  1. . I like to use older 5500c's , on a BP Extreme Med. action with fast taper and tip. I always used BP 17# flor. Mono, have now switched to 40# braid, spider wire glo-vis fluorescent .
  2. I recall now those spinner baits can be viewed on their website at: nutechlures.com
  3. I wish Bo would show a picture of his Blackwidow Spinner Bait. I have caught more big fish at night on that lure than anything else I can remember. It's a concept of a detachable jig, # 7 single Colorado blade and the harness is completely different than anything you have ever seen on .032 wire and you talk about thump and watching the end of your rod dance up and down. It is definitely a big fish bait. It's really a shame this can't be shared, because it is so darned effective. The way I throw it is I let it free spool down just like I fish a jig all the way down to the bottom and then crank 8 or 10 times and get it thumping real good and then let it thump back down to the bottom. The strike will either come on the fall or they will trap it on the bottom. It stays upright at all times, as you know most lay over on their side and you get a lot of side of the mouth and lip hooking. With the jig staying up right you will hook the fish in the top of the mouth almost everytime and the pulling contest is on!!
  4. Anybody who is at the Big M ramp at 05:30 waiting for the fog to lift and traveled an hour and a half to get there, would have to change their geometrics around. With such a confused spawn, all heck is going to break loose in July, most likely in the feeder creeks!Sure wish I could be there, but spondalosis of the neck has me side-lined.
  5. Night fishing up stream here, It's like we have a private lake from Shell Knob to Eagle Rock from Sunday through Thursday. We see very few boats after dark.
  6. Those big Danze''''s with twin 4 stroke merc's made a pretty big wake!!
  7. I am not going to mention the guy who will slap you up-to-side of the head, I'll let you use own imagination!!
  8. I fish with a guy who will slap you in the head with them and I am talking about 5 and 6 pounders. I have found if you will kind of wrap them on the side and top of the gunnel it more or less tranquilizes them and they will just kind of freeze while wrapped across the top and side of the gunnel's, until you can get hold of them and remove the hook or hooks.
  9. Quill, We need some fresh input from Big M. How's the thumb doing?, hope it didn't sideline you too long, we need you out there!!
  10. Great Montage Bill, I really respect and admire your ability to maintain a daily pattern and production, especially in the daytime. If I ever needed a guide, you'd be first on my list.
  11. Yep, I had the same problem with it. Thanks for the input.
  12. I got another question, was your line hi-vis yellow or tracer yellow?
  13. If you are not ready to junk it, there is a shop in Springfield that repairs them and specializes in Lowrance units and if you pm 1997merc Bo can give you all the info on George.
  14. That's what I was wondering about, had the same thing happen to me with fireline flame green.
  15. Buzz , Spinner or Basser. I had a poodle for 18 yrs. and that was the smartest dog I have ever seen. I hunted and trained pointers and Brittany's and this poodle seem to me to be a lot smarter.
  16. Has anybody used any Spiderwire Hi-Vis Yellow or Spiderwire Glo-Vis Green at night under the black lights. We've found it is as fluorescent as Mono. I was fishing with 15# hi-vis yellow and my buddy had 40 # glo-vis and we both got hung-up simultaneously and couldn't dog either one loose and had a heck of a time breaking it, even with it figured eight around a pair of long nose pliers I was finally able to break it and I didn't feel a great difference in the pull strength. I just wonder if any of you have any experience using this line and how it holds up over time?.
  17. . It was just one of those nights, I haven't had that many fish come unbuttoned collectively all year. All you can do is grin and bear it. We were just happy to get on them pretty good. The background in your first picture looks very familiar. There aren't usually any fish on that point. Old Mill Rd., I am just curious, what was the configuration of the hook you were losing those fish on. With a 60° shank and horrisonal tie, that's hard to figure out unless it's one of those nights when you're just a little hair triggered. With a 90° hook like in Bill's picture you will thin hook most of your fish as shown in his picture.
  18. What are talking abou man?, you are as consistant as they come!
  19. Normally you can see the bottom as you get in those narrows and there are some gigantic slab-rock and boulders on the bottom, If you are running at a sensible speed you can navigate around them.
  20. Most of Bass Pro's line is made by Shakespear, especially their mono.
  21. You can now until the complete the installation of the gate at the front entrance.
  22. The piers and steel is in place and appear ready for the gate. Barricades are already in place just beyond the attendant building, thus blocking entrance to the park.
