  1. So for the last couple years we start a white bass thread around this time. So here we go again. Fly rod year three for me going up little sac. Hopefully we get some rain and temps hold fast. Last year was little to much water this year looks like not enough. I will say my best year was very similar to this start.
  2. This was tough picking high plains over Josey Wales was very tough. I often whistle the rose of Alabama when I'm camping Lol. Or dixieland followed by battle hymn of the republic.
  3. If I get service ill try to post some sunrise pictures on the water. Floating lower end first so maybe browns by days end Monday.
  4. High plains drifter Office space Dances with wolves Braveheart And don't judge... Harry potter all of them lol
  5. How far up were they? Hoping they make it up lil sac pretty soon.
  6. Oh I think any chance to spend two days on the river is as zen as it gets. Ill post pictures of myself floating above the water legs crossed and lines tight lol
  7. White bass time is nigh. . .
  8. Post if you get down there
  9. Gotta be super low and slow. If the weather jumps back up after the rain Tuesday that could set them off. As long as the h2o stays in the fifties to sixties. I think it'll be an early run this for sure. March madness
  10. Finished up tying all the nymphs and streamers ill need for the trip. Buggers, stoneflies, by prince, pheasant tails, hares ears, and caddis. I even threw in some Griffiths gnats and elk hair for fun. Going to try throwing streamers day one sinis rain is coming day two. Then Czech nymph in the evening and all day the next day if the streamers don't work. Looking forward to some bro time and fishing all day long.
  11. The others have a lot of maribou which is my favorite material I think. Have some deceivers too but not anything people haven't seen before and again my bucktail savvy isn't real strong yet.
  12. Its got some yarn mixed in and the big schlapen tail. Not overly confident with buck tail yet. Well see...
  13. Bet the brownies would love that sucker
  14. The niangua above Bennett is pretty thick with them as well. Especially around moon valley . I have seen ten in a day in a half mile stretch up there. Usually late summer or early fall.
  15. Another one this one is similar to a fur trader but smaller profile and longer...
  16. That guy was really rude to a new guy on a waders post recently. Some people don't understand why we are here and that we share to help continue our sport and passions. Don't let that discourage your post because I for one look forward to seeing your trips down south and your jig reports.
  17. Is just a trickle up here in Lawrence county.
  18. Try a hares ear in size 16 and see if they play. I have seen the same size in tan at crane creek quite a bit. Tear them up on elk hair caddis.
  19. Another new pattern...
  20. Gotta love the niangua! My favorite river is have to say. Nice catch oneshot
  21. Well don't be too critical here. This guys is new and probably confused looking for a place to start the process. Fly fishing isn't just a pick up the rod and gear hobby. It seems like a lot at first and can be overwhelming. Any question is a good question.
  22. Go with boots separate. Any good hiking boot will work if you want cheap. If you want good ones look at bass pro.
  23. I've seen them take red jigsand rooster tails as well
  24. Thought this up this morning in attempt to prepare for north fork trip. Articulated maribou and craft fur decked out with sharpies. Lots of movement and a few secrets hidden under her feathers.
  25. Couple of new additions to the north fork trip box. Tied up a couple more Barely legals and some more stone flies I came up with.
