Guy is a piece of work. He seems willing to let ahoys, the boat ramp, and the boat dock just sit there out of spite. ive been told he also owns the rock(old bearded clam). My buddy owns a condo at kimberling inn and is constantly cursing the hotel owner.

Thanks to everyone posting info for weekend warriors like myself. I consume way more than I can contribute on this site and I'm sincerely thankful to those willing to share fishing tips and lake condition updates. Me and a couple buddies will be staying at Turkey Creek Ranch that fri-mon. Been 2 years since I've had the pleasure of fishing bull shoals. Really looking forward to this trip - 4 years ago we slammed the bass at the same time of year, similar low water. Didn't catch anything over 3.5lbs, but lots of fish in the 2-2.5lb class. ill try to post reports after our day is complete each eve. Hopefully stories of at least some success.

Jolicious - were you a valedictorian? Way above and beyond any response I expected. Most definitely is Paho. Thanks for the answer. Guess I'll have to make the run up there from St. Louis sometime soon. The law shouldn't find my unwrapped 2004 triton to pose much of a threat

Mdc write up on paho for anyone interested: http://mdc.mo.gov/newsroom/lake-paho-offers-quiet-fishing-and-lunker-largemouths

I guess anything is possible, but it wasn't a big production. A cop pulls up off camera - u can see the lights flash in the background and hear the siren go. They cut production, then Brent is in his truck driving to another lake to finish the day, explaining what happened. Whole thing lasts 20 seconds - far cry from any scene off cops. I could be wrong, but I doubt a low budget fishing show in sportsmans channel would take the time to write, direct, and film such a scene. We arent talking about a zona show. I don't pretend to know Brent personally, but everything I've read about him makes him out to be a true professional and stickler for the rules. biggest answer I'd like to find is what lake it is? Watching them put in and fish the darn area, I really think it's paho in northwest Missouri.

Was watching this weeks episode(week 11) - Brent is fishing with a gentleman named Ken Lindberg. They were stopped in the middle of filming by the sheriff via flashing lights and siren. He told them it was illegal for them to continue filming or release the lakes name/location. They say several times in the episode they are fishing a public lake. They were allowed to air the footage they already shot, but bleep out any mention of the lakes name or location. And they weren't allowed to film any new footage after their interaction with he law. They never do release the name of the lake. I've searched online but found nothing. I believe they are on lake paho. Wondering if anyone can confirm that. If it is lake paho, I really would like to know exactly what law the sheriff was enforcing. Seems to me he may have seen some out of towners in a wrapped fishing rig and chased them off of his honey hole with some bogus info. Ive never actually fished paho, but I've been told by those that do it holds some absolute hogs. Great test case showing 18" and 2 bass per day limit can have a wonderful effect on the population.

The report I saw said he threw the 10xd almost exclusively on Sunday. I couldn't imagine chucking that lure around for 8 hours straight - I've still never caught a fish on the thing.

+1 on the okeefes for dry hands.

It's all preference right? I'm sure there are plenty of studies with evidence supporting both strait braid and braid to fluoro. I'm a fluoro guy always have been, always will be. I like the way the braid comes off my spinning gear though. So I go with a leader and fish it with confidence. If I was using strait braid, I'd constantly be telling myself it's affecting my fishing if I ain't catching. With that leader tied on, I don't have those thoughts. The presence of my leader is valuable to me even if it makes no difference to the fish. Jmo.

A few months ago you replied to a thread about braid to fluoro knots with a YouTube video of shaw grigsby tieing up a knot "a salt water fisherman taught him" - the uni to improved cinch x12 I've been calling it. Great knot - easy to tie and super strong. Passed the knot along to a couple buddies last weekend who also gave it rave reviews. thanks again for the info!

Last year, Saturday of the big bass tournament was very crowded. I tried kc to the dam and found no shelter. It was a rough day - not much courtesy or patience displayed by those on the water. I think anglers in action held their tournament that same day. Went way up the white on that Sunday - found more fish and less boats. Good luck to all this weekend.

