On the Niangua yesterday temp was 56-58 and the water milky. Looked like turnover to me. Only fish I got were on a Ned fished super slow. I did catch a small Smallmouth, only the second or third I've caught in LOZ.
Those must be very cool and incredibly detailed. The USGS has a website which allows downloading many historical topo maps.

In just a couple of minutes I found a 1905 topo of Branson.
We went to the Jacobs Cave flea market today, saw quite a few there, but everything is priced similar to Ebay. What really surprised me is the old glass jar minnow traps. Most are $75 or better and one new in box from the fifties was $200. We have like 3 of the buckets as BH pictured and 2 Old Pal galvanized worm containers. One of them is the style you clip on your belt for wade fishing. I bet that makes some of the fly guys cringe. We did find a couple of deals on reels, I bought 2 Calcuttas and a Bantam at a very good price.
I saw on the news tonight there was a serious accident 15 MM of the Big Niangua Arm. Apparently this was just a few hundred yards from our home and yet we heard nothing. The news said a Bass Boat ran head on into a Jon Boat. Anybody know any details?
Best wishes for the future of the young lady, you've a few tough years ahead. I switched off to throwing a Daredevil spoon yesterday, no Hybrids but 2 cats, one a channel about 5 pounds and the second a Blue that was a real battle, probably just in the upper end of the slot. I've caught more big cats this year bass and hybrid fishing than than I have bass and hybrids.
Looking for a 24 volt with the 50 or 52 inch shaft. I know someone installed an Ultrex and has an extra. I could maybe go 36 volt if the deal is right.

it seems this disaster may have may be man made?
I looked for tickets to Rhondas' show, did I miss it? The darn Hybrids are beating me up. All I want is to chase them anymore, Had another goodun on last night that pulled off. Been able to get some whites and cats off the shad schools, and one or two big fish bites per evening. It's frustrating but I don't believe there's any better fight than a healthy wiper.
I was out for a bit Friday evening, throwing a 1/10 Oz. Ned rig with 1/2 of a Trd. Having fun catching lots of small bass and sunfish. I'll be danged if I didn't hook into a freight train of a hybrid on the 6# light action setup. He had me out classed and after about a 10 minute struggle broke off at the boat when I was trying to get him in. Gotta start carrying a net. I got a good look though, it appeared to be in the fish of the year range, maybe 8#. I know without a pic it's just a story, but for me it's one heck of a story.
