  1. Caught one female with eggs shallow, the c-rig fish were on gravel in 10-15' of water and appeared spawned out, but I'm not a bass expert.
  2. Other than some showers on Thursday it was a nice and very busy weekend on our little lake. Lots of color to the water, water temps low to mid 70's. Caught 8-10 fish every day, no wall hangers, but solid 2-3 lbers. C-rig caught the most fish, but also caught several in front of bushes on a jig, and a few on LC square bills.
  3. I did the same thing with my first jon boat. The telescopic handle wasn't long enough so I engineered an extension with pvc and a hose clamp.
  4. Makes sense. Truth be told my wading is usually from one bank to the other along a riffle, so I'm usually in knee boots, and my stringer is tied to a root or a rock, and my big bait decision is what color head on my white road runner.
  5. Never seen one. Kind of like the old metal ones with clips. When I'm wading for whites, I use the old fashioned pointy thing on one end and metal o ring on other end. Why is yours more better?
  6. My wife has a 6 cyl 2011 AWD Highlander, I believe it would tow a 19' f&s, but it wouldn't be ideal. My 09 expedition towed my Ranger Reata 190 just fine. You don't need a 3/4 ton truck to pull these boats.
  7. What kinda stringer is that?
  8. Either they fixed it or the lake rose 2' this morning.
  9. Been showing 842.91 since yesterday.
  10. Isn't it about time for Mr. Babler's out with the barely old in with the new sale?
  11. Good for him/her. Hope they enjoy it in good health.
  12. River running 8000 cfs and creek 4000, shut discharge down to 500 last night, so if you like to fish on a rising tide...you'll like the next couple of days.
  13. Cut bluegill/green sunfish work well also.
  14. I'm right handed. Why do I reel with my left hand with spinning gear and right hand with baitcaster? Try as I might, can't get used to left handed baitcast reels. I like the idea of not changing hands, but it's not working for me. Any tips? Might have a barely used left handed Lews baitcaster for sale or trade...
  15. 180W. Troller has been sold.
  16. I wouldn't want a bunch of old asphalt as my main dam material. Not only leaching issues, but pourous. But maybe you can get most of the fill done and come back over the front and top with a few loads of good clay, and compact it in. Check your watershed, need to get rid of the inflow either by pipe or spillway, preferably both.
  17. Maybe the used market may be jacked up because new is jacked up. $100k Ranger??? It's like anything else, if you have to have it right now, you pay the offer. If you can wait, and cast your net outside your zip code, there are deals to be had.
  18. Never is a long time...with that being said...I would NEVER buy a new boat.
  19. This is the only walleye left on the Lindley side. She's still swimming so leave her alone.
  20. What happens at Newport is influenced by what happens on the AR River and lower Miss. The White has no where to go when the big river is backed up. Big Muddy is trending lower, but that could change with projected precip.
  21. Sometimes you make it easy, sometimes it's harder to read between the lines...but I'm going with WP.
  22. Can appreciate that. Good for you. Some people would say, get away from it all...but for some it's not an option.
  23. Based on the food thread...I'd see if rps could come up from OK and help you out. He could even show you how to catch 'em.
  24. I don't know...this one's no dink.