Awesome fish. Just curious, what brand wobble were you throwing? The wobble head is no doubt my favorite way to fish. I still throw larews 90% of the time - the hook seems to swing more freely than with any other brand. Difficult to move away from the innovators and best quality, but they are also the most expensive. I throw some painted choppers, but their hooks don't swing nearly as freely as the larews. Saw tight lines uv started making a wobble, picked up a few packages to try out a little deeper this year. cant say enough about how much I love this jig. Drag it, crank it, or swim it. Trailer it with small beavers, large creatures, senkos, paddle tail swim baits(killer out in 20 + fow in July and August), or grubs. I've had a lot of success with it over the past few years. If you don't have a few in your box, you are missing out.

Sounds like a very nice day, thanks for the report. Mostly main lake points still I'm guessing? I'll be down the weekend of the 19th - can't get here soon enough.
-
days are getting longer, have had a few day warming trend - I wouldn't be surprised if you find some fish staging. Like a lot of folks, Crawfish patterns with a little red are my favorite during the pre-spawn. Baxter area is my fav area to fish this time of year. Good luck, post pics. I can't get out on table rock for another month, your alls pics are the only thing getting me by!

Personally, I feel rod sensitivity is better with braid to fluoro over strait fluoro. Add in the fact that a $20 spool 100% fluoro will last a lot longer with braid to fluoro, and I'm sold. My knot breaks almost exclusively come when trying to get unsnagged. I've only had the knot snap on a fish one time - and someone else was using my setup.
-
I just started playing around with braid to fluoro last year, uni to uni is the only knot I messed with until now. I had 10# braid to 6# fluoro and kept breaking off at the knot. Agree, that shaw grigsby knot looks a bit easier to tie than the uni to uni. Thanks pepe

saw this knot a couple weeks ago on lake commandos. Anyone ever use it? It still takes me forever to tie a uni to uni, the bob Foran looks a bit easier. Any feedback is appreciated.

I had not been on Pete weeners site for a bit - visited yesterday and saw the tips from pros videos. Pretty awesome new feature he has on the site. Anyway, the second video is bill beck talking spoon fishing. Very detailed and informative. I'm having trouble trying to link the video but it's definitely worth checking out.

The episode before this "table rock" episode, they did the same thing. Splice up three old shows and present them as a new one. Guess they are overstocked with kvd square bills and rage blades.

This weeks Strike Kings Fish Hard episode is described as follows - KVD fishes table rock lake. Just a heads up.

The segment with clunn was advertised as targeting bass in trout lakes. All clunn really talked about was changing his stratagy from targeting 2lbers bc of the 15 limit bag to going for 5 big bites/day. The only real info I took away on bass in trout lakes was they tend to be resident bass, not roamers. The segment left me unsatisfied. jmo. But opinions and aholes - everyone's got em. I've caught quite a few bass on taneycomo over the years, nothing bigger than 3lbs. I love trout fishing, but if I knew biggens are prevalent in taneycomo that bait aster would be in my hands a lot more
-
Really just a guess. I could be totally wrong. Been quite awhile since I was down by rockaway beach. I too thought it was strange they were so vague about their shooting location. Clunn talking about targeting trophy bass that eat rainbows, then didn't catch anything bigger than 2lbs. I really enjoy the bass pros, but this clunn segment was poorly produced
-
Sure looked like lower Taneycomo to me

Bo - saw your spinnerbaits on tw last night for the first time. Put a couple in my cart. Promise to buy more when I start catching a few with them!

A couple years ago I was separated from my spinnerbait box. It was full of nothing but war eagles in either white / chartreuse or black / blue. After 2+ years of searching for that box and stubbornly refusing to buy new spinnerbaits, I have decided to cave. The only current weapons I have in my arsenal are a couple of twin spin war eagles. Would love to hear anyones suggestions on must haves for my new box. Have kinda been leaning to throwing some of the spinnerbaits strike king and/or terminator offer.
