. The river has changed for me after the rains and floods and the fish have moved from I normally find them. Here are a few pics of some of the ones I have been blessed to catch. All fish where released to catch another day.

I believe that is correct at 6.5 miles. The river is moving decent right now at a discharge at 980 cfps and a gauge height of 4.08. There is some great fishing in this section of the river, we have been doing well in the middle of the river on smallies on anything that looks like a craw. The float itself could be covered in 3 hours with no fishing at current discharge but like Mr Slab Slinger has mentioned above allow 8 hours and fish it all. Fish the banks and structure of course in the deeper holes and the middle going with the current in the riffles and have a great time and post some pics of your outing. Tight Lines and Big Smiles

Dougie's Delaware Report 7/16/2015 with fishing* UPDATE*

Was able to get out early am and float from Delaware to Shelvin Rock Access. The float normally will take 6-7 hours for me as I like to fish , wade and float. This morning it took about 4 hours and could have been done in 3, the river is flowing nicely and clear of debris. Caught my first Small just below the 14 bridge and my buddy caught a large there as well. The bite was really good all day but strangely picked up as the heating of the day set in. For those familiar with this section of the river, there is a deep hole we refer to as Gar hole near the end of the trip where you can see the huge house way up on the hill, then there is a long stretch after gar hole that leads to the bridge above Shelvin hole. that little section was so HOT today it was incredible and a ton of fun. Each cast produced a small mouth between 12 and 15" and one closer to the 17-18 range. I've never caught many fish in this section but today it was smallie heaven ) All fish where set free for us all to hopefully catch another day. Caught so many I couldn't take pictures of them all but here are a few. Water has better clarity and a little more green than even Thursday. For those who track stats as I do the flow was at 944 cfps with a gauge height of 4.02 The river is safe and they are hungry go get'em. Be safe ,tight lines, big smiles! -

No problem Yaknar I've been called a lot worse. Sounds great Junkie! Hope to see you there, we are getting an early start both have camo fs 10 ascends and going to try to take chainsaw or bow saws and do any trimming we need to make the river safe. I was actually thinking about you two when I was typing and sharing!
