Thats where the word compromise comes in, BBT events aren't held during those 2 months. What difference does it make whether you catch the biggest fish in April or October.
I think Canada has it right with not keeping bass during the spawn. That seems like a logical compromise everyone could agree on, say from March 20 thru May 20. Catch all you want but shut off the live well. It would only help everyone in the end.
Sitting here watching Virginia making a little comeback before the half. Anyway I was on bassmaster.com reading about the classic being on tomorrow morning, espn2. The water is right for the spinnerbait and crank to get going. Good bag, way to go.
darn quill you told me Ned and I completely forgot, threw a jig and swam a keitech and a grub. Flat calm it was tough. Back of schooner was 46-47. Saw a massive school of shad on a bluff down from KC bridge, birds all over it leaving feathers in the water. Rain should help
Great report Quill. I'm sitting here working on tackle and stringing poles. I still have some of Dave's ned heads and they will be within reach for sure when I get down there Monday. Interested to see what happens in the derbies today out of Kimberling. I know there was some pretty wicked weather that blew through there this morning. Its warming up they should be moving up, at least I hope they do. I will report good or bad on how I do.
In water 48 degrees I'd be skeptical that those were "working beds". My guess is current blew that area out and created those spots or they were old beds. If I had to guess I would say white bass if anything given you were at McCord. Who knows though, mother nature has a way of changing things up.
Does anyone throw lucky craft pointers? If so how did they perform for you? I just picked up a couple pointer 100, 4" long and supposed to get in that 4-6 ft range on 10lb line.
